if you weren't defending bush while screaming about the black guy, then you'd have some credibility. i'm not here to defend obama or his policies, because many of his economic policies and the system that has been put into place has been carried over from the bush era. the stimulus plan was started out by bush, when the economy started nosediving and then the torch was passed onto obama. do you think if mccain had miraculously won, things would be different? do you think mccain would not be paying wallstreet back for all the election money they poured into both parties? give up this charade jerry.

Richard Henry Bain, 62, arrested after man shot dead during Pauline Marois victory speech link curious to hear what those who are from quebec feel about this incident and about the so-called separatist party coming to power. to me, it looks like the PQ won because the liberals didn't do their job. it doesn't look like this was an election about separatism. i do admit, the quebec elections hasn't really been on my radar.

michelle obama's speech was okay, but it was a typical scripted blah blah. it just wasn't an improvised conversation with a chair. -
And the World (the Ummah That Is) Looks Just the Same...

if you are a man of law, then why do you have such a hard time accepting that israel was not liberated, but created. there never was a state of israel before it was created in 1948. majority of the people who migrated to palestine were european jews whose only connection to the land were biblical. -
i don't think this thread will come anywhere close to the number of pages in the american woman's misunderstood mosque near ground zero thread.

when he makes a mistake or deliberately lies and he has to reply to questions about this mistake, he gets himself off the hook by not responding. there are threads after thread where he has failed to respond to points made towards his half-truths and misinformation. this is jbg for you. the drive by misinformation poster. -

israel did not exist before may 15th, 1948 so you have the words created and liberated mixed up. -

u.s. scales back joint military exercise with israel

of the many atrocities that are happening around the world, the reason why the israel/palestine conflict is the most important to me, is because our western governments support and even try to justify a government who has been violating the rights of a group of people for decades. on this forum, i find that i best serve justice by dedicating my time to an issue that i find to be one of the most important issues today. so why do you spend an overwhelming majority of time bashing muslims and apologizing for israel's actions? people like you are another reason why i feel that i need to speak out for justice. -
not sure how many times the link to haaretz and quotes from the article has been posted to respond to you and jbg, so i hope you stop wasting my time and pay attention to the following so it doesn't need to be posted. this is 'they': Sen. John Kerry asked Shapiro what steps the embassy, under his administration, would take that would be in keeping with the remarks of State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley. On June 30, 2010 Crowley had said, “We continue to stress to the government of Israel at the highest levels, to continue a thorough, transparent and credible investigation of the circumstances concerning [Corrie’s] death.” Shapiro responded: “For seven years, we have pressed the government of Israel at the highest levels to conduct a thorough, transparent and credible investigation of the circumstances of her death. The government of Israel has responded that it considers this case closed and does not plan on reinvestigating the incident.” so your next question or point is moot since it was the u.s. administration's position about israel's investigation which they found to not be credible and transparent. i also like how you pick and choose what to respond to. i understand that facts and the truth do not mesh well with the image ou want to give of israel. your inability to acknowledge the truth cements the label of hasbara bot. there is ample evidence of the israeli 3rd world justice system when it comes to investigations in the palestinian territory. the statistics is just one of them: "... 91% of investigations [by Israeli police in the OPT] into crimes committed by Israelis against Palestinians and their property are closed without indictments being served. 84% of the investigation files are closed because of the investigators' failure to locate suspects and evidence. ... Indictments were served in less than 3% of these cases."

i take it shady doesn't cheer for team dems? does he know that both team dems and team repubs have similar sources for election money? for example: Goldman Sachs, General Motors, JPMorgan Chase, The Blackstone Group, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Atria, Pfizer, the Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers of America, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, AT&T, Citigroup, Elliott Management, Comcast, Google, Koch Industries, the Managed Funds Association, Verizon, Visa and Walmart. oh reality! why must you get in the way of spolitics and team booing and cheering? -
what the u.s. official said was that the military investigation was not as "thorough, credible or transparent" as it should have been. they obviously found fault in how the investigation was conducted. this is a continuous theme with israel and its investigation of its own military in the occupied territories. there is a lot of evidence showing how israel cannot be trusted in investigating itself. when you have 91% of investigations into crimes committed by israelis against palestinians and their property are closed without indictments being served, and you have organization after organization AND you have the united states who rarely goes against israel say that israel is not credible and transparent in its investigations, then you really have to question them. so sit back and try to digest some truth about israel, sweetie: 1) According to Yesh Din's annual datasheet summarizing its monitoring of hundreds of investigation files handled by the Samaria and Judea police district, 91% of investigations into crimes committed by Israelis against Palestinians and their property are closed without indictments being served. 84% of the investigation files are closed because of the investigators' failure to locate suspects and evidence. 2) Human Rights Watch said the ruling contravened international law, which is intended to protect non-combatants in war zones, and set "a dangerous precedent". "The idea that there can be no fault for killing civilians in a combat operation flatly contradicts Israel's international legal obligations to spare civilians from harm during armed conflict and to credibly investigate and punish violations by its forces," said Bill van Esveld, a senior Middle East researcher at HRW. 3) Israel’s investigation into the death of American activist Rachel Corrie was not satisfactory, and wasn’t as thorough, credible or transparent as it should have been, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro told the Corrie family this week. Shapiro responded: “For seven years, we have pressed the government of Israel at the highest levels to conduct a thorough, transparent and credible investigation of the circumstances of her death. The government of Israel has responded that it considers this case closed and does not plan on reinvestigating the incident.” 4) Shawan Jabarin, director of the Palestinian human rights organisation, Al Haq, said: "Israel has claimed that it is not responsible for the death of a civilian in armed conflict. However, this flatly ignores international law, which stipulates that Israel is under an obligation to take all measures to ensure that no civilians will be harmed during hostilities, and must at all times distinguish between military targets and civilians. of course, there is more. way more proof and statements from officials and organizations showing israel's so-called justice system failing to credibly investigate its own military.

pressure from both within israel and the u.s. are mounting on natanyahu. this latest incident is after u.s. general, martin dempsey said an israeli attack would only delay the nuclear program. Time Magazine reports number of American troops in mid-October exercise to be cut by two-thirds, in what a senior Israeli official says is a message of mistrust conveyed by Washington. According to the report in Time, however, the crews operating the Patriot missiles will not arrive in Israel as planned, and instead of the two Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense warships scheduled to arrive, only one might possible be dispatched. "Basically what the Americans are saying is, ‘We don’t trust you,’” a senior Israeli military official told the magazine. On Thursday, the Guardian reported that U.S. General Martin Dempsey said that an Israeli attack on Iran would delay but not stop its nuclear program. "I don't want to be complicit if they [israel] choose to do it," Dempsey said. link

i guess you will take the israeli kangaroo court words over your own country's words: Oded Gershon, the judge in the civil lawsuit brought by the Corrie family, ruled that the military police investigation into Corrie’s death, which found no evidence of wrongdoing, had been “properly conducted.” However the U.S. government position, communicated to the Corries in writing, has been that Israel did not keep its promise to conduct a “thorough, credible and transparent” investigation. link this says a lot about you. allowing israel to investigate its own crimes. allowing the fox to investigate the killings in the henhouse. allowing iran to investigate abuse in evin prison. allowing the US to investigate torture at abu ghraib and guantanamo. justice is never an option.

Palestinians & First Nations no Different From Anyone Else
bud replied to jbg's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
israel is signatory to the united nations and by continuously annexing land that does not belong to them, they continuously violate international law. it's not like israel annexed land once and that's it. they are doing it today. it's a systematic land grab. palestinian house demolitions continue to happen in east jerusalem and the west bank. once they demolish homes, they confiscate the land and then jewish only homes are built. put aside your tribalistic and nationalistic feelings and stop trying to justify such illegal and immoral behaviour. -
canada is in desperate need of immigrants. this need will increase even more while the big chunk of baby boomers retire. we're not having enough children to replace the workers, let alone increase our population. i don't know how someone can support a party which is anti-immigration.

damn eastwood! why? it started out kind of okay, but then he turned into a rambling old man in front of a semi-literate hysterical crowd. why would eastwood damage his credibility like this? he is treating the other option, the democrats, like it's the worse thing in the world, while showing support for the other party that receives a lot of the same big donations from corporations? why doesn't it bother eastwood that goldman sachs fuels the campaigns of both obama and romney?
