That's the problem with that line of thinking. If she's pregnant, then by definition, we are not only talking about HER body. There are two people to consider. "Her body, her choice" is simply irrational, and it makes a mockery of the very idea of human rights. You can't have any rights at all if you don't first have the right to be alive.

Please point to the part where he used the word "weak".

What part of Trump's statement is supposed to be offensive?

They been running it since 1976. This was the first time that it didn't really get TV ratings. Not coincidentally, at the same time that NHL TV ratings are cratering in Canada anyway due to the laughably bad Rogers broadcasts. All really strong teams that have given Canada multiple scares over the years. The Swiss even beat Canada a few Olympics back.
-
Of course they do. They just need to figure out ways that work for their intended audience. Like I already said earlier in this thread, many services have figured out ways to turn millions of pirates into paying customers by making the service more attractive than pirating. The content producers and/or distributors have to keep thinking of other ways to reach the others. I gladly pay for some streaming services, but I will not watch ads. Ever.
-
People skip ads on streaming services too (the ones that even have ads). With Shaw's on demand "Free Range" service, you can jump right past them without even seeing them -- just click on the slider and drag right past all of them at once.
-
2009? Come on son. A lot more than half the ads are being skipped these days.
-
Then call me a freeloader, because I will not watch ads, ever. The tech I use most often is the DVR remote, but other options are becoming more and more attractive.
-
What colour is the sky in your world? Skipping ads is really easy, and most people who DVR something are zealots about making sure to skip all of the ads.
-
Do you consider people who watch the official ad-laden content, but do not watch the commercials themselves to be freeloaders?
-
He's asking what the difference is to the broadcaster financially if you don't watch the commercials vs watching content with he commercials removed. In both cases, the advertiser does not get the thing he paid for: your viewership.

MLW poll for the 1st Presidential debate
Bryan replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Quite specifically, back on page two of this thread, I said: -
The producers need to find new ways to monetize what they do. iTunes was able to turn millions of pirates into paying customers. Netflix converted millions more. Satellite radio was able to convince a lot of people who were used to content that was ALWAYS free to pay. Many content providers are finding ways to monetize without charging their consumers directly. Those who still haven't got their target audience covered are going to have to keep thinking. People will pay if the system in place works for them. If it doesn't, they WILL just take it. Whining about them not contributing won't change that. Find another way to make money from what you're doing.

MLW poll for the 1st Presidential debate
Bryan replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I know exactly what I'm talking about. You're making crap up that has nothing to do with what I said. Everyone had the same opportunity to respond to the online polls. That's not my opinion, it's a fact. There is nothing about being a supporter of one answer or the other that makes them more able to respond. -
There are plenty of streaming sites that carry almost everything.

Yes they did. -
There are a lot more than 3 legal streaming services in Canada.

Apparently you don't know what the word biased means. Everyone had the same opportunity to respond to the same polls. There was literally no bias whatsoever. -

I'm well aware of how VPNs work. I have a couple of them. The vast majority of computer users have no idea how to use them or how they work. Or even how to delete their cookies. -
MLW poll for the 1st Presidential debate

Most of them DO use it, and they tell you that when you vote. It absolutely DOES accomplish what I suggest: giving everyone the exact same opportunity to give their opinion. -
MLW poll for the 1st Presidential debate

Most online polls track your IP and do not allow more than one vote. And EVERYONE has the same opportunity to get out the vote for the polls. The opportunity to vote is IDENTICAL for everyone. -

There's nothing about the other polls that made them more "subject to rigging" than any others. Everyone had the same opportunity to give their answer. -

You just cherry picked the few that gave the result you liked. There's nothing rigged about a poll that lets anyone vote. The results aren't scientific, for sure, but everyone has the same chance to show their support for whomever they like if they feel strongly enough to bother doing so. -
The exclusive licensing is what's holding back the sports streaming services from being ready for prime-time too. There are local blackouts, certain network blackouts, etc. I can't even count the number of times I went to watch an event on UFC Fight Pass, only to find out that it's not available live due to an agreement with a broadcast network that is either not available at all from my cable company, or is available but only in SD. Prior to that obscure channel getting the license, I could watch all those events live on Fight Pass. The best thing for me as a consumer would be for that hard-to-watch channel to go out of business and their exclusive license to go away.
