Can Israel be criticized fairly? http://middleeastinfo.org/article4621.html This si an interesting article by a well respected Jewish author. You should read it.

1.) The UN, why are we looking towards these guys for the answers, their history shows they have no real authority or ability to act. Why is the UN ineffective? Because member countreis; particularly the USA uses its veto irresponsibly. This veto should be removed. It is not used responsibly. When international laws are plainly being broken; a veto should not protect them from taking responsibility. Member states not paying their dues on time. The USA was always way behind in paying its share. It only caught up when trying to get votes to invade Iraq.

Israel should get out of Palestinian land. Any wall should have been built well within their own country. Israel has killed 3000 + Palestinians; The Palestinian terrorists have killed 1000 Israelis. Israel has a well armed military including Nuclear weapons. Palestine does not have any organized military. Israel has the complete backing of the USA. Who needs protecting from who?

[QUOTWhat is Canada’s Position on the Israel-Palestine Dispute? In April 2002, Canada denounced the Israeli offensive in the Occupied Territories and called for an immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces. Canada has also denounced the Palestinian suicide bombings. With respect to the overall peace process in the Middle East, Canada has the following official position: Supports the security, well-being, and rights of Israel as a legitimate, independent state. Supports the Israel-PLO Peace Agreement signed on September 13, 1993. Does not recognize permanent Israeli control over the territories occupied in 1967 (the Golan Heights, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip) he legitimate rights of the Palestinians must be realized. This includes the right to self-determination through peace negotiations. Recognizes the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the principal representative of the Palestinian people.E] "

You, Krust, are not worth the effort. It would be a waste of time. You still believe that Iraq had WMD

Cda Election Issue - Media Ownership
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
"Having information about politics gives you nothing (except a reputation for reading the newspaper" -
Don't count your chickens before they hatch Krusty. The terrorists are very patient and plan well ahead. There could be real problems come election time or when everyone lets his guard down and least expects it. Right now they are concentrating on fighting the USA in Iraq. I would like you to be right but I very much doubt that North America has seen the last of the terrorists. The USA did NOT have a legal right to invade Iraq. That is a very murky and devious round about path of lies and deceit. As they have managed to bully the UN into exempting them from presecution for any war crimes; they will probably get away with it. They will even get away with the torturing of prisoners by the use of a few scapegoats that were probably following orders.

Cda Election Issue - Media Ownership
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canwest not only owns most newspapers; it owns many tv and radio stations. It does dictate some editorials to it newspapers. It is right wing with the National Post being extreme right wing. This is pretty scary stuff as they decide what we should or should not be told. -
I don't think it came out with anything too unknown already; at least I knew. I know our press is quite right winged and omits a lot of information that it doesn't like. As Canwest controls most of our media; propaganda is easily spread by simply choosing which stories to run; and which to ignore. I certainly would be very worried if our government started allowing foreigners to purchase any of our media sources. Truth is hard enough to come by. These newspapers are not allowed to run independently when it comes to some editorials. My understanding is they can and do; require the papers to publish editorials that they supply. Furthermore, they are not allowed to publish letters to the editor that do not support this view. I don't believe this is all editorials but their required reading ones.

Prime Minister can learn some lessons from Mulroney: Let's hope not

Your rationalizations for Bush's actions are pathetic and desperate. I really don't care. My opinions and ideas prior to this invasion are all coming true. Others are jumping on bandwagon and realizing the truth and how they were decieved. Even Harper (Probably because he knew he couldn't get elected dog catcher supporting those views in Canada)

Was The War in Iraq Necessary
caesar replied to Alliance Fanatic's topic in Federal Politics in the United States

Krusty; you just do not seem able to comprehend the situation. Iraq and Saddam were not real players in the Terrorist actions. The Terrorists have been set aside and ignored to enable these little excursion into Iraq. The causes that have made these terrorist organizations grow is not being addressed. Time to wake up and smell the bacon. Until the causes for unrest and anger are addressed; terrorism will flourish. Attacking a country that was cooperating and destroying border line illegal weaponry is not the way to combat terrorism. You have a closed mind and are still looking for those WMD; the whole situation is beyond you; give it up. Iraq was not a terrorist country despite, however, irritatating Saddam could be. America's ally, Pakistan IS a hotbed of terrorists. Pakistan did allow its scientist to supply nuclear technologies and parts to rogue nations. Bush didn't say a word as those scientist were immediately pardoned and allowed to keep their ill gotten gains. And even that doesn't make you wonder?????

[quote:) " Bush doesn't decide what time he wakes up in the morning, it is handled by his handlers" You are probably right. I did always think he was just a puppet. He does as he is told. That is why, some have asked; "How does Bush talk, when Cheney is drinking water?" If Bush were killed; the USA does not fall apart with no leadership. Presidents (JFK) have been killed before; while in office; sad but the world keeps on and the USA keeps working: this scenario is well prepared for. He had to go practise his "serious look" in the mirror before addressing the public.
-
Don't count on it. The USA has bitten off more than it can chew this time. Hopefully, President Kerry will put them back on track. Stop over protecting and subsidizing Israel and perhaps the Middle East will get moving on cooperating and settling matters more amiably. USA meddling has only exasperated the whole situation. If the UN is so irrelevant; tell Bush to quit asking it for help. The USA was WRONG. USA Congress is recognizing that; USA Courts are recognizing that.

Here we go again - Quebec Independence
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Seabea; your thinking is not correct. English IS "part" of the majority of "Canada". That does not mean they ARE the majority in "Quebec." First; part does not mean all Second Canada does not mean Quebec. Note; even in Vancouver; English as a first language is no longer a majority. English is still the major first language in Vancouver; but is now below 50% All our provinces are semi independent on many issues. Even cities have jurisdiction in which they are independent.
