The "dumb kids" remark is entirely off base. Fortunately, we have and need people whose talents rest not in intellectual studies but in mechanics; landscaping, decorating, hairdressers, etc. These are needed workers and can be very well paid for those who are talented in these directions. I would recommend vocational school or a good apprenticeship program for those whose talents do not lay in intellectual studies. Many of these university grads do not find meaningful employment and are scared of getting their hands dirty.

That IS how a REAL democracy is supposed to work. The primeminister and other politicians are there to follow the wishes of the voters. Democracy is a year round process; not just once every 4 years on voting day. Any "experts" who know better than us (the voters) are there to educate us. For all your so called "esperts" who support this missile defense shield or any other program; there are other experts who oppose it. The message I get is NOT full support or confidence in the missile defense shield; those who want Canada to join is more concerned with Canada having more inside information on the plans and decisions that the USA will make on this dubious system that has had countless failures and any encroachment on Canadian airspace and collateral damage on Canadian soil.

Aaah, but look where this tradgedy happened. Alberta, which does not support the gun registration. Why, did the local police allow this man to carry on as he had terrorizing the neighbours with his guns???

The statements are vague and varied. I think some of what they are referring to is refugees; they are lumping all immigrants in with refugees. Most immigrants pay heavily for various procedures to allow them to live and work in Canada. Most immigrants would not be eligible for government funds. They need to have people who agree to sponsor them and take responsibility for their support to be allowed to enter Canada (or have sufficient funds themselves)

especially with the American bunch. They are a bunch of scared kids; some are barely home and returned again to this frightening situation. All the high ranking military people are sitting safe and sound in the USA; I would bet.

Well before Can West took on a monopoly of most of our media sources; we used to get more "NEWS"; now most of the articles are editorial style and very biased.

By the way; what happened to all the extensive fancy bunkers that Saddam was supposed to have. Lots of talk before the invasion. Not a word after; and where did the find Saddam in a hole barely bigger than a rabbit hole. It was all smoke and mirrors.

Army guy; wake up; even the USA concedes that there were no viable weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Saddam DID allow the inspectors in. Iraq was still cooperating with the weapons inspectors. Iraq had no ties to the terrorists that attacked the WTC. On the other hand; Pakistan (The USA's ally) does have nuclear weapons; Pakistan's scientists sold nuclear technologies and parts to "rogue" nations (pardoned and allowed to keep their ill gotten gains) Pakistan did/does harbour many terrorist groups. Note; Iraq was an invasion; no war was declared!!!! The USA invasion of Iraq has only succeeded in bringing terroristic groups into Iraq. Why was the USA able to turn over government power to the people in Afghanistan almost immediately despite the fact that the country is a hotbed of terrorist groups? Why did it take so long to do the same in Iraq. Wouldn't be because fghanistan had no viable resources to secure while Iraq has all the OIL????????

Yeah, that's why we kept voting him in and why everyone world wide finally knew who our Prime Minister was. We could sure use another strong, straight speaking prime minister like Trudeau again.

Health Care is administerd by the provinces; The feds have given them the extra money. It is now the Provinces who must step up to the plate and spend the mney wisely. Fat Chance of that happening> ( When they want the money with "no strings attached" has a bit of a fishy smell) The Liberal minority government has only been in office a few months; what exactly do you expect? Miracles. The Liberals may not be perfect or even good but I am sure feeling safer than I would with someone like the Bush follower Harper at the helm.

What has one thing to do with another. Soldiers and/or police should and do have guns; The concern is that they use them intelligently and not sshoot anything that moves. The USA has more so called "friendly fire" incidents than any other nation. They didn't shoot to disable the vehicle before it got too close; they shot the occupants. Many Iraqi citizens have suffered the same fate. Now the Bulgarians believe that one of their soldiers has been killed by the Americans in a frindly fire incident. Remember our own soldiers in Afghanistan and their senseless deaths.
