Chretien wasted $2 Billion and nothing to show for.
Shwa replied to Saipan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well obviously the NFA is a total failure, they can't police themselves even, look at all the guns that are being used by criminals in Toronto. We need the registry to cut down on crime. Guns kill people. Don't forget to include yourself. -

Thanks for proving my point. Again. -

No doubt. Since you can't make any sense, "fun" would be the next logical step. -

You should contact Greg or Charles since you seem to love the moderator role so much. Maybe, if you don't a moderator position, you could try for the boss position. -
Skin colour matters in access to good jobs: study

The Europeans murdered 6 million Jews, among other racist atrocities. Saying it's "non-existent" is too dumb to be funny. -
Correction: the mayor is neither "poor" nor "little" and, judging from the over-compensating behaviour, likely not too "hard" either.

Skin colour matters in access to good jobs: study
Shwa replied to Shwa's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I am not quite sure how your numbers above reflect the gist of the report. You are being quite specific in a limited category while the report is looking at things overall. Did you crunch all the numbers in those tables to arrive at your averages or just rest your argument on one selected category? And, if so, what was your rationale for that one category? For what it's worth, I found that a selective look at the numbers shows the exact opposite with a little comparison: 1st generation non-visible minority male 15-24 years old, with low education working some of the time made $9,178. 3rd generation, visible minority male 45-64 years old, highly educated, working full time $120,706. So skin colour certainly isn't a factor here. -

No, I think some nutcases shouldn't own firearms. There needs to be tighter restrictions especially for those that are so consistently and emotionally volatile about the issue. -

Hey, not so. Our city just had a major stadium upgrade and a new full sized indoor turf fieldhouse. Stimulus money is pretty nice. But then again, whose idea was it? -

Yeah but this is the *new* Liberal Party. Those things were all about Chretien and the Liberal Party got him replaced. Try and keep up. -
Interesting story from today's Star: Skin colour matters in access to good jobs: study Well, it is possible that if we get rid of that long-form census, that should take care of the problem... But this piqued my curiousity and I sometimes wonder if the editorial staff even read through some of the articles they allow... The use of the word "voice" when talking about skin colour.

Yes, allow your children to run with scissors, play between parked cars or wander out onto thin ice is good parenting because you want to give them "a choice."

Absolutely not, since Creationism - and all that it entails - can only be taught as fact. Science can allow for a godhead - if it is proven. Creationism cannot allow for a non-godhead, as evidenced. So there is no debate at all really. If Creationism was a scientific theory - and you somehow truly believed it - then it would be incumbent on you to disprove it and by doing so either discover the truth of it or revise it to conform to the evidence. Creationists always paint themselves into the same corner. It is likely statistically predictable. Bit and pieces of displaced evidence here and there do not make or break any sound theory. There are always anomolies in practically every study or theory. That is what science is all about and makes it so interesting. Creationism is an unsound theory because it ignores the greater body of evidence and relies on bits and pieces of displaced or otherwise unexamined evidence. Your personal faith may mean something to you, internally, but to science, externally, it means nothing. Nothing since I have been there done that. Creationism, as a theory, is unsound. Evolution, as a theory, is more sound. Thus if you want to prove that Creationism is an sound theory you have to first accept that, as a theory it can - and usually will be - changed and replaced by something better in the future, and that you must support efforts to disprove it. Otherwise you would be dishonest and nothing more than an alchemist with a fancy notion. I could care less about Dawkins or Wright really. They hold no authority over anything except perhaps a political debate about some small branch of social theory inspecting a small population sample. Meh. Dawkins isn't my "preacher" anymore than Wendy Wright is your preferred dominatrix. Oh, you are stuck at introspection when I am offering extrospection. If you take that as a personal attack then perhaps you may wish to re-examine what doctors and nurses are actually doing to you when they give you a needle. That is a "personal attack" as well. Not at all. The only thing I demand of you is that you give equal billing to my impression - my "theory" - of you as you give to your own impression yourself. One would think that someone who demands that the unsound theory of Creationsim be taught "alongside" the sound theories of science, would recognize they ought to practice what they preach. Further more, it's a feeble explanatory narrative to begin with. Santa Claus? Eh? Santa Claus, yep. One explanatory hero narrative is as good and valid as any other don't you think?

Excellent rant kimmy! She got meme'd and now we are paying for it. What the world needs now is good old authentic 70's spitting and bleeding punk to high-e ring people's ears into sensibility. Don't make it bad, make it BAD.

There are now more Hispanics in California schools than any other grouping. Hispanic numbers are rising rapidly throughout a number of states. And where their numbers rise they're demanding acknowledgment and power, and that includes language rights. Now I have nothing particular against Hispanics but they are a different culture. And their numbers are expected to rise to 30% of the US population by 2050. Why should Americans not have the right to be concerned about that? Mexico might have lost the war but it looks like they're taking back the US bit by bit. Because wars aren't the sole determinant of successful populations, breeding lots of babies is. As far as the "hispanics" are concerned, one angle is to look at them as people who as simply migrating back to their ancient and traditional homelands. And having lots and lots of babies while doing so. It won't be long before that part of America is adapting since that is one of the greatest things about America. Think about that the next time you are eating your pizza pie or Chinese food. Or munching on a chimichanga.

It IS taught - that it is an unsound theory based on subjective narrative. And this is taught at an appropriate age. They teach about Santa Claus and Easter Bunny too, but these cute little stories eventually take their place with the structure of literature. And this has what to do with the discussion on hand? Have you been to confession lately? It is taught - as an unsound theory. Plenty of unsound theories are taught as is the progression of ideas from the less developed to the more developed within a given period and structure of understanding. Where you err is that you believe that unsound theories should get equal footing with sound theories. This is like saying alchemy should be given equally billing to chemistry. When I say your foundation is more like sand than rock, I am referring to you personally because you don't appear to be the type for self-introspection for any length of time. The fact that you thought I was referring to some group you belong too leads me to believe that your "faith" is simply a social mechanism you use to combat your loneliness and fear of loneliness. Now before you start your inevitable protest how wrong I am, I demand that you give my impression of you equal billing with your impression of yourself.

Where does the money come from for First Nations to buy the filtration units?
-
Now we're talkin'!
-
Nope. They push critical and open minded thinking. You are just mistaking this for "leftists/atheistic views and agendas" because open-mindedness threatens the base upon which you rest your faith. And from what I have read so far that foundation is more sand that rock. Why do you think that is? Nope, it has been hijacked by the fundamental principles of freedom of conscience and thought. My kid's public high school even has a Christian Club that was well attended and respected by those who are taught to respect differences.
-
But you offering speculation as fact that denotes a lack of critical thinking. Christians DO fund their own schools and daycares and in Ontario we have the Catholic separate school board and that is as Christian is anyone can get. I mean, this is "The Church" we are talking about, not some pouty little sect that went on their own way because they wanted to change their doctrines to accomodate political correctedness. Because, as you might notice with a casual read of Eurpean history, it was once very politically incorrect to talk bad about The Church. I believe they had a word for it, ah yes, they called it 'heresy.'

Yes, your point is indeed "simple."

Guilty: Harper Government Found in Contempt of Parliament
Shwa replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Exactly and while rabid CPC supporters revise the precision of the word 'contempt' every few days or so to keep their beloved party on the right side of God. Otherwise, the other 95% will be hearing about it no doubt, when the Liberals start their ad compaign on television. I am thinking the CPC should call an election right now before they self-destruct from their own doing. -
I know a woman who broker her hand on a Tuesday night, was into the fracture clinic on the Wednesday and into surgery on the Thursday. Mind you, she had to wait a few hours to get the surgery. All this at the region's busiest hospital at the time of year when it seems everyone and their gramma is breaking their hands or wrists.

But his scruples were good enough for the Tories.
