  1. It is fairly obvious if looking to countries like Jordan and Turkey that the importance of untapped resources is vital to taking on refugees. I've looked at the convention I think forced sterilization and other forced reproductive controls fits the gamut of refugee basis. Now bear in mind there are those in Canada who would like to sterilize sexual predators, and I think with consent it may be a good way to go. But forced sterilization of alleged sex offenders think Milgard for example is problematic. None the less, it is a gender targetting activity. None the less the ruling makes it fairly clear" http://www.hrcr.org/safrica/freedom_security/chan_canada.html I think the idea of for instance yourself being forced to have a visectomy because the government didn't want you to have children. I would consider that persecution if I wanted to have children. This is worse imo than forced circumcision. Which can be found here http://utflr.law.utoronto.ca/utfl_file/count/media/UTLFR/utflr51/17_51UTorontoFacLRev277(1993).pdf That is babies being sent to their death. But no right there you are wrong because there isn't the basis of take the Chinese woman who wants to have kids return the Syrian who rebelled against their government, of perhaps not even rebelled just feared for their life due to total chaos in their origin. There is no threshold there. Its either valid or not. But the government needs to be prepared. It can't just sit by and see countries be torn appart or even bomb or fund attacks in foreign countries then not to expect there to be fallout in terms of refugees by the chaos they create. Not everyone has a monogomous relationship or child from a monogamus relationship. Not every parent is from a normative family context, and not every man is straight, nor is every woman. You are over generalizing. Refugees arn't immigrants, no the government has human rights to uphold it owes nothing to immigrants they are guests until citizens then they have equal rights more or less with other Canadians. Refugees are a somewhat protected class by international law first and Canadian law second as a means to meet its international responsibilities. This would get too complex to discuss if economics were involved, basically no. Population increase does not create unemployment. Yes I think refugees with resources should be accommodated first because they will likely bring something to the nation and be prepared to be self supporting in Canada. Well that just means there is bad policing and not enough monitoring of refugees, which there should be more of, espcially if they are suppose to be protected. None the less, they are innocent until proven guilty. People will not resort to crime if they have legal means of livelyhood. The bottom line imo, yes the policy of needing to pay to avoid having your reproductive capacity removed is pretty much a clear violation of human rights in Canada. Now sure there are issues because China has so many people and Canadians may feel issued that taking on all Chinese people who fear being sterilized due to the numbers of Chinese people facing that. None the less it is justified for Canada to do so. Personally I don't think China would sterilize Chinese people in Canada if Canada was part of China. Its a resource issue over there. Quebec PAYS people to have children. Likewise the baby bonus has been a long form of paying people for having children in Canada. In China they pay to not be sterilized. That is very much a class bias. None the less, it would be very strange if a one child policy were enacted in Canada, I think there would be outrage by many. What this all amounts to is that yes if foreign governments take on certain policies which violate human rights and create persecution Canada should be prepared to hand out get into Canada free cards, BUT the whole system would need to be changed on how refugees are processed into Canada, that being refugee camps would need to be established like seen in the third and second worlds. Countries facing influx of persons is not non existent, even France has set up camps for Roma. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/geography/population/managing_population_rev3.shtml
  2. I dunno Nato attacked afghanistan for a decade for less. If I were Assad I would be fresh out of chemical weapons and delivery agents after the past years events. Then again I'm a confrontationalist, something Assad is not. I'm also more depraved and fundamental than Assad, he was actually a pretty good leader, he galvinized various cultures within Syria to create a nuanced state within the middle east one where Kurds, Shiites Sunnis and Palestinians could all live together with Christians. I can't imagine what Syria will become now that all parties are radicalized and drawing upon cultural lines, Kurds, Shiites, Sunnis, refugees. None the less I think that there is a couple more months of battles this summer it doesn't seem like Aleppo is switching to any single party over night.. now that the rebels and their friends are super stocked with heavy weapons it will be interesting.. none the less its a geurrilla war in one of the worlds biggest cities. .... i think this will drag on for atleast a week if not longer. This is just turning into another Grozny. The next week should be a critical point to determine if the war will move again. The US and other friends are training more refugees to go back and fight so Assad has to keep killing them if he is going to win the war of attrition, he has to kill them faster than they are trained. With 1.6 million refugees there is a potential of a lot more war dead. if even 5% of those are rebel supporters like 50k plus if 10% that is as much as the canadian military. that is just the rebels, and syria has a smaller population than canada. Of course NATO recruiting in refugee camps is sort of questionable conduct to say the least. example. http://www.infowars.com/un-propaganda-asset-angelina-jolie-treks-to-syrian-refugee-camp/ imagine fighting for the rebels or being killed or targetted by CIA and MI5 as an assad sympathizer.wow talk about pressure to fight in the war... its almost like conscription. Isn't refugee suppose to not be somewhere you will be pressed into military service by a foreign state or become a target in the war.
  3. Well it seems Canada is completely absent from the Friends of Syria meetings.
  4. We'll I'm not sure I understand your position, there are a lot of untapped resources in Canada, it would just present an oppourtunity to tune up the refugee system in Canada. Also there is no women shortage in China. There are too many people in China and it will take a few more decades to remove that. China has come a long way and has even started to allow more than one child in specific areas to insure there will be enough people to care for the current elderly. I do think forced sterilization, in Canada, is a bygone concept that was put to sleep for good reasons. Although I do support optional sterilization for sexual predators as a means to allow them release back into society if their crime is due to physiology, China and other overpopulated areas could resolve their issues by population mobility. IMO canada can support a much larger immigrant population, about 3% annually, if tied into the growth rate, based on availability of basic goods, matched with refugee programs to produce basic goods. However yes I realize that this will mean less work for Canadians but Canada for its size is immensely underpopulated, the problem is government is incapable of managing any real programs other than paper pushing and seat sitting these days, it is a long time since colonization and the founding of canadas communities a few centuries ago. The government really can't manage anything these days they are only good for insulting people with different opinions on who to give the stolen money to. Personally i don't think it is likely. I don't think they will, although some might I don't think it will come anywhere close to even a few thousand people. IMO even if more should. Safer than Syrian refugees can't claim Canada ain't doing its part. It is a delicate issue for sure. IMO we should be pushing for open borders, and well managed way that opens the borders to the highest bidders up to the growth rate. While setting a quota for refugees and sponsered immigrants. based on the ability for programs to support them without cost to the tax payers.
  5. we'll not exactly the truth. It is a bit of a ROC idea, more or less anyone in privy council can ask the GG to call new elections, arguably anyone can. Of course a sitting PMs advice is often seen as gold, since the PM is more or less tasked with managing the oversight of government for parliament. The GG could even do it on their own advice, although they might have some explaining to do. "reserve power" It just so happened everyone was for an election except the liberals, who supported the conservative government, or atleast did not try to oppose them. Guess they were paying back the conservatives for the period 10 years.
  6. Harbs case is a little different he was approved for his house in advance. It wasn't a oh I didn't know its not ok, its a you guys said it was ok now you have changed your mind so I need to put my house up for sale.
  7. I don't get why they don't just build their own stuff with unemployed workers. If all these companies are closing down theres got to be skill labour to scoop up. The government should be able to make its own stuff. Why do tax dollars always have to be funneled to private enterprises for their profit? Let the private sector run itself but leave public dollars to the public. If no one party profits then there is no scandal. it may sound real complex but some basic manufacturing tools could be retooled with each government work order needed. these contracts will go ahead anyway because the government can't run doing nothing right yet, but personally I think that this tax the public and give it away to the rich stuff needs to stop. especially when there is favouritism. its just a form of embezzlement.
  8. on the contrary the morality of it is shocking. I support it, all be it, I think that citizenship laws may need to be amended. and we need to insure there is work so there is food so they should be ready to work too. It just isn't realistic without forcing them to work. and we ought limit it to women who have not gone into menopause and really do want children. and we may need to insure there are settlement locations available. but lo it seems she is only one of 500 million women in china that want to flee china over this. we needn't go back to the days of the chinese head tax. none the less it seems it is just one case.. so if there were many then follow up may be needed to prevent canada turning into a communist state run by the chinese, women. Canadian men might feel overwhelmed as a result of any mass immigration.
  9. how many women are there in china? what is 1.48 x 47.7% probably well over 500 million... I'm a little confused here did Canada just say any woman from China who isn't allowed to have children can get refugee status in Canada? wow. what about men who arn't allowed to impregnate women?
  10. work isn't the nation. if there were only economic concerns in parliament this may be a valid comment but the PM doesn't run the Bank of Canada or the businesses that are creating those jobs. The federal government is cutting jobs not making them. http://www.hilltimes.com/news/news/2013/05/06/feds-eliminated-more-than-15000-public-service-jobs-last-year-pco-report/34650 Also they are taxing businesses and people to line their own pockets. They are just funneling money to people they favour it has nothing to do with the economy. Wake up the social fabric is more important than the economy, the economy runs itself, canada is not a command economy nation. It is a free market capitalist country. The only way the government effects the economy is a question of how much it rapes from rate payers. Yeah I guess the PM is responsible for the Alberta flood too because his social policies angered god. Thats it right. Your logic does not compute. All the policies equate is more and more offloading burdon and hardship on the poor without providing any anti poverty plan. This is not glorious whatsoever, and they deserve the hell they will be delivered to. They are strung out on each others appearance and their own selfish cult head games, while the nation festers into apathy and moral abscess. That is not good government it is ignorant and cancerous. Parliament needs to address the nations issues not their own popularity concerns, it is revolting. Government creates waste by taking money from people, they are not making jobs they are cutting jobs. STOP YOUR LIES. Cabinet doesn't work for the public anyway, its all their own interests. Meanwhile they are taking money from your pocket for no work performed for you. They do nothing. Make an appearance in Britain to bad talk the second most powerful nuclear states leader, and insult the opposition of a foreign country? I could do that for free. Fact is they are leeching off the public, most of the crap they do has no need, and then they hike their own pay rates to executive class. They are out of touch, and just price gouging people. Of course the golden lining is gone now, they are pledging to stop the 50 billion dollar annual debt loan "budgets" so now people will realize they just borrowed money you could have borrowed yourself to be happy. Now you will pay till you die that amount plus interest. CONGRATULATIONS... 400 BILLION DOLLARS OF DEBT LATER... that is 20,000 dollars for everyone.. was that enough to buy you off? Because if you didn't get your $20,000 you got ripped. I'm sure not everyone got a cheque for $20,000 to get those government services they borrowed for. Maybe some people got more, but I'm guessing more people got nothing. You mean that 1 million people got to do things that didn't need to be done for no economic growth and a downturn in the economy? Isn't that wonderful economic management. Its not the number of people employed its the economic growth, infrastructure development and long term quality of life gains that matter. AND NOT JUST FOR THE PEOPLE WITH THE MONEY, that being the economy is not measure simply by the upper classes wellbeing.. there are other human beings too. Your take is like waving a bone infront of a dog before you blow its head off. You like bone don't you... come here rover. POW! That is what they did to the hard working Canadians.. they ruined their future. DEAD.. they are DEAD. None the less one can question how the government has positioned Canadians for the future. We must not fixate on today but rather plan for the future. A government that wants glory while Rome burns will not survive. Taking money from people while private businesses employ people, is not making jobs, it is taking money. And that is exactly what the charity that is the federal government had to do. Don't try to distort what your dear leader has actually done to Canadians, ROBBED THEM to fund his house, his security, his aircraft, his meals, etc.. that is what he did, don't lie to the public, its not their fault they didn't get a well enough funded education. IF YOU DON"T GET IT THEY UNDER THREAT OF MURDER AND ROBBERY TAKE MONEY FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY EMPLOYED, THEN THEY BORROW FROM THE PEOPLE WITH THE PROMISE TO ROB MORE MONEY FROM THE PUBLIC. That isn't making work, that is being more organized than the mob. HEY if you want a success story, maybe they can "earn money" without robbing people? They need to wake the hell up and realize most people don't want to pay taxes, and they could do without funding the PMs house, security and other concerns. Maybe if the PM wants to be a hero, he can not resort to robbing the public and borrowing money to pay for his own indulgence. This latest flood is just a further example of how NOT serving the Canadian public the guy is.. he more or less insulted Quebec and the maritimes when the suffered their flood, now he is flying out to Alberta bringing in the military and pandering to them as they are his people. The guy isn't about Canadians, he doesn't know what that means. Laying any responsibility on the guy for anything synonymous with Canadians is blindness, aside from Failure. Maybe its better not to be a leader than a BAD LEADER. No one wants the legacy of being the first lemming in line.
  11. OH MY GAWD he is a public speaker, he has a speaking fee, it is a job...they hired him to work for them. THERE IS NO CONTROVERSY here. Some speakers like bill clinton or other notables get paid WAY MORE... fact is they didn't need to hire him. he didn't force them to hire him. Its like hiring a painter then saying, the painter is an MP he should paint for free cause he is a public figure...? LOMG... I could use some MP's here, I got some structures to get fixed up and some yard work.... where's my whip? I wish more MPs worked for a living so that the tax payer could pay them less to survive cause it is already just padded anyway. Charities and not for profits not only pay other services but also themselves.. now are the employees of that charity getting paid? Hmm? Maybe they should donate all their pay to the charity and work for free? Did you know lots of charities pay their staff... are you suggesting all people who work for charities work for nothing? Please say you are if this is the case if you criticize the guy. Did you see liberal leadership debts, they were huge for people, earning money is part of the big business of politics in canada, if people didn't donate their own money to their campaigns they would end up run by corporate interests completely. I applaud the guy for working for a living. Rather than living exclusively off the public purse like other MP's and ministers.
  12. Marijuana is legal you just can't possess it without a license, also you cannot grow it without a license. Its not illegal to inhale. eg. traffiking - illegal, distributing, illegal, growing - illegal, possessing illegal. INHALING -NOT ILLEGAL. oddly other drugs are like that too... now the question may be how much can you have in you without you turning into an illegal, or is it only that way in the US? wow and this just 10 days ago. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/ahc-asc/media/nr-cp/_2013/2013-79-eng.php
  13. apparently the stop signs are for Harper STOP HARPER
  14. Yeah this is just like the media being paid off.. none the less its in the past volunteer as an election worker if you want fair elections maybe the top two parties will let you, cause you know they pick the staff.. regardless they insure only the elite people with a few thousand dollars to flush down the toilet on auditors will be able to run, if an accountant lets them. but that is free elections in canada, chances are you will get an insider anyway. Maybe you can vote for a party that doesn't pick who you can vote for. That might be a move towards representation. If you don't know them personally chances are either you arn't involved locally or they arn't involved locally... they are just going to rape you anyway. its all rigged. they control the transmission
  15. I dunno he doesn't answer his emails. As if I'd judge my perception of someone based on third party hearsay.
  16. ok so what is the return on this 350 million subsidy.. to american companies. How much income do workers get, how much of that is taxable.. The federal government subsidizing american controlled corporations is counter productive to the Canadian economy. how much is actually going to be returned to the federal government? Its a bit like saying I'll invest $100,000 in stock and get $30,000 back in dividends and the stock resale... math does not compute. making a grand minus seventy thousand in the exchange. people who invest that way end up bankrupt. Is that what you suggest for the federal government? go ahead show the figures. giving money to american companies doesn't make much sense, why should Canadians be giving money away to Lockheed martin investors? Also if you then take into account P&W contracts under the premise of pay 16 billion by buying the aircraft or we won't give you that 5 million in taxes.. doesn't make much sense mathimatically also. how does subsidizing UTC help the canadian economy, it sounds more like it will kill the canadian economy in favour of us control of the canadian economy by americans. your logic makes no sense http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Technologies_Corporation This isn't empty rhetoric I'd like an answer.
  17. Yes but these were not Canadians wars, they were NATO wars. Yes but this is about preference, and no, that is not the case, non representative government is not their government, it is someone elses government, they didn't vote for them. Sure if they are ordered by the governor general unless they want to refuse. None the less its not the country's dirty work, it is the UN or NATO's usually which represents US war strategy in every case provided. Of course Canada is part of NATO and the UN, however when was the last time Canada actually declared war... the impetus has been international calls led by the west, Canadians are not traditionally the ones to beat the war drums. You can say Canadians' hands are bloody but in reality in no way does government or military actions represent their wishes. People of coures can present passive resistance, and some antiwar people might do that, most Canadians however just distance themselves from the actions of their government, the government doesn't represent them. That is it right there the government is a seperate class, its not a representative government, it is little more than a professional class. It really has no legal point of representation, even the MPs out there are often just representing their voters not the public. Sure if they are ordered by the governor general unless they want to refuse. 18. Canada sees its airplanes as means of airdefence for interception, as opposed to the US who sees them as a means to bomb other countries and achieve air superiority. This is part of the reason why many Canadians do not like the f35 it is a stealth strike fighter, not an interceptor which since arrow times has been the role of Canadian jets. The whole idea of using Canada's small wing or two of jets to attack other countries as opposed to defend Canadian airspace works contrary to the peace loving doves. Canada is a country of doves not hawks. Its only since 911 that the minority majority has imposed its will on the other 60% of Canadians. You got to realize the current government does not represent the majority of the public, especially for foreign affairs matters. The majority is opposed to Canada going to war. This is much different in the US where large blocks of Americans want Islamic blood 12 years later The war drum is being deadened though now with there being a relative split or opposition to arming the syrian rebels. Also I suppose that with new leadership in Iran, the war drum will also deaden, this means that procurements in general will be acceptable to reduce. So a whole lot is going to be on the chopping block, and procurement wise the f35 is the fall guy. The US has also reduced and killed its own orders.. its not odd that other countries are doing the same since it is a US program. It seems nato in syria for instance is all about doing as much collatoral damage as possible http://www.debka.com/article/23054/First-European-NATO-heavy-arms-for-Syrian-rebels-Russian-reprisal-expected as you can see the afghanistan war equipment (including that lost by Canadian shipping methods) is now showing up in Syria... but f35's well was is the Jordanian no fly zone being made with... It is also suprising that Libyan weapons are also being transfered to Syria by Nato... its really a convergence in black resources.. very preplanned. f35 has only now started its missile tests... this is important to look at as well .. does the US or other militaries have the intention of fielding the f35 to Jordan or Turkey or Israel? http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Security-Industry/2009/01/20/Can-the-US-F-35-fighter-destroy-Russias-S-300-systems/UPI-39001232464740/ As appears obvious the timeline for impossing a no fly zone will be very in line with when flight testing is done and "combat tests" begin... perhaps with Syria as a "selling ponit" look that nasty air defence system.. it can't hit us... The American Lockheed Martin F-35 stealth Lightning Joint Strike Fighter is designed to destroy Russia's S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, Read more: http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Security-Industry/2009/01/20/Can-the-US-F-35-fighter-destroy-Russias-S-300-systems/UPI-39001232464740/#ixzz2WbdMMlP4 and all so close since Jordan Turkey and Israel all border the very small territory in which the f35 can operate in full stealth..more or less... the strike missions on Syria are the program selling point there is no doubt. " The computer simulations have demonstrated that the Lightning can defeat Russia's S-300 in combat."
  19. however its stealth will be cancled if it carries anything externally and it will then perform worse than the f-18 above.
  20. Just a side note not really related to the discussion Well foreign affairs has stated that 40-60 Canadians may be fighting with the rebels.. death count is not known. Sorry that may be Public Safety Canada has stated..... I think attributing foreign affairs was not right, foreign affairs may not have commented on what Public Safety has commented on. also these guys don't look like Blue Berets http://www.thestarphoenix.com/news/story.html?id=8507521 None the less, I think the whole thing is vastly underreported and not fully in context to the ongoings by western states within Syria, or atleast western states citizens in Syria. Once again the reality of Canadian involvement whether sancationed or unsanctioned by the government of Canada seems a reality that Canadians need to accept.
  21. http://www.leaderpost.com/news/Conservative+accuses+Elections+Canada+investigators+malice/8521083/story.html So it seems like the sentiment being put out by the conservatives is that elections Canada really shouldn't interfere in Parliament, and their mandate is only for monitoring election fraud not enforcing the rules of the elections act. Now it is odd the Conservatives have a majority so I guess bodies like Elections Canada really have no place medling in Parliament because of election fraud issues.... can you believe this coming out of a supposed western democracy. scary very scary "we won our dictatorship we make the rules even the rules that apply to the past..." its your own fault for taking 5 years to bring it up three elections later. Its not our fault the ritalin ran out in 1912 for the judicature. "Yeah so I cheated in grade 5 I'm in grade 8 now, you can't say I failed then and changed the records in the office so now I can't keep going to school, thats not fair. " Elections just arn't votes its just like law convincing people you are the winner. This is the same government that can be quoted as saying "Freedom comes in the form of a 50 dollar bill." Its not our fault the judges have to read every single previous case of elections fraud before they can make a judgement.. we didn't commit all those frauds. Yeah I the sentiment feels something like that.
  22. apparently the latest polling reports are saying at his midway he has suffered the third largest marjority government drop in polls in Canada's history only outdone buy mulrooney/mulrooney and I'm not sure if the other was Louis St. Laurent. It was a globe and mail article though.
  23. apparently it is what he had done every thursday.. you know thor's day. apparently it was just anew officer on the gate that thought MP's had to obey traffic laws. cause stop sings on private properties arn't real stop signs.. I did the same thing on the american side of the ambassdor bridge, but its not a real bridge you know its private property so traffic laws don't apply
  24. Yeah so ironically 15 countries had troops have troops stationed in Jordan, including Canadians, and the US has now said it will arm Syrian rebels, and there is talk of a no fly zone from Jordan, to facilitate foreign military training facilities for Syrian rebels... so as to protect recruits fleeing Syria... http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/06/10/canadian-military-in-jordan-for-exercise-amid-reports-assads-forces-in-syria-on-verge-of-breakthrough/ I found it interesting that GC now seems adverse to involvement from when this post was first made, and now it seems like US involvement in Syria will escalate... Of course there is the "hidden story" that very few know about. None the less it seems very interesting in Syria and Turkey lately with so much press coverage, well press coverage. Also the impending assault on Aleppo and surrounding areas seems interesting. When will the assault begin? Will weapons be there or get there in time? Aleppo and the North seems like a very curcial point with battles being brought in force to Homs and Aleppo projected? And what of Canada, guarding NATO and Gulf State Jets positioned in Jordan? Odd very odd... but when is Parliament due to go into recess? I have the feeling any change in Canadian involvement will happen between now and then... or will be kept secret in Nato's secret war strategy drawn up by the Pentagon and the NSCC. US has had special forces observor teams in the area for a while. Now did those patriots, and fighter jets and 4500 us forces... arrive totally unknown of the proclamation of the red line being crossed and a no fly zone being enforced, my gosh, this is one of those weird coincidences... US just happened to have the forces it needed right there in Jordan... because of this war game that had nothing to do with events in Syria.
  25. Some people don't like blood transfushions either, this doesn't mean people not of that religion or culture shouldn't be able to get them. Really we need to remove the legal oversight of medicine and lifestyle from government. If doctors who conform to their professional ethics and other important professional standards, and no one but the client and the person performing the procedure, its really no one elses business. As long as everyone is informed and consenting adults whatever. Canada is a secular country, it is suppose to be free. We don't need other people policing our values. They should stick to managing their own. We need to remove the medical field completely from union with government, we need to do the same for lifestyle and concentrate government protecting peoples rights not removing them.Public safety should be the only major concern, public safety does not include enforcing religious or cultural values on others. It is about insuring that people are not violated by others. That means protection of the environment, and for peoples wishes to be respected by not having forced associations, and to be bound by force to laws they did not consent to infringe those liberties, and for their personal security to be protected in public places, and in their own private places. The definitely means though that peoples wishes not to be forced to medical procedure should be respected, much the same as people shouldn't have sex forced on them.
