  1. I actually support some form of records keeping, to both track the money and the people in case of sexual disease. However people really shouldn't be sleeping around with anyone without knowing their sexual history, and it is relatively reasonable to ask for a health clearance from anyone sleeping with many different partners. Frankly though what this will do is create the underground trade of cheap whores and high class escorts, as illegal vs. legal. This is a bit like doing a one night stand thing regularly which some people do. I do think this should be optional but any sane person is going to need to get checkups if they are a prostitute, this may just mean a 6 month medical or a monthly medical, but it should be totally tax deducatable as a business expense. The thing is though that even with condoms, there is still a chance of STI's, luckly many STIs are manageable. but you should look to STI rates in prostitutes vs. non prostiutes and you might find a correlation that prostitutes have a greater chance of contracting and transmitting those illnesses. That is a public health danger, and will drip over to the public purse in terms of treating outbreaks of STIs. This is why I think both a record of clients that is cross referenced with the new ehealth database is important so the root of the infection is found especially for serious illness. Making checkups and STI treatments tax deductible for registered sex workers, may help prevent spill over in the trade to the general public. I think really provinces should establish separate bills to help manage the profession, in how it relates to public health because the profession does represent public health concerns because it deals with the body much like dentists, doctors, other health care providers, corrections officers and others. It should be lumped in with the health sector, under recreation and rehabilitation. Perhaps even coverable as a form of therapy or other such extended health benefits. You see articles like this pop up all the time. http://www.webmd.com/sex-relationships/guide/10-surprising-health-benefits-of-sex
  2. The main issue is proceeds from prostitution not going to the prostitute. Exploitation could enter the picture if that were the case, and that is the main problem. Although business does this all the time with agents and suppliers and distributors taking cuts, due to the history of prostitution, pimping and sex slaves, this is in part why the courts went the way they went with it.
  3. yes, it is. women or men should be able to have consensual sex for money. if not I say we ban premarital sex too. and adultery. we can go right back to no anal, only missionary too, lets ban porn and all forms of indecscent displays, kissing in the public. and only holding hands if there is a chaperoned right. maybe we should poll the taliban see what is vogue with them right now. Hold on but lets see what was the result of that in the 1800's.. oh well poor women were housed sometimes at government expense... and what did the public get from it... less sex? Canada isn't a monestary. regardless of if people live their life all celebate or everyone has to marry to have sex, or at least sex partners can't be rewarded for giving out. well geuss what its like money or love, or whatever, some people like different things. Some people can use money rather than dinner and a movie. some people don't like going dutch. None the less last I saw prostitution is legal in Canada, and income is taxed. Bottom line though.. if people don't have partners they should be able to have partners. Its sad really. Some people have more time to make money than foster relations with the opposite sex. What is the difference between having a wet dream and paying for a hooker other than cash out of hand.. fact is its a material loss either way. Its not like god doesn't force guys to have accidents anyway. Other people shouldn't be forced to live a celibate life if they don't want to. The real issue is non consenual sex and corruption related to the sex industry. People should be able to make their own choices on why and who they have sex with. Government has no place in the bedrooms of the nation, or motel rooms, or wherever else in calls and outcalls are taking place these days. All in all though this issue doesn't effect me, I neither prostitute nor use prostitutes. Give people what they want, and they will be full or want more, thats all there is to good government. We all die anyway. We don't need government restricting our freedom or telling us we need to live a certain way if we arn't hurting no one but ourselves by choice. Even the religiously pious damaged the flesh to cleans the spirit. People can make those choices for themselves. One can only hope that God create people with lives that they dislike, because that wouldn't be good. If people were presented with their needs for a good life we wouldn't be forced to the shackles of a government that tried to restrict our freedom to insure their values are upheld. Government manages freedom, and that is wrong, they should be managing the free. But lets get straight this illegal stuff is just to shut hoars up from saying who they are sleeping with because men don't want to admit they are paying for it, especially to their wives. None the less prostitution is legal, and in Canadian law yes it should be legal, Canada is suppose to be non denominational, and prostitution is just a remnant of a religious value system that should be left to individuals to be part of or not. Morality in a non denominational governance is one that allows people to decide for themselves in how they choose to live their life, so long as it does not infringe the liberties of others. That is a free society and anything short of that is not Canadian, it is corruption.
  4. You just can bring it with you into the polling station right...Party colours right. Hold on but would that make the Canadian flag liberal propaganda?
  5. Not much here, but I think the public deserves to know why the government is hiding job descriptions and pay and compensation from the public. There could be a reasonable reason but just killing the info without providing sound reasons is wholely political and not about public interests. I loathe autocrats and bureaucrats running government it is a failure for the people. No suprise but I applaud Brent Rathgeber for taking a stand on his principles, The public deserves answers, this is just a stonewall on information disclosure without cause, and that is a shame that the government is hiding that information. If they came back and said, it is a national security risk or that is classified information for x or y reason it might be a valid course of action, but it seems it is just about totalitarian police state tactics of information control for propaganda purposes.
  6. Its BS, laws mean nothing especially those that violate the constitution. The law is invalid, anything which effects the health and safety of humans is criiminal conduct, the directors of that company would be thrown in jail if they knowingly caused physical harm to the public, it is assault and could be worse depending on the severity. We as people have the right to shut them down if the government doesn't because it represents a clear and present danger to our health and safety. Of course the idea of causing serious health effect etc.. you need to weigh the actions but no, that sort of protection isn't legal in Canada, it violates the constitution. It is section 7 of the charter. right to security of person. If someone is endangering my health and wellbeing I can take recourse, much like if someone is committing an assault against myself I can take action to use as much force as is reasonable to prevent a continuance of that assault. If this means destroying their shipping and manufacturing capacities then it is reasonable to do so if there is no other recourse. Of course communication is a first option. This should be weighed into the threat level, it must be reasonable. I am guessing though the threat level is much lower than you let on here, in terms of health danger. Personally I think people should have the right to buy what they would like, of course they should be informed of dangers to their health in the food supply, but it should be their choice much like drinking or smoking. However if there is a potential to damage the environment though contamination of the general environment then they must be held to account if they are aware of the risk. If they knowingly endanger the natural food supply they should be lynched. Much like if they knowingly spread chemical or biological agents that cause life threatening diseases or those that degrade the health and wellbeing of the public they should be strung up. I'm not aware that is the case though, provide more info regarding the dangers to human health and wellbeing kindly. The key difference is public disclosure, this is why the tobacco companies were sued. There cannot be an attempt to misrepresent the threats to profit, they must be transparent and open and only cause damage to the informed client, not the general public. I am not joking any company that tries to hide threats to the public to profit should be shut down with serious consideration on capital punishment invoked on the diseased mind that tried to make money off public pain and suffering.
  7. Its just BS. The legal system is intentionally broken. First off laws are poorly crafted with vague and ambiguous language, second the method of "justice" is based on insane principles of "precedence" of previous occurrences as opposed to individual events and people. Its not judging people it is judging a crude value to peoples actions in abstract terms. It isn't one crime one sentence, it is one crime lets haggle. Facts aren't established they are convinced, justice isn't about reforming people it is about the justice system acting superior to regular people. It is just a broken system, frankly there is no need for lawyers and judges. The system needs to BS the lay, its procedural, it isn't about people it is about pomp and charades. Justice will never be served until those involved have left the system of man, because they are just BSing, they know nothing but semantics and procedure they aren't real, they aren't about making the system better they are just about BSing people and picking sides you can do that in 5 minutes. What happened? How can it be fixed, it can't? What the books says x y who the hell cares about a book, make a moral and good public, and you can have anyone figure out a solution to the result rather than penalizing the past, its what is right now that matters, what happened means nothing aside from its effect on now. They are just a holes. It isn't justice system, it is the system of delusions and false facts. They are going to pay for the harm they have caused eventually, and they deserve it for condemning people on fancy for what they think has happened but know not. The system is wrong and a corrupt and self destructive aspect of society. Its not about making good it is about corrupting the public good to serve elitists interests. They deserve pain and torment for their perversion of right honour and goodness, they are scumbags.
  8. I guess that other 60% are the ones who said he shouldn't run again. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/01/04/stephen-harper-polls-nanos-ipsos-reid_n_2409443.html Of course things like minor election fraud really are just a brain fart right http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2013/05/25/305314/confirmed-canada-2011-polls-fraudulent/ Hey if the Iranian press doesn't like him, he is a win for Canadians right.. hold on are those facts true? heres one from the Hill Times... http://www.hilltimes.com/news/news/2013/06/03/tory-mps-slam-federal-court%E2%80%99s-findings-of-fraud-%E2%80%98concerted-campaign%E2%80%99-to/34881 I'm sure that all the hardcore conservatives out there love the fact that the conservatives Quebec rump is said to have no chance of survival. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/05/31/harper-conservatives-quebec-poll_n_3365852.html?utm_hp_ref=canada-politics Hey maybe you are right, maybe not, when is that next budget due? http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/05/31/us-politics-poll-idUSBRE94U0S920130531 This shows the Liberals at 44% same poll? How long do scandals last? Wow an 8% drop in one week? But hold on how is it the consevatives are still dropping in both polls? Lets see what happens in the next one... I never realized the media masses just said a boo or yeah cause they like to be with the crowd. My gosh a gerbel could probably get elected with enough media support if this were true. The people have chosen you oh furry one. http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n602/devlog/sleepy.jpg opposition: oh damn you Furry, you and your teflon deflection of our questions with that smug look and silence how is this democracy? government whip, there is no such obstruction of parliamentary process here, Furry won with a super majority of votes so he doesn't need to listen to your nonsense about non democratic process in the manner of its responses.
  9. I'm pretty sure Mulcair did not give birth to Trudeau so probably not all too much. Quebecois are religious folks, following thier Messiah to lead them out of the path of darkness is in their blood.
  10. Go back to America Yankee. The GG most certainly called the election. GTFO
  11. No he didn't call the election. He discussed with the Governor General and after some time he convinced the governor general to call the election. This in part because an alternative government was suggested by the opposition. Or whatever other reasons the public did not get to hear as that very important discussion has not been made public. Its funny how you republicans like to reinvent the Canadian legal system and authority structure to meet with your idolization of America bemusing the PM to be the chief executive able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.. Effectively the government killed itself and if not for the NDP and bloc supporting that motion there probably would not have been that 2008 election. The liberals had "bemused" confidence in the conservative government, or parliament. I can picture the PM meeting with the GG early, well the liberals are polling less than a majority this week I'd like to have the election because the public is drunk. We forecast we won't remove the deficit and people might start realizing the deficit is not a french word for public debt, its the amount added to the debt. GG: sounds about right to me how bout you ring that bell and the Chief electoral officer will be right up with the writ and this time I'll let you roll the magic 8 ball when it narrows down the date.\ I should remind you that the PM is not a publicaly elected post and has nothing to do with democracy, even less so than the US where there is an electoral college. None the less the GG can refuse to call an election. The fixed election law is sort of a little redundant as a democractic tool, and actually quite frankly y'all s rationality is very undemocratic, so I'm quite shocked you would be egging for dictorial powers. You really are lessor people for doing so. It is a little assinine to have a fixed election law that is used to jockey power to the PM as opposed to remove political instability in parliament. Since May 2007, the Canada Elections Act provides that a general election be held on a fixed date: the third Monday of October in the fourth calendar year following the previous general election. As the last election took place on May 2, 2011, the next fixed election date is October 19, 2015. The Chief Electoral Officer may recommend an alternate day for a fixed-date general election if the date set for polling is not suitable for that purpose. Election dates (2) Subject to subsection (1), each general election must be held on the third Monday of October in the fourth calendar year following polling day for the last general election, with the first general election after this section comes into force being held on Monday, October 19, 2009. S.C. 2007, c. 10, s. 1. Source Elections Canada, so what law is this early election being run under, lets fix another conservative election victory law? Does the chat go. hey gg I really want to have an election rigged so we can publically ruin the oppositions street cred, can we set this thing for the next open date and get some marked ballots printed off in time to line the boxes with? It is just insulting to just basically ssay " yeah well get more votes if we call it early... " ding dong. more votes for the incumbent, should I put the RCMP on notice?
  12. No he can't. There is the fixed election law remember. He'd have to change that law and I think that might be negatively viewed for him to do that. "In 2007, the Parliament of Canada passed a law which introduced fixed-date elections at the federal level." source: http://www.parl.gc.ca/ParlInfo/Compilations/ProvinceTerritory/ProvincialFixedElections.aspx The GG is a separate entity from the PM, they if acting as GG take advice on behalf of the Queen from all privy Councillors, atleast that is the precedent that was the basis of the Privy Council on its inception and onward. They don't have to obey the PMs advice, they act as counsel as acting regent, and can consult further if required with the Monarch. This republican notion that the GG is just a rubber stamp is false and continues to be false. Rule of Law is suppose to be respected in Canada. The PM is a political adviser, they are not the head of the executive, they are effectively a general manager, the GG is the President and the Queen is the CEO in corporate terms. Various Ministers are managing directors of various departments, while they have actual managers run the departments. Various agents are also managers of various organs. This notion the PM is the beginning and end is just republican propaganda. There are reservation that make the citizens able to defend their right to a free and democratic society, and that is through providing legal protections to individuals against abuse by the state by rule of force as opposed to rule of law. The PM cannot call their own elections, they can request them but not according to the elections act, and the Governor general has at their privilege the ability to grant that request or not.\
  13. " Why are people so hostile to unions?" 1. They are not in them. 2. They are being pressured by them to give more of their wealth to them. 3. They deprive individuals of their personal right to contract as well as other personal liberties in the name of socialism.
  14. I was really suprised to find this poll 44% majority for Liberals according to the latest poll. 20% for NDP.. First time i have seen a poll with the Conservatives under 30% support in some time. They are polling under where the NDP were polling prior to Trudeau's election. Stephen Harper's CPC is trailing by close to 10 points 27% only. http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/05/23/trudeaus-liberals-hit-historic-highs-as-senate-scandal-has-drastic-effect-on-tories-poll/ I know still what 2 years away (just under 2 and a half years) not too much room left to fall, I'd just be suprised if people actually were waking up. I know someone in Quebec claimed the English were waking up, but can this really be? Perhaps some of it will blow over but I can't see votes going from the CPC to the NDP is that possible? A better question might be, what can a Liberal government do sitting on its hands for 3 years waiting for Senator's to die or get terminal illnesses and other personal tragedies. Oh but wait the CPC wants an elected senate right, so would that involve everyone vacating their seats and standing for election? What is Stephen Harper waiting for? When will they get another chance for a super majority like this. These will be the last senators be replaced sans new scandals should the ship stay affloat until the next 'fixed' election. Marjory LeBreton Suzanne Duplessis Asha Seth Noël Kinsella Andrée Champagne Donald Oliver Fernand Robichaud (Lib) Catherine Callbeck (Lib) Pierre de Bané (Lib) Only three more seats for the conservatives to gain without any issues arising such as deaths, illness etc.. That is 63 seats of 105. meaning only about 10 senators to be replaced after the next election before it is parity again assuming a Liberal election victory. That's only about 7 or 8 years until the senate can be brought back to parity and not be a conservative majority. That's only 5 years after the next election or two elections from now. Here is looking at 2020-2021 when the conservatives loose their legislative veto in the senate should they not return to power in the house in the next two elections.
  15. This is a very good point, however one would question whether this was a controversy or if there were any acts or omissions required for the money being provided. If either is the case, you have a case. I have no confidence it would see the light of day in a real court though, or that that court would be impartial. Although Stephen Harper being upset about it, maybe the attorney general, or public prosecutor, both conservatives would let it proceed. Imagine if it finally got to the all conservative appointed supreme court of Canada, what would they say?
  16. That is defamation, there was no fraud. The RCMP themselves said the rules were unclear. Its not like people making a tax claim they arn't entitled is fraud if they honestly think they are entitled to it. Proving mens rea here is the trick, that is a guilty mind that intentionally tried to defraud the public purse into paying for his house in Ottawa. Now just think how much hosting his wife and himself for 250 days a year would cost if it were a hotel, or the 100 or so or 50 or so or 30 or however many meetings the senate and senate committees that he is part of meet would cost. If you figure $200 a day that is $50,000 right there and that is before the Wallin expenses like car, $14 orange juices and tips come into play. This situation is covered under p113 of the CRA. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tg/p113/ Just be thankful Ottawa isn't located north of the arctic circle. Reality check he is a senator for PEI, he has to reside there. People can choose their primary residence according to Canadian law. Duffy did nothing wrong, he just was really into his job in Ottawa, obviously. Now this is problematic, did he have his home in PEI "merely for the purpose of gaining or producing income" or did he have his home in Ottawa "merely for the purpose of gaining or producing income". We can take a look and see that he rented a secondary residence in PEI for his Senate work, and when did he buy his home in Ottawa, before or after getting the appointment, and when did he buy his home in PEI before or after the appointment. Tax rules show very clearly that indeed his home in PEI was his primary residence. There is no year round habitation requirement for a primary residence. Some people don't live all year where they live, some are students some are travelling business people. Clearly Duffy's job requires him to spend large amounts of time in Ottawa, and he also had a second office residence on PEI for his off season months for work reasons. $22,000 a year is stilll less than $50,000 a year in hotel expenses and the $1000 one way flights 20 times a year putting those costs up to $70,000 a year vs. duffy's $22,000 my gosh, 22k was probably the cost of flying back and forth alone cause you know MP's always fly executive class right. That is if they don't take million dollar flights like the PM on his private jet. https://www.google.ca/flights/#search;f=YTZ,YYZ;t=YYG;q=toronto+to+charlottetown+flight;d=2013-06-09;r=2013-06-13 Say he had to fly today http://secure.redtag.ca/air/search/search?trip=oneway&origin=Ottawa+Macdonald-Cartier+International+Airport+-+Ottawa%2C+Ontario%2C+Canada+%28YOW%29&destination=Charlottetown+Airport+-+Charlottetown%2C+Prince+Edward+Island%2C+Canada+%28YYG%29&departure=2013-05-26&airline=ALL&fare=f&adults=1&children=0&direct=on&allInPricing=on&Submit.x=24&Submit.y=10&Submit=Search&dep_airport=&arr_airport=&dep_date=&ret_date=&type=Return&airlineList=ALL&air_class=Y&numberOfAdults=1&numberOfChildren=0&segment=Y&flexible=Y wow that is a $2100 flight right there... imagine 10 of those adding up to his cost of his home for a year... that is 5 visits to the senate for the cost of his home in Ottawa.. now who is robbing tax payers? Clearly not Mr. Duffy. Now if the house had a cheapest available seat to destination rule surely there may be savings but under the current hypocracy of buy what you like do what you want, no savings would be realized if Duffy lived at his home 365 days a year except for the annual appearance every year or two he is required. My gosh applaud the man for showing up for business. Perhaps what we should take a closer look at is THE GRAVY TRAIN IN OTTAWA, that is the real problem, not Mr. Duffy doing his job and showing up in Ottawa and being available in PEI. ---- We must realize that with 10's of billions of dollars added onto the more than half trillion dollar debt each year, these percs and bonuses for legislators and their staff is part of the disease that resides in the minds of the government in Ottawa. If they are ever to be well again they are going to need to first look to their own practices. If they are playing the game as fascist is as fascist does and its just a club, they arn't going to get any better. This whole argument is just lets rowdy up the stupid public into thinking some crime is done when in fact a public service has been done. Spreading the big wig virus will help no taxpayer and help no citizen but those in the privileged few who are club members. Now sure business as usual but is this charade really worth the ticket price for the people who have to watch the depravity? If it is why not make back the money with reality TV, they are going to Mars with reality Tv so why not pay your own way by requiring reality TV for the government. http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pubs_pol/hrpubs/mg-ldm/2011/pgmo-pldcm06-eng.asp

  18. Apparently Duffy told the press that the check was written after the audit continued. It seems Duffy expected the forensic audit to stop as soon as the money was paid back, it wasn't so Duffy came out and said where the money came from.
  19. Action plan, what are the ads running longer than the program, some new take on Canadian Heritage Minutes. https://www.historica-dominion.ca/content/videos Couple questions 1. Who runs the ad campaign for the government 2. why is the government advertising spending money? How is this a PSA... I am concerned if this is the most important message the government can put out to the public. You know anti crime bills, ruining the environment bills, make life harder on criminals and mental people, cracking down on the umemployed I'm sure they are doing other things too, but why focus on a program that has already ended and stopped revenue... this makes no sense.
  20. While everyone in Canada should be happy about not having to pay more,, Yeah Canadians only usually pay when they use one of the bridges they are forced to cross.... imagine people at other land routes, or worse having to staff remote entry locations without staff at the posts.... that would probably cost more at those locations. but its all pay for ID , etc.. just government money grabs.. so sad the US made so many enemies in the world and Canada is dragged along with it, that we can't have open borders. Such a paranoid society. Its these measures that will tag us all, why in a world of antitrust should we trust those who use the most violence and oppressive force to protect us... are we to believe that the good people are in control? It is just outright nonsense to have 10 different ID's and only one of them being usable for travel so much overlap. These fees and passports are just class warfare against the poor. The rich can always afford to pay, it is always the little man who gets hit and oppressed by these measures. Of course now to travel instead of paying a few extra dollars for that trip or two each year we pay 80$ more for our passports. Huh? Bad for business, what about the poor.. oh the poor arn't allowed to travel, welcome to the age of estates. Total BS. What about all the added security fees for flying and all that tripe. If airlines need more security they'd pay for it, the government shouldn't be instituting more security than the airlines are willing to pay for. These are all BS added costs to further harness totally unneeded totalitarian police state methods. I support a bond for entry to other countries that is refundable provided no charges to the state you are visiting. however bottom line here is should americans be taxed for Canadians to travel.. no.. and vice versa. I'd gladly pay the fee for entry, costs need to cover themselves. However, there is so much nonsense in all this. So many extra layers and other nonsense. Chances are the US recoupes some of these costs, its not like it has subsidized food sales or comercial goods sales where they are getting a loss from Canadian travellers.. while yes it is true they are loosing in some cases by giving Canadian businesses easier access but that is all WTO stuff. We need to get on with getting the DNA databases going at birth from stem cells, and storing stem cells. As well as getting that DNA into a DNAbarcode ID so that people's DNA (mrna/rna etc..) are on file and correspond to their DNA barcode, so we can get this mark of the beast stuff over with, then have people get that ricegrain or chip that has been going down that has to match the DNA or it is rejected. That and all the new passport feature we should just move on and use one ID .. the passport. We should also have open borders. Anyone who wants to get into either country can anyway.
