"Libya was already hell on earth." Bullshit. I was there 14 days before the Arab Spring spread to there. It was a lovely country, very clean, advanced, had great food and was and way better than most other countries in the Middle East. In fact it had the strongest economy in Africa. "Sudan is still a hell on earth." Sudan is irrelevant to this discussion. "Egypt's military took back the government." Egypt's military is backed by the US govt. "The Saudis intervened in Kuwait and Yemen." You mean Bahrain and Yemen. The US sat back and led the Saudis slaughter the Bahraini opposition. (case in point actually Bahrain is much better today than Libya where the US intervened), Yemen the US used drones and helped tear the country into shreds. "Syria was a hell on earth as proxies for Sunies and Shiites fought it out with the help of the Russians long before western nations grew incensed at the genocidal attacks on Iraq''s minorities to half heartedly intervene." What time period are you referring to? Syria was a much better country before the Neocons decided to completely destabilize and destroy the Middle East. "Your belief it requires white people to make someplace a hell on earth is misguided, mistaken, and wildly paternalistic." No paternalistic is thinking the white man's burden is to intervene in functioning countries to destroy them and turn them into living hells on earth.

Emotion trumping logic and costing an out of this world slaughter and hell hole. Yeah great call on that one.
-
And the west intervened in all of those and turned them into a living hell on earth. Great call.
-
Sure, but they were just addressing the symptom and not the root of the problem. Afghanistan is in pieces.
-
Complete non sequitur. Tunisia is the only country that has done relatively well in all this as it has been the only country, which hasn't faced western intervention.

How many were killed in the 'bloody civil war' in Libya before the first western aircraft appeared in the skies? 200?

Yes the right are the real criminals here for starting this insanity and for keeping it going, but many on the left (including Hollande, Merkel (yeah she's a conservative party leader but really she's more left than most left wings these days) and Trudeau) are also acting pretty stupidly by allowing the invasion of secular countries by Islam and by continuing the neoconservative crusades. Incidentally I wouldn't include Obama as being on the left.

Well first a Canadian general led the NATO attack that destroyed Libya. So Canada is responsible for that. And Canada did play America's dog in Afghanistan. Syria the blame isn't so much on Canada as the rest of NATO and the Arab Gulf States. "Islam is a major problem," Agreed. "but the bigger problem is the left that is in denial. We either go in and end it the right way" This is where the right is in denial. The right went in and surprise it didn't end right away, but opened up the pandora's box. "or we all leave and let them slaughter themselves till th3e cows come home." And the problem with that is? Note it addresses problem #1.

"I believe that we have a moral obligation to alleviate the refugee problem that we had a hand in creating. It surprises me that there are still a few Canadians who profess that it is not our fault." The moral argument is Abrahamic religious philosophy. 'the meak will inherit the earth.' It is as Nietzsche called Slave Morality. Our moral responsibility is to protect Canada and its environment not to mop up after the Neocons and to help Islam spread globally.

Liberals and Conservatives are two sides of the same negative coin. The conservatives for destroying the Middle East with their Neoconservative crusades, and the Liberals for also taking part in such crusades and for taking in tens of thousands of refugees. Together they are a disaster.

"No Schedule" on Cannabis Legalization
G Huxley replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So the Trudeau government continues to treat as criminals non criminals, while the ministers sit on their salaries paid for by you and me to not fulfill their promises. Yeah real change in Ottawa. Or maybe they are all just too busy with their Ashley Maddison accounts there to do their jobs. One thing should be pretty obvious if Trudeau doesn't legalize cannabis by the next election he should expect to lose a considerable chunk of votes, which is probably why he is importing the Islamics by the tens of thousands to make up for votes lost. That's it treat Canadian citizens like dirt and then bring in 10s of thousands who have religious fundamentalist values, who can then help maintain the authoritarian state. -

How did I even forget Trudeau signing onto the TPP in list of bad moves. -
"No Schedule" on Cannabis Legalization

Trudeau is too busy filling the country with Islamic people rather than protecting Canadians' civil rights and the environment. After he and the conservatives are done there won`t be a Canada as we know it left. -
"No Schedule" on Cannabis Legalization
G Huxley replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why are they waiting now to frame it? Why hadn't the frame been there before the election? Also we had this discussion before. The UN thing is a joke and hardly binding. The government could easily drop out of it. At the very least they could do what Chretien did and decriminalize it before proceeding to full re-legalization. -
"No Schedule" on Cannabis Legalization

He should do it on day 1 as long as people are being convicted for something that shouldn't be a crime, and his government has shown that they aren't serious about it. -
"No Schedule" on Cannabis Legalization

Trudeau has been a huge disappointment. The best part of his platform was legalization. He hasn't delivered on that. He has instead shown to be another Neoliberal/Neocon, driving up the debt and increasing the population via an influx of immigration. (Further destruction of the environment.) -
How did I even forget to mention Iran-Contra? haha

The US is one of the biggest supporters of international terrorism in the world. Look who funded the mujahedeen in the 80s leading to the rise of Al Qaeda and Afghanistan, and look who has been backing the rebels which turned out to be Islamists in league with Al Qaeda in Syria? The good ol USA. And who backed the Islamists in Libya? That's right the USA. Meanwhile Iran is actually fighting Al Qaeda in Syrian and Iraq, while America turns a blind eye to it.

Canada Shunned by Coalition Allies
G Huxley replied to cannuck's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So Canada stood up to the Anglo-American imperial axis. Good job! This is the same axis that destroyed, Iraq, Libya, and Syria and has yet to face war crime trials of the criminals responsible.- 358 replies

It seems Trudeau deserves the benefit of the doubt on this: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/bill-blair-to-lead-liberal-task-force-on-marijuana-legalization-source/article28075636/

How about just legalize it and say f^ck the UN's outdated fascistic treaty?

Squid the American govt still has cannabis illegal. The American State govts are the ones who have legalized it. There is a difference. I mentioned the American govt.
