  1. Wow, for an angry mob there are sure a lot of people smiling there.
  2. Do you have a link?
  3. There are lots of "haves" forced on us in society. You "have" to adhere to the laws of your community or face fines. You "have" to pay taxes if you work. You "have" to pay the GST on everything you buy.
  4. At least our cops access it, so it was a useful expenditure. In a Canada Firearms Centre (CAFC) survey, 92% of general duty police officers stated that they use the system. link
  5. Uh, don't think ya have .
  6. As a Christian, why don't you take up a real cause and film abortions at hospitals. They do over 100,000 a year and are funded by our tax dollars.
  7. Too bad your homicide rate didn't reflect that same ratio. 2006 - 605 homicides in Canada link 2006 - 14,990 homicides in the U.S. link
  8. Many little girls were abused as well. link
  9. So now the airport security are to blame. Got it. So much for the Conservative party of accountability.
  10. Well, who put Harper in then?
  11. Not to mention overzealous generalizations.
  12. I think that would be tall tale.
  13. Without credible links to back up one's position we are left with inane utterings much like yours.
  14. Lol, you mean when he drove around Quebec with what looked like a nazi helmut? You're kidding right? Have you ever heard of youthful frivolity? True colours? As for his stand on Israel, as a jew you'd never be satisfied with anything he said regarding equality in the middle east unless it highly favoured Israel and only Israel. And that belief comes dangerously close to the category of persecution complex.
  15. Aah, now I know who peed on his grave a while back As for the jewish question, I guess everyone has an opinion. Seems to me he was pretty clear on his stand towards Israel and jews in general. link
  16. Yeah, now, but I was talking about when he first came to power. The only french we had in school back in the 60's was from grade 10 - 12. And it was just tokenism really, given it was an optional course. edit: Now that I ponder back I think one had to have some French to matriculate or go to University.
  17. I don't think Trudeau went far enough; I would have like to have seen French immersion from kindergarten to grade 12. And you're right, many more opportunites do open up with another language under your belt.
  18. It's amazing how quickly the rabid right pounces when Trudeau's name is mentioned. The guy has been out of politics for 26 years, dead 10 years. Get over it.
  19. Yeah, as an Albertan I'd like to know that too, and I speak even fewer words in French.
  20. I think the two posters above you need to go back and read some "real" history, instead of parroting the right wing crap they've been fed. Trudeau was a staunch federalist and did not cater to Quebec in regards to our constitution.
  21. You've just topped your self M.C. But I don't appreciate your blanket bigotry of the poor. As a person with two disabilities living on a pension, I guess I fit into your category. I am considered poor by any standard. I shouldn't take your immaturity and stupidity personally as you're obviously very young and haven't experienced tolerance in your life yet. Here's a hint: try empathizing with those less fortutnate. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or something. Imagine walking a mile in someone else's moccosians.
  22. Yes, according to the bible. I just like to poke fun at the fundamentalists.
  23. I kind of like this interpretation. The suggestion is that the Greek word kamilos ('camel') should really be kamêlos, meaning 'cable, rope', as some late New Testament manuscripts1 actually have here. Hence it is easier to thread a needle with a rope rather than a strand of cotton than for a rich man to enter the kingdom.
