I guess your right, all those successful socialists countries make your statement ring true eh MS...... And why do you think the "evil, capitalists pigs within the business community" don't work well with a socialist government? It's out of fear of being nationalized, unionized and taxed to death........Which ever pinko it was that said the capitalists would sell to the commies the rope with which to hang themselves with, was dead wrong. Somthing just doesn't compute when Layton, the NDP and sound economic policies are mentioned within the same sentence.

Who are we respected by? How are we compassionate? We are not even in the top twenty in terms of manpower provided towards the United Nations peacekeeping efforts and we are still a large supplier of arms to the third world.......... How's that respectful and/or compassionate? The Left is quite content to leave out the ugly parts of Canada's forgeign policy............. As for the "Bling Bling", social programs are not free

As I said, the " {Western} separatism whiners" numbers don't mater as of yet........nothing will happen until Quebec is on it's marry way and what we know as Canada today starts to fall apart........ Young.....sure.......lot's to learn.......perhaps.......in a better postion to acheive goals based on the fact that we have youth, and the associated "staying power" that comes with it........damn straight........

Ontario and/or Quebec will never allow a 3E Senate, because they will never vote in a Conservative party to a majority that is in favor of Senate reform and the only way to change that, is with a 3E Senate........all that we are doing is "chasing our tales" so to speak.......which leaves us (as in the West) with only one positive choice.......Sovereignty.

I wouldn't say "dumb", I'd say ignorant to the fact.......as others are trying to drum into your head caesar, the Yanks can afford to be ignorant towards Canada, but the reverse is not true. I agree, those would be my first choice, but in doing so, it's prudent to have an option to fall back on (ie NMD).

Whats one of the main reasons that Quebec wants to leave? Isn't it to preserve their Culture? Then explain why the vast majority of Ridings within Alberta went Conservative, Quebec went Bloc, and Ontario went Liberal........then explain how cultural values or political beliefs are not one in the same..... One persons's temper tantrums, is another person standing up for themselves.......if your happy rolling over onto your back for the East.....thats fine by me. Damn straight we want to try on the "same duds"......why wouldn't we, they bloody well work. Regardless, I'm still in favour of leaving Canada since it's apparent that we won't ever get an equal say within it. That explains the Bloc vote in Quebec, the Mainly Conservative vote out west and the Liberal vote out East......sounds homogenous to me.. You don't think that people in Quebec and a growing number out west are starting to think that the "central government" is breaking down? *From your link BD* There is no incentives for regional loyalty within Canada now is there? And there has never been any encouragement between different ethnic backgrounds in Canada right?

How about you give the readers digest version then? Yugoslavia was born out of parts of different empires right? Was not Canada once part of different Empires? Yugoslavia was a "mish-mash" of different cultures and religions and had these different cultures and religions concentrated in different geographical regions right? I say the Western, Eastern and Quebec regions all share a some what different culture right? In Yugoslavia, one region (Serbia) controlled the rest right? Doesn't Ont controll the rest of Canada? Name some other "potential threats"........What Terrorism? I applaud Bush (and Clinton before him ) for realizing that there are numerous threats directed towards the United States, of which ICBMs are very much a part.........so let's have some of the other "threats". Define "small minority"? Would you call the Western Seaboard a "small minority" that could benefit from NMD? Has the United States asked for anything more then our "blessing"?

Well said........I've been saying that since I first started posting here (and long before that), the sad part is that some don't understand that (to their own detriment) and others use it as a "anti-US" rally cry..... Name a time and place that Bush "whined" about a Canadian decision...... What don't you understand about a nation (in this case the United States) putting it's own needs first? And when it comes to Canada's needs, they, for the most part, are only met because of the United States.........

I feel the need to ask, why force people to vote? Do we really want the ignorant being forced to vote........FFS we could end up having fringe parties like the Rhinos, Pot Party, Greens and the NDP having a real say in government Nah, if someone can't be bothered fine, let them stay home.........just don't bitch to me about government if you don't vote......as for paying a person to vote or giving them a tax break, you do understand that then the majority of voters will take advantage of this right?

Was Ipsos-Reid the same company who said that the NDP was going to hold the balance of power in the federal government? I forget.......

However and and better yet I don't plan on voting Liberal, unless my riding looks like it's going to be close between the NDP and Libs......I most likely will vote one of Green/Conservative/Reform...
