  1. What lies? Yes, and the Americans were free to make their own decision wrt SARS, Mad Cow and softwood lumber....I wonder if their decisions would have been different if ours had of been......... When WMDs our found, what do you think the opinion will be like then? As for "the poor terrorists in Cuba" see above...... Yes...... I doubt they were given from higher ups, because if that was the case, we most likely would have never seen or heard about it........I'm sure the CIA knows how to hide things........ Yes I do, as they say, actions speak louder then words......There are thousands of terrorists fighting in Iraq, but the good thing about that is that thoses thousands of terrorists are not fighting in the west right now......
  2. We didn't send troops as a nation, but we shouldn't forget the thousands of Canadians that volunteered to fight for the Americans..... I agree, at most, If Harper had of been in, the ships we had in the gulf "fighting the war on terror", would have now been "fighting the war with Iraq".....maybe a few Herks, MPA and some special forces (If they didn't already ) might have took part......
  3. Equal terms Hows that? United States = Superpower = does what it wishes Canada = feather weight = does what United States wishes or becomes a second world country. Now do you really think we would win a game of hardball with the United States? Look what they did to our nations cattle industry and lumber industry just by closing the boarder and putting on a tariff....... Now what would happen if they closed the boarder to our Automotive industry? Started buying more oil from South America and'or opened up Alaska more? I agree that we should try and diversify, but with who?
  4. Do you purchase "cheap gas"? If so, please tell me where you get He seemed quite straight forward about his views on Iraq in the debate...... Is Iraq going to produce any WMD in the near future? Is Iraq going to threaten any of it's fellow Middle Eastern countries? Do you disagree that now that the United States has a large footprint in Iraq it can pull out of Saudi Arabia and with a pullout of Saudi Arabia, the West no longer has to kowtow to the Saudis? Added to the fact that now that the United States is pulling out of Saudi Arabia, there has been an increase in terror attacks within the Saudi Kingdom, and because of that, the Saudi's now have to start dealing with terrorism for fear of being over thrown? .......but anywho, when WMD are found in a remote location in Iraq/Lebanon/Syria/Iran or released in a Western city, then will you still think Bush made a mistake? Where are the majority of terror attacks happening now in the world? Could it be Iraq and Afghanistain? It's almost like the Americans thought that if they went into the middle east, the terrorists would follow them and instead of fighting the war on western soil, the war is now being fought in the middle east........call me crazy If Iraq didn't have WMDs, why didn't they provide proof that they had been destroyed to the UN inspectors before the war........Now remember, Russia, France, Germany and China also had intell stating the Iraqis had WMDs, they just didn't agree on the course of action the Americans wanted to take....... I even remember France saying that if Iraq used WMD during the war, they would have entered it....(I think the Germans might have said the same thing) As for the mistreatment of the "poor Iraqis", if Canadians were threatend by terrorists, I'd have no bones about pulling a persons toe nails out or making them pose naked if it would get info that could help save the lives of Canadians or other allies.....
  5. opt out of NAFTA? yeah that would teach them....there are members within the GOP that want exactly that.........then there are the Dems that are tired of "exporting American jobs"........I suggest that which ever party is in the whitehouse, we should learn to shut our traps a tad....... .......That is unless caesar or anybody else can find a buyer for all our goods.........
  6. I see the point went over your head......I'm against abortion, and because of that, I take precautions so I would never have to deal with an abortion.......and if I had an "oops", I'd bloody well have to pay for it. Savvy? And if these mothers and fathers have an "oops", they to should bloody well pay for it, whether it be paying the costs of having a child, going through the discomfort of child birth or paying to have a abortion..........you get it?
  7. Any of the those "examples" you used can't be proven 100% to be the cause of any of your "victims" ailment and because of that, iut's quite clear your comparing apples to oranges...... Thats not the case when it comes to pregnancy.......as I'm sure you know how that works.......takes no guess work at all.......
  8. Good point Sully, MS do you have your own opinion wrt child porn or do you tow the party line?
  9. The NDP Caucus Supports Child Pornography? I can't even fathom why anybody would try and turn this around on Harper......sick
  10. Ahh I never knew the NDP was in favor of Quebec sovereignty........... well done MS.
  11. Maybe the Tories should use that latest report from the UN saying Calgary was the Healthest city in the world...... Calgary is in Alberta right? Klien is the leader of Alberta right? Klien is a Conservative right? thats what I thought....
  12. Did the NDP and Libs vote against a Conservative proposal to toughen laws against child porn maplesyrup? Yes or No?
  13. Another Poll and the most important part:
  14. Ahh but you want to "split hairs" to a "finite difference", I on the other hand see it as black and white.......are you going to die from this pregency? Where you raped? Did you have a little too much to drink? Did you have to just get your freak on, but couldn't be bothered to use a rubber? Yes or No answer would do.......
  15. So wouldn't you think that after they had to pay 200 dollars for an abortion, or new somebody who did, you go by a 10 dollar box of rubbers? I understood the question to be relating to abortions..... BD, I don't believe in abortions, but with that said, I can understand that we will always have them, so as a moral issue, yes I can understand people being "pro choice" even though I don't agree with them, but that doesn't change the fact, that other then in a case of a rape or health, the taxpayer shouldn't have to pay for somebody elses "opps"....... WRT smokers or junk food, thats hard to prove, people can still get lung cancer without smoking and people can be fat without eating juck food........but people are not born pregnant........
  16. So you seem to think a "low income person" or better yet, the "common folk" don't have the brains to say NO? I'm sure low income people without a university education can figure out were babies come from and how to prevent it...... So is it wrong to punish a murder that doesn't have a university degree? gimmie a break I'm sure that most of us that are against abortions, have NEVER had to deal with an abortion, BECAUSE, we don't believe in them.......yeah jive? If the majority of Canadians want to become isolationists and stop all forms of forgein trade and policy, then fine, let's build a Swedish type armed forces and just stay out of everbodies buisness, but be prepaired, we spend about 1.1% of our GDP on defence, Sweden spends twice as much....... Or, if you want to maintain a presence on the world stage as to that of our current level, but without the aid of treaties such as NORAD or NATO, be prepaired to pay in the same ballpark as China (over 4%) or India (about 2.5%) ........ Either way, of the three choices we have, staying within NATO and NORAD is the cheaper option, as it allows our defence dollar to go way further then if we went it alone or started a policy of retrenchment....... And the cost that Harper is going to have to pay is peanuts in the big scheme of things.......we should be so lucky.
  17. The British never remember it, the Irish never forget it, the Russians never make it, and the Americans never learn from it. - Bishop Fulton J. Sheen
  18. So NAFTA had nothing to do with our current economy? And doesn't Martin beleive in tax cuts? If thats the case, are Harper's tax cuts not better?
  19. How big was the debt and deficit when Mulroney took over? I'd think that Trudeau's social programs were not free....... And none of that had anything to do with NAFTA ?
  20. playfullfellow, I agree with you 100%, 10-20 dollars would be a perfect amount to "discourage" waste in Healthcare. noelandmero, another good idea........IIRC in BC, we spend almost as much on Healthcare as our country spends on defence.....and to think.....something like 75% goes to wages.......This is were I think "right to work laws" should come into affect......I'm sure there are tons of Russian and Eastern european Doctors that would willing to work for half the amount of our current crop......not to mention Filipino nurses that would be more then happy to work for 20 bucks an hour..... I agree with you CP, what a great idea......let them pay for their own birth control.......if it's the case of a sexual assault or life and death situation, sure I don't mind at all, but if they are just to lazy to use a condom or they are teenagers that don't know any better, let them come up with a few hundred dollars.......
  21. Good point.........explains why Calgary is listed as the worlds healthiest City....
  22. Hitler.........nah.......Hitler had too much class to live in subsidized housing when he had a income over 120k
  23. Thats intresting, I hope Harper uses Calgary/Klines model for the entire nation.....
  24. noelandmero, don't get me wrong (and I think I can speak for AF) in saying that I don't fault rich/well off people, I say all the power to them, I wish I was one, I just don't like being talked down to by somebody that clamis to "look out for the little guy".
