  1. Though I don't mind movies that delve into fiction, in this case, as a Canadian I'm embarassed that taxpayer money is being spent on a anti-American flick to air on state tv.........mostly when are relations are somewhat rocky at the moment.. CTV or Global would have been fine with me......but not the CBC
  2. But you don't seem to understand that you indeed need to prove they are the "facts".........
  3. Was not the ice age "a form" of climate change? Was the Ice Age the result of man? And why is there tiers within Kyoto? What do you want proof of? I've provide conflicting views of climate change.......which proves that there is not a consensus among scientists. Do you need proof that there was an ice age? More like they were strong armed into it......... Russia forced to ratify Kyoto Protocol to become WTO member I do find this intresting: And So the big bad United States is not the only Superpower to be opposed to Kyoto.......in this case, Russia has to sign. I wonder why China and India abstained? I also wonder why 88 of the 120 countries that signed onto Kyoto, have yet to ratify it?
  4. I sure do..........I provide sources all the time to back up what I state as fact..........in this case the onus isn't on myself, since I was not the one using percentage points.
  5. Exactly, and that there is one of the key problems with Kyoto........America has to take actions that will effect it's economy, where as China and India get off scott free. Thats the process, I'm arguing the cause and effect..... Again Has it been proven that climate change is not natrual? And what caused the ice age?
  6. So? I applaud the Bush administration for not reacting to unproven science. I asked you before, but you never answered, which countries have ratified Kyoto? Has Russia? China? India? What about third world nations?
  7. Implying that the United States under Bush is the reason for climate change is wrong. Also that if the first ice age can occur without the actions of man, why is it so "crazy" to assume that a possable slight increase in tempature can't be a natural event and not the "reaction" to mankind killing the planet?
  8. And eureka, here is a key word in your post: editorial Now eureka, in your opinion, was the Bush administration the cause of the last major ice age?
  9. Do you have source for that breakdown?
  10. caesar, what or who caused the ice age?
  11. And look at the following page Augest: Climate change Then notice the following page to that: Climate change So even this report can't offer concrete proof that we are the sole cause of climate change. This brings me back to the ice age. Did mankind cause it?
  12. And how does that prove that the rise in tempature is not natural? Was the ice age natural?
  13. Not anymore then the Indo Canadians that live in Surrey.
  14. hmmmmm "Orange soil" or Healthcare "Orange soil" or increased defence spending "Orange soil" or Tax breaks and a stronger economy As has been suggested Blue, go find a bank and/or investors that will give you bilions of dollars in the hopes of finding "orange soil"
  15. I will. As I said in my post, in Surrey thats very likely......just like how I doubt an Indo Canadian would fair well in most rural BC ridings such as my own.
  16. caesar, was mankind responsible for the ice age? Is not an Ice Age climate change? And how do you know that 90% of internet users agree with you?
  17. Imagine that, a man of Indo Canadian decent wining a seat in a riding that is domanated by Indo Canadians......when up against a white women. It's also worth noting, a sitting government in BC has not won a by-election since the very early 80s.
  18. ........after we work out more pressing problems here on earth.
  19. They are the "cousins" of the British Trafalgar class nuke boats. Have a look: RN Trafalgar class nuke boat Our Victoria/Upholder class boats Exactly, the British planned on building dozens of the class during the cold war, but only had four built when the Soviet Union fell apart. In the ensuing defence cuts, the government told the Royal Navy to get rid of either the four Upholder boats, or two nuke boats. Exactly........just think about buying a car that has been stored in the elements for 8-9 years......times ten for a sub.
  20. Prove it. Was the ice age caused by mankind?
  21. Thats the rub........Canada doesn't (like Australia) have expereince building subs. Now as I pointed out, Australia's "foray" into sub building has proven extremly costly and at the end of the day, they have a product that is not that much better then our current subs. It's sad to say (and I worked in the industry for a brief time) that Canadian shipbuilding, for the most part, is dead. We just can't keep up with other more modern yards in the United States, Norway, South Korea and Japan. When it comes to military hardware, our men and women in the services deserve the very best........and in the vast majority of cases, it happens to be built by the Americans. I'd rather buy American, and if possable work out some sort of offset, then buy used, forgeign built or Canadian made junk.
  22. Read the third paragragh of the linked story......... At the end of the day, the Canadian Navy signed off on the subs, as proved by the last few lines in the story: Are you prepaired to pay closer to four billion dollars for four subs, instead of one billion for four? As for building our own, go read about the headaches the Australians are having with their Collins class.......makes are problems puny (in terms of cost) in comparison. We should have went with an American (nuclear) design........
  23. Has climate change been proven without a doubt that it is an occurance caused by man alone? Has the theory of climate change being a natural event been disproven? What about the ice age(s)? Is the Bush administration responsable for that also?
