Good point, do you think if Bush had of addressed Parliment, that some of the NDP and Bloc (Perhaps some Libs) members would not have heckled him? Mr pot, meet mr kettle And to be clear, I think Bush should have addressed Parliment and I'm very dissapointed that he didn't.......but I'm of the understanding that it was the Martin government that didn't want him to address parliment. A video clip of Layton's snit

I can't think of a time that I've seen Harper lose his cool.......hell, Layton's little snit looked worse than Paul Martin "wind milling" during the debates....I'm still laughing I just wish i could have seen the conversation between layton and Bush

Obese Children & Parental Responsibility
Stoker replied to ndpnic's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
teachers are already paid with tax payer money.......if you want to add increased physical active to the cirrculum why give the teachers perks instead of changing what they have to teach? This sounds like Union appeasment....... And if none or very few parents respond, that will be it? So school principles are now qualifed to diagnose health problems? How many parents would like to be told how to raise their children? So teachers are now aloud to judge which children they deem too fat? How do we also know that skinny kids are starving, and are not...just..skinny? As for my suggestion, I agree with increasing PE programs at schools and having healthier food and drink served/sold at schools......but the state shouldn't be interfering with every faucet of the family unit..... I'm sure you think it's wrong for the state to be meddling in a person's bedroom.......how is meddling in their kitchen/living room any different? Where is the line between the state "brainwashing them" and "caring for them"? Why not allow the parents to care for them? Also, for somebody with such a negative event in their family, I'd think you would be opposed to increased state controls.......be they in a Nazi or Soviet fashion. -
Obese Children & Parental Responsibility

Does this mean that you also wish the government to go after very skinny children's parents? What about the short children? Kids with bad teeth? Learning disorders? Red haired children? Kids that pick their nose? etc etc The lefts idea's about making the "perfect children" sounds an awful lot like some sort of Kanadische Hitler Jugend............ -
I saw it (just before lunch time PST), and to be quite honest, I couldn't control my laughter.......I thought it funny how each time the "booing" started, Layton would sit down and started mumbling, and looked as though he was going to start crying Do you know for a fact which party was booing him? I noticed the CBC commentator mentioned it was too bad that we couldn't tell because of the camera angle. I couldn't agree more, he's well on his way to a strong majority government..........
-
More importantly though........... .......I wonder what was discussed it their meeting? Harper/Bush/Rice are remaining tight lipped......must have been good mind you, since Harper only expected a short meeting but had the President's ear for longer than expected. No doubt it was about exploting our resources, sending our (few) troops to Iraq and surrending our rights to become the 51st state......

Is not democracy a good thing? Is not a vote amongest MPs better then a Liberal (or Tory) government railroading BMD? If that many Canadians oppose BMD, I'm sure they will voice their opinions to their Members of Parliment.
-
.......And then the majority of the Liberal party, alongside the Conservative party will vote for BMD........thanks for coming out Jack

It's quite bad that I have to ask you in a topic under the support and question section, in which we are talking about the Burden of proof and how sources are required in a adult debate, to provide proof that I ignore your sources.....I laugh at them (when you provide them) but I hardly ignore them. As for opinions, yes, I agree, that they are infact in the eye of the beholder, but when a person uses his or her opinion as fact in a debate, the onus is on that person to support their opnions.

Exactly, look at that radio DJ that made the list from Winnipeg............it was a joke IMHO. As for multiple voting, on the show on Sunday night, one of the hosts was stating how each home could have five phone in votes, then multiple tex messaging votes, and Email votes..... I personally, for a joke, voted for Don Cherry close to ten times with different email accounts.......I wonder if pravad....I mean the CBC would have aloud a "Don Cherry" to win........
-
He was.......IIRC he was 20 something on the list.

Very good post Tawasakm!!! I think that a "Burden of proof" is the ideal in these type of forums that seperates adult debates from playground banter and since this is not a playground..... But if this forum is merely a "playground" I hope that that will be made common knowledge to all the users, namely to those that are looking for something more.

As for respect, it's earned not given. Do we really deserve their respect to any great extent?

Who and How? For instance, the United States navy (in terms of tonnage) is larger then the rest of the worlds navies combined........ Also, many modern (Western) militaries rely on GPS.......who controls the satilites?

Canadian Crack-up..parts I & II

I wonder what the numbers would look like.......how many Canadians move to the States, compared to how many Americans move to Canada? -
How Evil is George W. Bush?
Stoker replied to MapleBear's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Can you prove that the war was fought for Haliburton? Can you provide an example, one that shows Bush having ties to a murder....... I haven't denied the fact that some corporations have gained from the war........but whats wrong with that? However you claim: Which leads me to beleive that you think the war was fought for corporate gains as the sole (or major) reason........prove it. Can you prove Bush had involment in 9/11? In Enron? In the "Energy crisis"? Whats wrong with corporate tax cuts and outsourcing? Has either led the United States to no longer hold the postion as the worlds largest economy? And whats "on and on"? I'd imagine the majority of Americans that voted for him and his party in the recent election......... -
He isn't? What about Jim Morrison? Don't you? The majoirty of your posts appear to have a (un)healthy portion of "Brain Gravy" laced with in them.... I like the Kutcher........

Can you prove that claim? What is evil about that? {see child left behind} You already mentioned corporate gain as the reason for war.......prove it! Like what? -
Canada Cracks-Up: Good-Bye Ol' Friend, and Thank God for the Aussies I think that sums up a large Canadian insecurity.....it is rather sad if you think about it with an objective mind. Another large insecurity. Canadian Crack-up, Part II This line of thinking sounds familiar.......... I'm now in favour of serving Bush when he comes next week. To be honest, I'm rather surprised that Canada is getting this much attention by Americans......Who wudda thunk it.....too bad it's the bad type of attention

How Evil is George W. Bush?
Stoker replied to MapleBear's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No, but be more willing to work with him and to understand the part America plays on our lives. So Bush could start his invasion in two more years? Is that the SOP of really evil people? Why did you state that Hitler should invaded Poland at 18 years old? It doesn't mater what I think, Bush is evil remeber A modern military....... their government can arm them Do you understand the state the Military is in? The New York City police department is larger then our army It doesn't mater......it would just make more targets for American guns. How many Russians did Stalin kill? Bah, it would be a minor inconvince for a person as evil as Bush...... Explain why you don't understand......... -
How Evil is George W. Bush?
Stoker replied to MapleBear's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I doubt it, to tell you the truth......and as soon as Canadians understand that you can't win (pardon the expression) a dick measuring contest with an elephant, the better off we will be. What year did Hitler take power? What year did Hitler take over the Sudetenland? Austria? Start world war two by invading Poland? How many years seperate 1933 to 1939? How many years seperate Bush coming to power and now? Explain your logic about the entire young Hitler thing again.....or stop smoking rockets before you post. Why? Canada's population is only about 8 million more then Iraq. Also, unlike Iraq, the average Canadian does not have access to automatic weapons, RPGs, plastic explosives and is not supported by a world wide network of terrorists. It doesn't mater how many Americans would or would not support the invasion of Canada ........Bush is evil remeber.....evil people don't take polls. As for any potentail civil war, since Bush is evil, he can just turn his military onto the dissidents.......I'm sure the Americans still have some chemical weapons somewhere........Bush is evil remember. It's not an insult.......it's a bloody serious question.....how do you know and can ALCAN tin-foil defeat EVIL American mind control waves? -
Instead of bitching over the government not giving you and your family enough resources to "live", use your situation as incentive to better yourself.....be it a better education......higher paying job.....what ever. And before you reply the old adage, "easier said than done"......I'm not saying it's going to be easy, probably really hard......It just depends on you as a person, and from the sounds of your post, and the apparent expecataions you have of society and the expected debt that you think the world owes you, I think you will have a extra hard time......
