Is $599 enough to live on for a single person? The rates go up 1% each year but landlords can raise their rents 3-4% each year. This amount seems like very little and seemingly creates a situation of have and have nots in the poor people. It would seem that even the poorest of our society are not immune to division amongst its ranks. Most of this attack is by the group set up to protect these people. I don't want my children developing attitudes that they are better then these people so I am planning to take them to help at a meal line this year. So many Canadians are one paycheque away from being on the streets or on assistance. Instead of looking down noses we need to show some compassion and give these people some dignity. Some are on help through no fault of their own. I know, I've been there. It's not fun. It's weird that I disagree with the left on so much but find common ground with them here on this topic.

I have to say that when I was thinking of a chat feature I was thinking of a shout box type of format where anyone could say whatever they wanted. I think having a shoutbox on the same page as the forums would be great because it wouldn't remove you completely from the forum like the chat does. With a shoutbox people could chat plus post on the forum at the same time. Shoutbox as in a box at the top of the forum where people can type in real time. I just think it's a better option then a full on chat room.

I would say all ethnic groups we let in form homogeneous enclaves within our cities where only the home language is spoken insulating themselves from integrating into Canadian society. This isn't what I'd call a multicultural triumph. Roma's are not wanted anywhere because they do this and because they are responsible for a high level of crime. If they were so upstanding of citizens wouldn't every nation want them? So instead of screaming "racist!" why not look into the facts of why these people are constantly chased out of nations. I live in a safe rural area and I wish this area to remain safe. It becomes unsafe every time Canada lets in an immigrant that doesn't meet strict criteria. We must make it harder to get into Canada not easier. The safety of our citizens depends on it. I don't understand how people here don't understand that. I might add that many here live in small towns and have limited contact with foreigners at all. I find it humorous that people with the least amount of experience with immigrants wish to tell Canada what they should do with immigrants lol. lets band together to keep Canada a safe country for everyone.

However it does happen and maybe it can be avoided if we don't import people from cultures that include these types of behaviours that we in Canada don't adhere to.

So do you support honour killings, stoning of women, beheading of women for going to school? After all you just said that you support foreign cultural practices being incorporated in Canada. What limits do you put on acceptable cultural practices being tolerated in Canada? The Roma people always live with other Romas and have little to do with the outside community. Is this a behaviour that will make for an inclusive Canada? How?

The socialists are constantly talking about not judging a whole group of people by the actions of one. However they seem to have no problem doing it when it serves them.

I am a speaker of the truth. This is often the case when I speak as the facts I use speak for themselves. People are often afraid of the truth and instead seek to smear me personally, rules be damned.

Whenever someone talks about an undesirable area to live or the most dangerous areas of Toronto they are almost always talking about an area where the majority of the population is black. This is a problem that needs a solution because it takes away from the good people in those areas. When people talk about good areas to live they are almost always "white" areas. Again it would be good to find the reason for this and help those communities that are lacking so that we can have lower crime rates across the board. My wife is of mixed race and grew up in a "bad" area but went to Uni and became a productive member of society as did her siblings which leads me to believe that the bad people aren't being raised properly. Both of my wifes parents worked as well so it makes me wonder how some become well adjusted and some others become drug dealers and murderers.

Is importing people whose cultural practices have little in common with the majority of Canadians a part of Canadian values as well?People who have shown little desire to assimilate and choose to live in their own enclaves. Is this a Canadian value?

The Liberal party was a good party until Trudeau. PET took the party from the centre to the left. This cannot be debated. The Liberals are now so left wing that they are seen as equals to the NDP in terms of position. The Tories have taken over the centre now. Canada doesn't have a national right wing party anymore and hasn't since the Reform party.

I could live with kicking Quebec out, they want to leave anyways, let them go. Otherwise it would be fine to let French peoole in as long as they stayed within French speaking villages and didn't expect for English majority spaces to teach tem eEnglish for free. I'm not saying that either. Our unemployment rate is fairly high right now as it is so we cannot simply let people in with n skills that we cannot use. It's time to be more picky and oinly choose those immigrants that Canada can use right away. No more unskilled labour. Canada needs professional people, doctors etc. And people with money to open businesses and buy houses. I don't see what is wrong with wanting only the very best people to share my country, limiting the uneducated and poor people. Canada has enough of those.

I expect the people we let in to not kill our citizens. Until they earn their citizenship they are in Canada to serve me and prove to me that they deserve to belong to my country. Citizenship should be earned not given out freely like it is now.We must take great care in who we let in. Not all people are equal in nature and we must only let in the very best we can find. No matter what race, gender, sexual orientation, or culture. We must choose the best, most skilled and richest immigrants to come to Canada.
