  1. Obama is a one trick pony and will be elected simply because he black,a novelty. Nothing more. Can anyone here describe his platform for me? He lays out no way to attain his goals. Just says he will do this and this and that, sounds familiar. He's a great orator I'll give him that.
  2. It isn't my priority at all just a good idea for some time down the road. Sheesh, everyone here is so mean spirited and cynical. I feel sorry for you all...for about 10 secs, then I no longer care..lol.
  3. I'm sure the CPC and BQ seats will pretty much stay as they are but the NDP will gain and the Liberals will lose. Dion will step down and Rae will win the next Leadership race. Harper will also not run again after this and a new star will have to rise for the CPC or Rae will be the next PM.
  4. I see so anyone who agrees with any of these things is a social con and uneducated and live in rural areas? I wonder what makes city living folks to think they can dictate to the rest of us. Are they more Canadian then we are? More educated? Ah I got it...more entitled to their entitlements, right? Or perhaps they are allowed to sell non existent advertising to friends then lie under oath about it? Also for the record, it's mouthBREATHER not breeder whatever that may be.
  5. How many 1,000,000,000's of dollars do we need to spend for them to be self sufficient? Enough is enough already. We need to deliver conditions on this aid money and not just send it blindly as they do now. If some accountability was incorporated perhaps there would be more money available for our own people. We need to start raising our own standard of living and not concern ourselves so much with others.
  6. In times of uncertainty the markets trust a conservative govt to be in power, no matter what country. If any party other than the CPC win, you should see an abrupt downswing in the markets soon after. Aside from that. Can anyone prove that Dion or Layton have solid plans for the economy? Harper has the experience to lead in these difficult times. Over the last 2+ years we have been stable. Why should we take a risk like Dion or Layton?
  7. Well some tax incentives for companies are important. They are the ones who will be giving our people the good paying jobs everyone wants. Even Layton knows this. Every party will do the exact same thing but they like to play politics and say what is popular to the public. Why is it that when Pharmacare is mentioned, everyone talks about seniors? There are plenty of working people and working families who would benefit from this program. Just to mention seniors is just parroting what is seen on the news.
  8. Harper is very far from being a social conservative...that's ridiculous. Plain and simple. There has been a huge increase in social spending and immigration since the 1960's no matter who was living at Sussex. So give it a rest already. The CPC is really just the Liberals of the 50's and 60's. Every party has taken a step to the left. Instead of parroting the CBC, please comment on how he is a social conservative.
  9. That may be a fair statement. Can you qualify it please? I for one would take money from overseas aid to help pay for it. We have been sending many many countries aid for decades. They are far too used to being a welfare state and we need to cut them off. Since we send TENS OF BILLIONS($10,000,000,000) of dollars overseas EVERY YEAR, surely we can cut back on that aid which has been going on for decades. And for little to no return I might add, aside from getting their refugees which sit on our dole ranks of course. We, as Canadians, need to stop feeling guilty about putting ourselves number one and take care of our own first and foremost.
  10. Pharmacare works great in the UK and Ferance. I think Canada should have it as well. What is the main opposition stance to it?
  11. I actually like Jack Layton's style. He is by far the most interesting of the current cast to listen to. I don't agree with all of his politics but he has an "approachable" quality about him that the others seem to lack. I am starting to like the idea of Pharmacare. They have it in the UK and it works great, why not in Canada.
  12. Political parties should be able to claim whatever they want as their platform without persecution. Voters are the ones who decide who is legitimate.
  13. If we are headed for economic turmoil as the opposition parties are claiming, isn't it time to slow down immigration. After all if Canadians are out of work what sense does it make to keep taking in new Canadians? Shouldn't we be finding hard working Canadians jobs after the collapse of the manufacturing sector? It seems strange to me that immigration is to remain high when all opposition parties are claiming we are heading to a recession. If we go into a recession wouldn't the new Canadians needlessly further strain our social assistance system? Obviously I am not speaking of those who come here bringing money to start businesses etc. I am speaking of the ones who go directly onto the public dole and remain there. The LPC and the NDP claim that we have lost 400,000 manufacturing jobs since the CPC came to power. Is it prudent to allow over 400,000 immigrants into the country in the same time span if we are on the verge of recession? Seems irresponsible to me.
  14. I understood the question just fine the first time the interviewer read it. Am I some sort of genius? No. I am an average Canadian. The Liberals will be getting a new leader after this election. TLPC knows that this man is not the man of the future. I am sure the CPC hopes he stay's as laeader as he makes an easy target. MC
