Yap Yap Yap ? Okay? Here's what was included in the article: “According to multiple former senior US officials we spoke with, in April 2022, Russian and Ukrainian negotiators appeared to have tentatively agreed on the outlines of a negotiated interim settlement.” But two things happened, after which a member of the Ukrainian delegation, Mykhailo Podoliak, had to openly admit that it was "not the time" for the meeting of the presidents. The first thing was the revelation of the atrocities, rapes, murders, massacres, looting, indiscriminate bombings and hundreds and thousands of other war crimes committed by Russian troops in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories… The second "obstacle" to agreements with the Russians arrived in Kyiv on 9 April." (Boris Johnson's arrival). So three things happened here that apparently scuttled whatever outlined and tentative deal was discussed: 1) The Bucha massacre was revealed 2) The Russians fled from Ukraine with their tails between their legs (changing all of the calculus) 3) Boris Johnson explained Putin/Russian weakness to Zelensky and encouraged them to not to accept their demands. All three of these things are ample reason for the Ukrainians to want to continue fighting. Or the Russians, who've made clear that energy is a weapon they'll use to retaliate against sanctions. Putin will never have more leverage in this regard than he does right now. Europe's dependence on Russian gas will only diminish from here. He's already a pariah and those pipelines will be worthless hunks of metal in a year or two if he's still in power. He has nothing to lose from sabotaging them and it's another way of blackmailing Europe and causing general chaos and confusion.

Don't you ever tired of stringing words together that don't make any sense? What, exactly, do you figure people were wrong about here? ? "According to Ukrainska Pravda, the other factor that scuttled peace talks was the discovery of massacred civilians in Bucha and other areas near Kyiv that Russia withdrew from around the time negotiations were being held." The thing about clowns like this is that they don't actually read the stuff they try to cite, and even when they do, they're not doing so with any sort of critical lens.

Not as okay as you seem to be with Putin's full-scale invasion. No doubt you thought you had an intelligent point to make here, but the logic unfortunately isn't there. So...yes. I'm absolutely okay with the West providing material support to the Ukrainians so they can fight off a megalomaniacal ex-KGB colonel with delusions of Empire.

Donkey-logic. This would have us believe that sovereignty only matters if you can defend it by yourself, which would mean that any smaller nation has no sovereignty in the face of larger aggressors. That's a mind-melting set of rules you've constructed - more copium to treat the discomfort of watching Great Leader's magnificent faceplant. Maybe you should consider keeping a diary of your feelings. Dear Diary: This is so UNFAIR! Big Brave Vlad was "liberating" Ukraine from those awful "Nazis" and they DARED to seek outside help! Those COWARDS! They were supposed to either fight and lose against against a country with 10x the resources and 3x the population, or surrender and let Big Brave Vlad have what he wanted! They're not allowed to do this! ? -Nationalist

No doubt you do, Putin lickspittle that you are. The problem is that you can't form a coherent explanation for that, beyond a balogna Kremlin narrative about NATO "encroachment" and made-up NATO promises that Gorbachev discredited years ago. After 15-20 years of Russian military adventurism and border-redrawing, it's fascinating that you somehow can't understand why small neighbor states would feel threatened and want assurances of protection. buuut whaaaatabout HUnter Biiiiden! ?

Anyone not subscribing to alternate reality. No, they were just the first nation in the world to begin pursuing that capability, and were the reason the Americans started the Manhattan project in the first place. ? You're insane for suggesting anyone here does, especially considering nobody here has said as much. Not only that, but Russia has no capability to undertake such a conflict and the Americans aren't interested besides. That's just Putin-lickspittle nonsense.
-
He's not. If you knew anything about history, you'd know that the pretexts that Hitler cooked up for the annexation of western Czechoslovakia were almost identical to Putin's for Ukraine. "Ethnic Germans Russians are being oppressed in the Sudetenland Donbas! We must intervene!" Magnificent work confirming everyone's impression of your ignorance. While raving about Neo-Nazis and parroting Kremlin talking points, you appear to know nothing about the actual Nazis whose footsteps Putin is following.

There it is. The first, last and only line of defense in the conspiracy clown handbook. Screech about the MSM and how everything it says around the world is false, but the "journalist" embedded in the Russian army is delivering nothing but the truth. ? Those are some stupefying mental gymnastics you're doing there ser. The only person demanding war was your idol Vladimir, and with the myth of his power and genius crumbling to dust, you're trying desperately to cling to your alternate reality. "Nono! Russia Stronk! Glorious Leader will prevail! You are all cowards and war mongers! I want PEACE! Just let Putin take what he wants and everything will be good!"

Hate to break it to you, but there's already a full-scale war going on in Europe. Russia committed the bulk of its armed forces in Ukraine and managed to lose most of it. It's hard to understate the scale of this failure and the depth of military incompetence, along with how wildly the world overestimated Russian strength. Limp threats of "escalation" are all Putin has left now. He has the nuclear option, but the argument there is, "Let us invade and take your territory or we will nuke you" and even China won't go along with that. Go review the headlines written by the "author" of that article you cited. The first hint at the source's lack of credibility is in website's name, "The True Defender". Since that obvious red-flag went over your head, try and find any outside information on the article's author, or any of the site's other writers, because beyond a stock photo of some pretty girl and a 2-3 line "biography", there's nothing. You are comedy gold. ?

Which is why little Putin has been peeing his panties and raving about NATO "encroachment" for the last 15 years - because it's toothless. ? The poorest country in Europe received a tiny portion of "toothless" NATO's arsenal, and they shattered Russia's invading armies with it. Watching Putin's smooth-brained fanboys coping with the collapsing illusion of his grandeur is just...the best.

The Myth of Black Slavery in Canada. The Big Lie.
Moonbox replied to Bill67's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Oh boy. Let us correct ourselves then. Black slavery existed in the British Colony that eventually became Canada. ? -
Mostly fighting insurgencies, intervening in civil wars and battling mighty powerhouses like Georgia (pop. 4.9M). I'm not sure what you think bullying Georgia proves, but now we see what the Russian military can really do. Certainly even you're not impressed with it, are you? You could fairly say that North Korea is more repressive than Russia, but it's still just a police state pretending not to be. I know the manosphere and the conspiracy parade revere Putin as Strong Manly Man, but the detachment from reality we're seeing here is shattering that comfy illusion.

and just more limp projection from you. Funny thing is that this was never at any point a productive discussion. You started from a point of comical ignorance and just repeated the same nonsense in different ways, demanding evidence for self-evident facts you couldn't accept that were quickly and easily provided. The only intelligent thing you said this entire thread was, "I'm unaware of..." and you probably should have stopped there. Everything else you said just fortified your obvious lack of knowledge...and this cringey obsession with "Ben" that you've repeated dozens of times. ?

That's the thing about fools. They never know it's them. I just gave you an entire country, clown - the most populous one of all. In your little pea-brain, however, there's only one "Islam", and you're just a more or less observant Muslim, whatever that even means. Forget the Sunni/Shia schism, or the dozens of different sects and theologies that all exist in different places. There's just the "mainstream version" or something...yup!

Hahahaha. The Bible being the best-selling book in history proves that it was divinely inspired! For sure! Yep! ? The Holy Spirit directed men to write that non-virgins should be stoned, that women shall be silent and not permitted to teach or hold authority over men. Bastard children being unclean in the eyes of God and unable to enter His Congregation even 10 generations later was "divinely inspired", along with the exclusion of the disabled and the maimed. If you actually studied the Bible and gave it even a moment's critical thinking, you'd not say such things.
