Obama famously said that life is filled with wins and losses - mostly private. He noted that politics is different - the wins and losses are very public.

I would like to be a fly on the wall to witness this. 1. Trump will look Carney directly in the eye and say: "I am the reason you are here." Make no mistake, Trump made Carney Canada's PM. In America, Trump is a developer who worked in New York real estate, a showman who now gets vote from ordinary, working Americans: He stands up for America. Carney supposedly stood up for Canada! Except Carney worked for Goldman-Sachs and has lived abroad for most of his life. 3. Trump has been through the wringer - we know too much about the guy. No one knows anything about Carney.

Disagree. If it's a Liberal majority, Carney will be on the plane to Edmonton within a week. The Liberals know how to collect/share the trough.

Like sports, every election is a nail-biter. I haven't voted yet - but many people around me have. Curious. I suspect that many Canadians hear stories about American voting complications and want to vote. As I say, this is a referendum on Trump. And the Liberals are on the correct side. === I predict a Liberal majority - and a strong BQ opposition. Now then: will Poilievre stay in place?

All true. And I was wrong about Trump in 2016 too. ===== I just don't see a Tory minority in April 2025. I haven't done the provincial seat numbers but I think the Liberals have too many in Ontario. If the Conservatives get more seats than the Liberals, then PP could form a functional government with BQ support - as Harper did. As to Carney, I entirely agree. I understand the desire of politicians to create the term "Serbia & Montenegro" to describe a political entity. "Newfoundland & Labrador" is a similar fiction.
