  1. Compared to Peter Lougheed, Pierre Trudeau, Rene Levesque. We need someone like Bill Davis.
  2. Blackburn lost. Let's see what happens next.
  3. CdnFox, Our problem in Canada is not borrowing: it is how our bureaucrats spend the money. In the US, the bureaucrats are spending money they don't have.
  4. Northern BC is like rural Alberta. Look at the map.
  5. Truman was a remarkable President. At first glance, he was a Gerald Ford. ==== Operation Ajax? Huh?
  6. Here's the link that modern Apple (and the CBC/Radio-Canada) typically want to ignore: https://web.archive.org/web/20100501010616/http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
  7. Let me read the letter! Provide a link. What did Jobs say? ===== CBC and Radio-Canada are the same as wikipedia. Boring, predictable.

  10. No. At the time, we had two coaches: one guy with skates on the ice, and another guy on the bench.
  11. I could barely skate. One coach placed me on the ice, near the blue line. He told me to fall down - if the puck came near.
  12. Tim Horton! As a young player, my coach put me on the blue line.
  13. This is my point. When borrowing/debt servicing costs rise faster than spending? A state is not sustainable. True. But Canada is very, very far from this. ==== But how are our governments spending? What are government bureaucrats buying on our behalf?
  14. In all honesty, northern BC, this is not a part of Canada that I know. (I have been around Newfoundland several times. Canada is a very large country.)
  15. Cryptic? Good coaches put bad players on the blue line.
  16. Spectacular? Trump is a showman. Musk is willing to try something new.
  17. A tax is a tax. A province is a province. A state is a state. Before Trump, I was astonished to learn that Americans can claim their local state taxes on their federal taxes. IOW, you Americans can use your state taxes to reduce your federal taxes. In Canada, this is not possible.
  18. Disagree. Northern BC are like most Albertans.
  19. Moonbox, I am going to assume you are a real person. As a kid, I first played defense. My coach told me to fall down. Why?
  20. Wow! herbie, I thought that you were a real person, an English-Canadian poster.
  21. Strongly disagree. ====== This conversation is hilarious. User, it may become epic.
  22. Newfoundland is Catholic and Protestant. Newfoundlanders get along. Canada is both English and French, Catholic and Protestant. we sometimes vote by language, religion. Our team.
  23. Economic growth is not based on government debt to GDP ratio. Far more important, what are the government people doing? ===== We buy stuff and hire people to work for us. For the past 100 years, it's about 20% of what we do.
