  1. America is a neat place. Your Constitution allows you people to tell the truth: no double jeopardy. ==== I reckon that we know everything about Kennedy, and his death. We will never know about Stalin or Mao: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Private_Life_of_Chairman_Mao
  2. Agree, Michael. The attached video convinced me that Oswald was a lone guy.
  3. https://www.montrealgazette.com/news/the-corner-booth/article1038769.html
  4. Your federal American government has already borrowed over 100% of your GDP. Clearly, you are borrowing faster than you can pay back. And, you Americans want to borrow more?
  5. From what I understand, with this budget, the US federal debt will increase by $3 trillion over 10 years. Or, $300 billion per year. The US GDP is about $30 trillion at present. You Americans plan to borrow against your future growth. ==== If the US GDP is growing faster, federal tax revenues will grow faster. But if not, the US government is a Ponzi scheme.
  6. Whatever. We in Canada are in good shape: Chretien/Martin fixed our budget. Harper maintained it. Trudeau Jnr? True, he spent alot - alot - but we Canadians are still in good shape. ====== We Canadians spent alot - but what did we get?
  7. Trudeau Snr? He could have lived and retired abroad. Instead, he retired (and died) in Montreal.
  8. Carney is no Canadian. His wife certainly isn't. But you are. You and your wife are Canadian. ===== Trudeau Snr and Diefenbaker stood up for Canada. Poilievre, Play the nationalist card. You can.
  9. Huh? My daughter & SIL, once die hard open-minded people - are now Trump-style conservatives. I'm an old-style Mulroney federalist.
  10. Ontario? Ford? Quebec? None offer a way for Alberta to get its wealth to the ocean, the world. ===== How much would you Albertans pay?
  11. I have been watching late 1940s/early 1950s movies. On Youtube. They are predictable in the same way that current "Netflix/HBO/MSNBC etc. shows" are predictable. Predictably Correct. ===== Here's the difference: Woke is boring. The Hays code was fun.
  12. Sardonic. This word troubled me: Its origin, etymology. ==== I have never met Woody Allen.
  13. WTF? Sumeria? ==== New York?
  14. Same difference. The Hays Code is no different than the current Woke/Political Correctness Code. ==== The Hays code was fun, a challenge to test.
  15. I stand by my idea: Poilievre didn't stand up for Canada.
  16. Very strongly disagree. Greek style? This post/Global link is hyperbolic. ===== People renewing mortgages have known about this. New buyers have known about this. In Canada, we have five-year terms. The Bank of Canada has been transparent. If anything, I'm with Trump. The Fed should cut rates.
  17. Those ads PAID the salaries of the reporters, journalists. Most people didn't read what reporters wrote - they bought the paper for the ads.
  18. In America, in the fullness of time, I suspect that this will all become apparent. https://anncoulter.com/2025/07/17/bondis-absurd-epstein-excuses/ =====
  19. 1. Citibank does NOT operate as BMO. 2. Clueless. 3. Videotron. Quebec. There's your tell... 4. We send them aluminium, New Zealand can send better/cheaper butter to Canada.
  20. Disagree. I am Canadian. I have lived abroad. Faced various groups of women, men, whatever. If someone asked me to have a group of guys beside me in war/battle? Russian. ===== Western Ukrainian? They flake.
  21. I see a big difference between Russia, and the Soviet Union. ==== After 1945, the Soviet Union - Marxism/socialism - was a threat to the western world. Since 1991, nowadays, Russia is a player.
  22. America defeated the Soviets, the Communists. You guys won. ==== Now, let's get along.
  23. In the past, people bought newspapers for classified advertisements - or the sports page. This paid for journalism. The ads were full page, or in the lower right; like the yellow pages. (Remember the yellow pages.) ===== Nowadays, the ads are f*uped javascript, written by guys in India, that randomly take over the entire screen.
  24. Let me repeat, this is the 1910s. ===== We are now living in a world similar to the late 1890s. Europeans have forgotten 1815.
  25. Herbie, User, This is a no-brainer. Albertans should have their own pension fund. Our Constitution allows it. Quebec does. Its called the Caisse. BTW, Quebec uses its fund for local projects. You Albertans know better. ===== The federal CPP determines how much to pay, monthly - even in Quebec. But what about the savings?
