Time to ban third party advertising in Ontario
Bob Macadoo replied to Scotty's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Way to move those goal posts. I don't know what quid you want shown to you, you wanted a 3rd party (Taxpayer Federation / Corporation-funded) spending hard now at the line. Partisan is as partisan does I guess. Listen to any radio and you'll hear it, they are eerily similar to the Working Families commercial. Like they hired the same PR firm which I wouldn't doubt. -

"Working Canadians", cripes they're even narrated by Katherine Swift from ON Taxpayer's Federation.....might as well had Hudak do it.Oh but they are only against Wynne, not for Hudak I guess that counts though right -

The problem I have is that all 3 parties will be deep in debt and will be unwilling to hold the minority gov't (whoever "wins") to the fire lest they trigger another useless election. So either Wynne will crazily spend, Hudak will stupidly cut, or Horvath will ignorantly tax and no opposition will stop them out of selfishness. Great democracy we got there. -
ughhh...trying to get past the crap in here... Thanks for the info BC, US trumpeting is useful for once. So you are saying Bergdahl can't be put in command until he completes the leadership training and is assessed successfully AND there is a direct need for a new squad leader, not just cause..... ......so he gets to call himself a SGT but it doesn't mean anything.....doesn't that dilute rank causing disdain/disenfranchisement with it?

Step Parent Child Support Laws and Ethics
Bob Macadoo replied to Bob Macadoo's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
What is the definition of "need"? That is the problem. If step parent was richer than bio parent, then "need" (eg. Rep hockey) increases proportionately. Thats why its a maximum cash grab. Unless the courts define need at being a threshhold not one of those "too subjective" ( @ OGFT) thing to discuss rationally. -

See Post 50 & 52. I want limits....and billionaires already do through third parties (RE; "Institutes"). -

That's a view. Others contend elections have very little to do with 3 (or a couple more) individuals but is (or should) be about policy and what direction we want our community to go.As it stands the person you vote for usually has nothing to do with name on you ballot, but on a political machine promoting him funded bypeople who know nothing about "Joe Blow" on the ballot. That is just as disgusting to me as a faceless union funding ads and really a distinction without a difference. -
http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/bowe-bergdahl-released/bowe-bergdahl-loses-automatic-promotion-staff-sergeant-n123896 So Bergdahl could lead a squad into battle for just being (ie. Not earning it IMO) a PONEW? (New Term: Prisoner of Never Ending War) Sounds like one of the signs of a slothly union....promotion without merit....ughh. Now Bergdahl is also agreeing he didn't earn it. Who would've though the #1 representation of the USA is just a big rich union. I haven't a problem him going up the payscale, but title should mean something in the military at least.....he should still be a PFC, doing those duties if he was ever put back into duty.

So if the unions could run the same ads but for cheaper that'd be OK? Or are you saying set the cap so low that web ads will be all they could buy? I agree with limits but I think people here really don't, they mean "gag those unions" but know how that sounds.Let's not stop there though, let's ban press releases for anything that a Fraser Institute, Cdn Taxpayer Federation, Centre for Policy Alternatives, and Broadbent Institute puts out. Their reports will be there if you want to find them but we stop the sensational headlines gotcha journalist write, these "white paper" synopses have too much influence. -

Right.....he's lucid now....but over there he's a whack job. It was still all over the place. I will tell you now....all that crap about keeping the step parent out is completely false.....judges want to assess the entire family situation. Beyond that he was addressing when 2 bio parents are in court with mates.....not second mates splitting. So irrelevant to the discussion, and just as accurate as he is in any other thread. You pray at his altar though. -

Why do you need to be convicted first, get out of town as soon as you can......unless its b/c you want your cake and eat it too. -
Apparently you weren't around for that earlier thread rant.....

What's sleazier than 3rd Party ads......Party Ads made to look like "real" newspaper articles/covers with invalid if not untrue information. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/06/04/ontario-election-2014-pcs-ndp-newspaper-ads_n_5445797.html Like I said "None of the Above". -
Isn't that like asking jaywalkers what they want the traffic laws to be, afterall who would know better?

They all sucked.....where is that None of the Above. Hudak started by saying "I won't be as media savvy as these two" (ie. elite...which he is) then proceeded into a bunch of greasy car salesmen pitches (eg. fire ministers at the drop of a hat, take a pay cut, resign if I break a promise.....blah blah blah). Then had the balls to say his "million jobs" is one of those economist things (again trying to create an anti-elitism environment) Wynne looked like a stammering fool keeping to some repeated line about...."I apologized I apologized......" Horvath went too personal and not policy.....kill the policy not the character.
