  1. Hear. Hear. Either it's a non-event or it'll base your vote choice. I believe the former.....but to make it his defining moment is hyperbole.
  2. More than 25.....consecutive terms....assault, etc. He can run for the border on appeal, same as her. CBSA obviously doesn't look up warrants/convictions, they let her in without a note to file. You are jumping through the hoops you derided us for here......the crime of ending a fetus is the debate here......bringing up other charges is specious. He will be incarcerated for a non-crime.......it is an excellent example of hypocrisy. Bravo Tim.
  3. So are you saying that if he is tried, convicted, sentenced, appealed and then being sent for 30 yrs for an abortion pill he could then apply for protected status for unusual punishment. What if a polygimist in Saudi doesn't want to be stoned......are they SOL because its a crime here as well?
  4. What are you quoting from the law society....their definition of unreasonable force....which isn't defined as such in no statute I can find. In that Point 2 is absurd as a "means test", youth can feel alienated at the drop of a hat. As emotionally charged as this issue is Cyber is more or less correct.
  5. There are threads created to address engagement, negative behaviours, etc., and after trying to contribute.......this crap surfaces. Sounds more like Neanderthal man is afraid of his extenction from Homo Sapien. ;p
  6. Too often how these threads go......thanks for some sanity.Unlike....blah blah blah Obamacare dig.....
  7. You know Rue has just found his next Hudson Jones.....sigh.
  8. "Grumble grumble grumble......in my day we walked 10 miles to school in the snow...uphill...both ways.....you whippersnappers don't know how to create a topic like us that gets the proper attention it deserves.....grumble."
  9. .......he doesn't report news.... most often he makes open debate questions in relation to the topic but doesn't take a partisan knee jerk opinion that alot do here......that turns me off to their thread. EG. "Obamacare Website Down" - When can we impeach him?
  10. I agree its FUBAR, but really you can bring a civil suit against a stalk of celery.....doesn't mean it won't be dismissed without merit.
  11. No one is asking Canada to change its laws, only to respect and honour the diplomatic ties these two countries maintain. The sentence in my guess wouldn't receive the reaction we've given it, even in those states with statutes similar to ours. Which also begs the question whywait until caught if you believe in this cause, why not declare for protected status as soon as you cross the border? Again my guess is she thought we'd send her back and it wasn't so against the norm.
  12. Sometimes you have the buffet when you're on vacation.
  13. At least in our own backyards Hydro is implementing responses to beyond original design events (larger earthquakes, earthquakes and floods, etc.); hopefully to accommodate these unforseen events.
  14. You pump in the seawater. Some stayed to finish their duty while others blindly followed the guy in front of him down the road. People wonder why we pay the high salaries of these professionals, its to maintain the plant safe during operation and being trained to react precisely and logically in the event of the horrible. The public welfare is in their hands.
  15. Thank-you for the link, I couldn't find the order. As well she appealed her case, it would seem, based on a perceived bias by the trial judge and juror. This was rejected by the IRB as well as the appellate courts, maybe she should've tried the cruel angle then.In any case I've never argued I agree with the sentence, only that Florida is not violating any common standards by imposing what they have legislated as just. You don't like those laws, pay lobbyists there to help change them. Diplomatic reciprocity is a bitch sometimes......from someone who likes to visit that state.
  16. Maybe Hudak has learned if he just hides for a couple weeks he's guaranteed to win.
  17. This was after the tsunami, when the emergency power went out and the spent fuel was heating up. Personnel were protected from the tsunami.
  18. We do. When you register as an atomic worker, to workbata registered facility (plant, university, etc.) with the federal gov't your name is available for drafting in the event of an accident. Soldiers are not trained so it can fall to those listed for protection roles. It is the duty of the authorized workers to stay and contain the event from dangerous exposure to the public.
  19. I think there were misunderstood orders without the questioning attitude that is muted in Japanese culture. Unfortunately we have a manager who may have been inflating his legacy who cannot be requestioned now.The question is opened though......have we learned from this and put in place the appropriate training etc that will prevent our saviours from marshalling miles away in an event.
  20. I think they are subject to the same scrutiny, not identical though. You still haven't answered though, is 30 yrs appropriate for sexual assault of a minor (<16)? Your obfuscation is shining through.....Argus was direct 30 yrs is too much no matter the circumstance.......I don't know if I agree but at least he is logically congruent.
  21. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/21/world/asia/fukushima-workers-fled-plant-after-accident-despite-orders.html?_r=2 This is a new take....human condition vs profession responsibility. The Ukainians didn't get an option at Chernobyl; bullet to the head or fight nuclear fire. Do we blame these workers if the Plant Manager is to be believed? In Canada we have an atomic worker voluntary draft if ever the situation arose that needed it. Would we jump in if given the choice?
  22. See this is what we don't really know......just b/c John Mackay or Jim Karygiannis feel left out in the cold doesn't make it so. He may have built a significant (not total) consensus in the caucus but felt to go public quickly so to be "open" before nominations went too far. I think he could've played the media game better but the ideal behind it was appropriate.
  23. Its hard to say......the closer William approaches the throne I bet the stuffier he gets.......even liberal Charles is subject to the outdated practices of commoner conversation, etc.
  24. You didn't cite that from a reliable source.......reported and ignored....
  25. Well since you confirmed its all nonsense, is this thread finished now?
