  1. I bet you would have said that 6 years ago too.
  2. He needs to go and read the statute of Westminster
  3. We participated as Canadians.
  4. Since the Statute of Westminster was in 1931 our troops that enlisted in the canadian armed forces did indeed fight as Canadians, those Canadians who entered (volunteered) the British military forces like the RAF, Royal Navy, or the british army fought for Britian, and also those from New Foundland were british troops (as newfoundland was still admisnistered by Britian and had joined Canada yet) under the command of the Canadians.
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commanders_of_World_War_II#Canada Who commanded the Canadians.
  6. You should tell that to my uncle. He would tend to disagree, since he spent 3 years in a Canadian uniform, fighting the Germans between 42 and 45.
  7. So the pst may be removed from used vehicles, from the MLA, but you don't believe that just the "banter" fromt he industry, which is maybe as credible as the MLA.
  8. The 4.3 will be introduced as part of a ways and means motion, a tax amendment can't be introduced this way.
  9. We also have a flat tax here as well we have no provincial marginal tax rates. We pay at least 10% less then the rest of the country. This was all done back when we had a real conservative atr the helm of the finances of this province. Thank you Stock
  10. Its pretty easy to understand.
  11. Nothing in the GST is being changed not one thing, what is being changed is what the pst applies to. The GST cannot be amended without a bill in the house of commons, no bill has been introduced or put on the house list. The Province of Ontario is introducing the motion to Harmonize the "provincial" sales tax with the federal. All of the changes being made are being made by the province on their tax not the other way around.
  12. So you will admit then that is is a provincial tax grab not a federal?
  13. YOu pay gst on the full amount if you have no trade in so yes GST is charged on used vehicles
  14. Now its time for a classic pincer movement to crush them in a hammer and anvil.
  15. Either we are seeing a repeat of Britian about 90 years ago or a repeat of what happened to the PC's here in the 90's. Not sure what I would wish for more.
  16. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of the 64 mb of info, i would love to pour through it myself.
  17. Wow just wow, Now what was said about big oil footing the bill for sceptics, and how their studies where tainted.
  18. Sounds a lot like my job for travel, just a little more stress. I bet you see some amazing things.
  19. without knowing what it is you do I will reserve my opinion until I have a better understanding, but I will say this I have not seen a job yet with a high enough stress level to warrent that time off. If I were a private owner and my shop was going to unionize, I would close the doors and out source what i could to china.
  20. When did you start to speak for all Canadians? Do you have prove of what you allege or are you just slandering. I think it is more of the later.
  21. Q. Will HST apply to the same things as the GST? Goods and services that are taxable under the GST will be taxable under HST, except for the items eligible for a point of sale rebate on BC’s portion of the harmonized tax. Although there is GST on these items, the B.C. portion of the HST will not apply (i.e., you will not pay the B.C. portion of the tax). Nothing that is currently exempt from GST will be subject to HST. If you do not pay GST on an item now, you will not pay HST after harmonization. GST-exempt items will be HST-exempt and zero-rated items for GST purposes will be zero-rated under the HST. Q. What is the difference between zero-rated and exempt? Under the GST and HST, there are three different ways that goods and services are treated: they are taxable, exempt or zero-rated. Taxable Most goods and services are taxable, which means that HST is charged on the supply of those items. Businesses making taxable supplies can claim input tax credits credits to recover tax paid on inputs used in making those supplies. Examples: cars, clothing, furniture, haircuts. Exempt Consumers do not pay HST on exempt items (i.e., businesses or people making exempt supplies do not charge HST). Those making exempt supplies cannot claim input tax credits to recover tax paid on inputs used in making those supplies. Examples: health and dental services, financial services, long-term residential rental accommodation, child-care services, educational services. Zero-rated Consumers do not pay HST on zero-rated items (i.e., they pay a 0 per cent tax rate) Those making zero-rated supplies can claim input tax credits to recover tax paid on inputs used in making those supplies. Examples: basic groceries, prescription drugs, medical devices, exports. http://www.gov.bc.ca/hst/faq.html Used cars have never been GST Exempt, you pay the GST at the dealership dealership
  22. All depends on what they spent the year prior, and how the cut has impacted service.
  23. The GST is not amended just the PST so so i would suspect it would be removed but GST is charged on used vehilces bought at acar dealership, unless you have a trade in then it is just charged on the difference.
  24. I understand you don't care how much is spent, just throw more and more money at the problems do nothing to fix the underlying issues.
  25. Your right reports of torture I have one more to add. Its been torture to listen to the socialists/loony left and their half baked ideas for my entire life.
