  1. Did you just how much we were spending this artical highlights it, so that the masses can go back and say no no too much find a better way.
  2. What are you talking about punked? There are no private monopolies in Canada, especially in the auto industry their are four companies with plants in Canada, not to mention how many privately run independent shops that build components for the car companies.
  3. SO you don't think their are any inefficiencies in the system? Do you understand that when a dept head receives a budget for x amount of dollars they find ways to spend it all even if it isn't needed because if they don't their budget is reduced next year. That is how bureaucracy works, in the real world.
  4. So what if they committed it, just because you are bugeted x amount of dollars doesn't mean you need to find something to spend it all in your dept.
  5. So don't work for them, quit and find a better job, their are no monopolies. The need for unions left half a century ago.
  6. What evidence? All that has been produced is the word of one colvin. You have provided no links to the Conservative government all that has been proved is that detainees were transferred to letter of the agreement with the Afghan government as per the arrangements made by the liberals of the time. So unless you have some verifiable evidence that warrants an investigation, quit Trying to waste tax money that is much better spent on domestic issues like health care.
  7. Calling unions unneeded is not union bashing.
  8. The GST is 5%, and yes it is a tax grab by the provincial government. As now they will get to charge the pst on items that were exempt from it, It won't change the GST though as no items are being added to it. As for Vancover King this is the fairest tax system of them all, and the rich do end up paying more of the tax as they buy more items and and typically more expensive ones. Their is no way to shelter yourself from it either so it has to be paid. Ideallly it woulod be best to almost total remove the income tax and move the taxation to consumption based taxes and corpate to a flat tax system.
  9. Still should have the audit and study, lots of waste in the world of bureaucrats, they probably could be a Little more efficient.
  10. There hasn't been a valid reason to strike since Canada brought in Federal and Provincial labour employment standard laws.
  11. Because it will be another huge waste of oney just like Mulroony Shreiber. we spent millions to find out nothing same thing will happen here, millions spent, and nothing will show. If colvin won't name his source it isn't worth the waste, if he does send a small investigative force to address the merits if the claim. Parlimentary investigative commitees are a huge waste of tax payer money, nothing ever comes of them, but the lawyers seem to get a little richer with each one.
  12. You should be looking at net profit, just because they have gross profit of 1.1 billion doesn't mean they are actually making anything. How much does the company make after it pays all its expenses.
  13. They should be darn greatful that they have gainfull employement when so many of their union brethern lost theirs. They have no just reason to strike. Just a sense of entitlement.
  14. What was the net profit? What are the wage levels at? What are the finacial backers of the company entitled to? They hold the financial risk if the company goes belly up. The employees are entitle to a pay scale of what the market can bear. Not what think they should get. If they don't think they get paid enough they could quit and find a better paying job elsewhere.
  15. All this will amount to is anouther collossal waste of money, for more parlimentary commitee hearings to find well nothing, do nothing, will amount to nothing. All this is going to do is make laywers money, and help no one.
  16. Their is no "at least" if I was a taxpayer in the US I would demand that the one doing the billing and the person who authorized it in the treasury dept both be charged.
  17. Wow only 230,000 but what was being said about the Mulrooney Shriber affair, was it a minor amount of money then, that sum wasn't much different then this. I could say the same about your ideology and common sense.
  18. The artical shows that the holes in the data go beyond the so called typo.
  19. It looks like it goes beyond careless. If the 15th district was the only mistake I would be inclinded to agree, but much of the data provided does not pass the smell test.
  20. For now, I'm sure Ed will be finding a creative way to up the taxes as he doesn't seem to understand that he, his cabinate and the rest of his government have a huge spending problem.
  21. As I said before look to the provincial goverments, it was a very clever ploy to remove items from the pst exempt list. In Other words the province governments are using this as a tax raise, as usual the NDP misses the mark, it is the provincial government looking for hiden ways to raise the taxes.
  22. You do realize that it is the taxed items on the pst that will increase, as the GST aplies to more goods and services in the provinces right? See it for what it is please a provincial tax grab
  23. "On March 26, 2009 in its annual budget, the province of Ontario announced its intention to merge the PST and GST to take effect on July 1, 2010" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonized_Sales_Tax
  24. I think you should consult your premier as it is the provincial politicans who have the say on whether or not it happens.
