No matter which side wins this debate the cable providers or the networks the consumer loses.

You obviously don't understand business, the cable companies will pass on the cost to the consumer, it works like that in any business if you increase operating costs the company passes those costs onto the consumer. That is how capitalism works, no matter what raise corporate taxes, ad levelies or regulation, any added cost of business is always passed on to the consumer hence, the consumer will pay, I'm surprised you have never heard that phrase before.

yes I would be be willing to pay a little more for the stations I watch, not to have all the crap and duplication.

If they did it it would probably remove some of the crap stations I tried of paying high prices to have the same show running on 20 different channels at the same time, whats the point of haveing a hundred channels if a quarter of them run the same show from one us network, another show is aired by another quarter of the stations from a different US network. to get the 9 channels I watch and the three the kids watch I have to take 8 diffent packages from the provider. I don't want the rest. I want history, discovery, space, fox news, cnn, Fox network, comedy, cbs, military channel, Family channel, ytv and teletoon If you think local news coverage is the most import thing on then you pay for it, I am happy getting my local news from other medias like the radio and the newspaper.

So you favor one province over another? We all had the deadline, but you seem to think quebec needs to be treated differently. Do you not think they should have to play by the same rules as the rest of Canada, or do think they should be held to a different standard.

It would be a very simple solution for the CRTC, make the cable companies pay the local stations, but allow the consumer to opt out, one way or the other the consumer will pay, and in this case if the consumer is going to pay allow them to decide if they want local stations part of their cable package, its fair to every party.

But they did have access to an equal amount, it will be there fault they couldn't get it together to take take advantage of it like the rest of canada.

Their is competition and it is increasing currently we have cable and satillite, soon we will also see tv signal offered through the phone companies as well as it is already starting in some markets in Canada. compitetion is here, now its just to get the crtc out of the way.

What Quebec doesn't want to play by the same rules as the rest of Canada.

We would just be better off if we could opt out of paying for it in the cable bundle, I would love to drop more then half of "local" channels in my bundle. I have 9 "Local" CBC channels from across the country, about the same for CTV channels, and a bunch of global ones. Out of all of them I only would like to have and pay for 2. I don't mind if the cable companies have to pay them to carry the channel, but I would like that reflected in my bill, if they have nothing I want to watch, I should be able to drop them from my channel list and bill.

1. you can't buy a race 2. 4% isn't a good showing when a year before the state went Democrat by more then 15% 3. After tonights result the healthcare bill won't pass,blue dog democrats who fear for their seats next year will not vote to pass it.

20 point swings are beyond the recent history of those states, you seem to also be forgetting the mayoral race, the lt gov. race, and the Attorney General races, I would not say that one won race out of eight is a good showing.

with out a Republican on the ballot, it is hardly telling as I said before, Americans don't vote for third party candidates. What is amazing is that Hoffman has been able to generate the current level of support. What you seem to miss is that with the "support" of the president the dems could not retain any seat in Virgina, or New Jersey. That is more telling these were huge swings in support from the presidential election.

I thought the republican dropped out of the NY 23. Had Hoffman been able to run under a Republican banner you can bet your buns it would have gone republican for sure, but because hoffman was forced to run as a third party I doubt he will win, Americans seem to hate thrid party canidates, too bad the GOP wasted their time with the democrat canidate they put forward as their own.

A Provincial Liberal in the Ontario government has already refuted the info presented in those articals, his statement was in the articals posted earler in the thread but you seem to have conviently decided to ignore them.

Do you see a campaign, I don't. I see the CPC advancing the stimulus, the same stimulus I might add that both the Liberal Party and the NDP were ready to excute a coup on the government to force it to create and spend. I don't lie, or mislead. I call them as I see them.
