Tories Win In and Out Election Spending Case
Alta4ever replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I posted it in the thread on the RCMP raid yesterday, you should see how the left wingers dismissed it around here, and tried to argue that this still doesn't prove anything. -
Those documents will have to produced If the opposition asks for them when Parliament is resumed in March. The media will do what it always does, which is jump from one Big story to another, living in the now. When the Governor Generals e-mail server goes down from the gargantuan influx mail over this then you will be right, but you and I both know that this is a partisan ploy Conservatives ploy to control the agenda, the liberal and NDP ploy false outrage. If they were really against this the opposition would be advocating removing the ability of the Pm to ask the GG to prorogue parliament. This isn't the case Ignatieff is on record saying he would use this parliamentary tool himself.

That about sums it up.

Actually I did fairly well, I wasn't the highest, but I wasn't the lowest. Though looking back those things were said when I was in school about the workloads, the heavy material and high tuition costs. like most I thought I was never gong to pay off the load it took 8 years. Life experience will show you that your problems seem worse in the moment then they really are.

2 PC MLA's defect to Wildrose Alliance
Alta4ever replied to Jerry J. Fortin's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
The Wildrose is what The Pc's were in '71. -
I am not spinning that the Conservatives lost 10% they those votes are gone will they return time will tell. But That support not moving to the other speaks volumes, it means they don't want what the other parties were offering either. Life was pretty easy in College as contrast to now, a part time job and a student loan, not much to worry about, though I thought it was hard then couldn't afford the car or steak dinners, just KD and hotdogs, but very little responsibility, aside from keep up averages, and showing up for work on time. Now I have to worry about work, children, saving for retirement, demands on time, bills, reports, markets, taxes, providing for the family, making right career moves. College was a lot easier. How much of the conservative base realizes that some of the red meat bills are actually private member bills that are unaffected by prorogation. Harpers stumble was not effectively communicating why this was needed before doing it. His sound bites so far have been very ineffective. But the outrage has peaked, not really hearing about in the news the last few days. Aside from Haiti what I am seeing in te way of political news is speculation about a cabinate shuffle, after that the media will be decrying the senate appointments, then we will hear nothing about federal politics, and a whole lot about protesters at the the Olympics and the Olympics itself. After all of that we will hear about the Throne speech and then the outrage from the vested interests over the budget.

“Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” for 2009
Alta4ever replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Don't worry we understand you waldo and the code words of the left wing. non-biased = democrat friendly -
Inexperienced teenagers thinking they no more the rest of the world they haven't changed much since I left college. If Canadians were so upset Ignatieff, and Layton would be talking about going to the polls, they would be talking about constitutional amendments. None of this talk just sideways talk about how this is undemocratic yet Ignatieff indicates he would use this parliamentary tool if he were Prime Minister.

2 PC MLA's defect to Wildrose Alliance
Alta4ever replied to Jerry J. Fortin's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
For this current PC government a sharp veer to the right is still centre left. -
Except that in your polls it points out that 65% either aren't paying attention or aren't following it closely. In other words don't care. I don't frequent University coffee shops so I don't hear that talk, but it certainly isn't what I am hearing at the local coffee shops from people living in the real world. I the various contacts I have across this country.

RCMP raids Tory party headquarters
Alta4ever replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
But you three can go ahead ignore the whole article, for one line at the end. For you foaming at the mouth morons go ahead and live in your delusions instead of having to admit your wrong. -
RCMP raids Tory party headquarters
Alta4ever replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Last line of the artical, but this set the precedence that all 60 candidates get their expenses back. Since they have found in favor here it will only be time until the "investigation" is settled. -
What you are doing Toad is fear mongering to put out you propaganda. Had this mattered all of the opposition would be calling for an election, calling to open up the constitution and charter. I repeat there is nothing democratically wrong with Harper proroguing parliament, and there was nothing illegal about it. YOU JUST DON"T LIKE HIS REASONS FOR DOING SO!

I guess you missed the title of the Article you linked to -
You don't seem to see it for what it is, it is all political posturing. The liberals and the NDP spin one way. The Conservatives spin another. The crux of the issue whether or not it is democratic, it is our Constitution says so. Whether you like the reasons presented by Harper is a different issue. Why is that so you hard for you people to understand? Now if the Liberals and the NDP want to open up the constitution and charter lets do it to (remove the ability to prorogue), but I guarantee you it will mark the end of Canada as we know it.

RCMP raids Tory party headquarters

Legally a party can transfer funds to a Candidate or Riding association, and all three of those entities can transfer fund among themselves. So try again. -
RCMP raids Tory party headquarters
Alta4ever replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Actually William because you say so doesn`t make it so. The Canadian Judicial system ruled in the Conservative Parties favour, that these were legitimate expenses by Candidates on advertising. That in and of itself proves without a doubt that there was no fraud. There was no missing information, the judge had, all of the relevent material,, the election canada reports, the campaign expense receipts, the funding information, and the ads themselves. They had all the info needed to make judgement in this case, and wait for it FOUND IN FAVOUR OF THE CONSERVATIVES! This has me wondering though when are the RCMP going to raid the Liberal party headquarters for Elections Canada over the unpaid leadership debts that are now far over due. -

I met Greg once at our Legion, he seemed to be a very caring and generous man. Canadians are loosing a good Parliamentarian. Enjoy your retirement Greg.
