Liberals Sit Out Most Votes of Any Party
Alta4ever replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If the vote was with the government I'm sure 3 that had grounds for medical leave wouldn't be missed. I 'm sure that the whole liberal; caucus doesn't all get sick at the same time. When the whole party left the chamber did they all have the flu? -

A vehicle is a write off when its costs the insurance company more to fix it then replace it. This is insurance we are talking about its dull its boring there is no "outside the box". -

Those higher echelons have to answer to the share holders, and how would you hide a million dollar loss on a bad policy. Thank you I know my industry very well, I have worked on the broker side, I have worked on the company side, I have sold everything from homeowners policies to heavy manufacturing. I have done personal life, group life, disablity policies, critical illness and long term care. I know my industry inside and out. Let me lay this out for everyone you cannot back door this kind of policy as there are so many check and balances in the system that it would be caught. -

There is very little mean spiritedness and vindictiveness, it just when someone is told what they don't want to hear they take it that way. -

This is years of expercience talking on both sides of insurance Property & Casualty and Life & Accident & sickness. You can't write policies were a prexisting condition will claim the life of the insured within weeks or months, this would be a huge underwriting loss for the company. This type of policy doesn't exist and will never exist. Those who think it did need to educate themselves about the industry. Your right Prime Minister Harpers leadership approval is soaring. -

You know why right, they're scared that there free ride on the taxpayers dime might stop and they will have to become responsible for themselves instead of relying on society. -

What insurance policy? I would have like to meet the sales from the company that would have offered it, as they would have had a screw loose and would have been fired for underwriting and approving such policy. I don't hold much stock it the polls, but if you insist, just look at the polls on leadership, Mr. Harper is away out in front. -

Funny the west seems to trust them, infact most of Canada does, outside of the urban areas. -

Hardly the same as what the liberals are doing 3 MPs missing a few votes not the same as whole caucuses missing. The budget that you are referring to all but one or two did not show up to vote, but they actually showed up and voted in favour, they didn't walk out en mass. -
Its too bad Boeing didn't have something to compete, because they really do build better aircraft. That why I fly westjet when ever possible, it has all boeing aircraft.

McGuinty to Flaherty: Back Off

You should be happy that the dollar is high otherwise you couldn't afford you heating bill. If our dollar was still trading around .60 US your gas, fuel, and electricity bills would be 40% higher. A stroung dollar isn't such a bad thing, it just means that the manufacturing sector needs to adjust business practices so they can cope. -

Jack Layton doesn't have the power to pass any agenda, but he has been far more successful than the Libs, and has far fewer numbers. As an opposition party the NDP deservers a little credit for actually doing their jobs, unlike those Liberals. Politics isn't about having the power to pass you agenda, its about the art of the possible, and you have create the possible not wait for it to fall in your lap. So you get you message out, you stand behind your principles, and you try to sway support from the general public, by out manoeuvring your competitors. -

What my post was pointing out that the liberals are scared to stand against the government because they know they will not survive an election, they are underminding there support by not voting, they won't even stand up for their principles. Every time Dion draws a line in the sand on an issue, the conservatives cross it, and the liberals back pedel. If they had backbone, they would vote against the conservatives and show their supporters that they do stand for something. But it seens they are quite happy to sit on their hands, sell out their supporters and hope that the CPC will stumble so they can again sit in office and pork barrell. -

The CPC voted against the liberals everytime they differed in opinion in the last minority. The NDP and the Block have voted against the current government in every confidence motion in the last 1o months, even though their polling numbers have either stagmated or stopped. Right now the liberals are the only ones who have shown that they stand for nothing. -

I would love to see you prove this! As far as I know the Liberals are the only party that have been caught doing that. (adscam) So provinces can't be trusted. What makes those in a central government so elite? How can some bureaucrat who has never left Ottawa know anything about what is good for any other province? -

Its not that I don't get it, it is that I don't want it. I and my provincial government are prefectly able to set our own standards we don't need the East to tell us how to do it. We will run our province the way we want to, we don't need the intervention, becuase the citizen of each province knows what is best for there procinve and have to live by the decision. Those in Ottawa don't. -

Why won't they be of a provincial priority. I don't need some putz in Ottawa to make decisions about what they think is good for my province, I can make that decision and elect reps to my provincial government to put them in action, we don't need intervention from some busy body who lives on the opposite side of the continent. I want the people with in the countries to live within the means of the province, and every province has the resource to be a have province, but they they need to stop looking at what the neighbour is doing and fix their own problems. Quit playing the victim and whining, the provinces need to take responsibilty for themselves, and fix their situations instead of beging for someone else to do it. -

Don't try to redirect, why do we need to waste resources for two levels of govenment on the same file? -

So tell me why we need two levels? Why aren't the provincial standards good enough, or is Ottawa the only truely enlightend place in this country that knows what is best for all the provinces. We are wasting resouces through duplication of efforts, this is the true trudeau legacy.
