  1. Canada should only be producing as much as we need - to wean ourselves off it without going broke in the process of transitioning to alternatives. It killed the carbon tax...it's caved to right-wing whining. Every government in Canada should be hostile to fossil fuels especially in the face of climate change. Yes it should. But as you people like to point out he's also invested in oil so he's a typical right-wing hypocrite from where I'm sitting. Like I said, we're a generation too late. We should have hired Norway when we had the chance. That said, I bet they could make us a bundle managing our nuclear resources for us. More by poor planning I think let's face it, Canada is kind of like an epitome of the Peter Principle.
  2. You're a lying sack of shit lady. Google lens says... While the specific geographic location is not definitively recorded in public archives, this photograph is widely recognized as a staged, humorous, or "ironic" vintage photo. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/218987600619865930/
  3. Why? Why should Canada be stuck paying such a high price for something we have in such abundance? Is Alberta being bombed back into the stone age too?
  4. You reverse everything people talk about. Not anymore. It's on producers - it should still be on both. What channel? We're still on the topic of who owns Canada's resources and who should determine how they're used. We had the choice to be Norway who made a shit whack more off a fraction of the resources we have. Your kind of thinking led to where we are now - a generation too late and about $500 billion too short. I'm laughing.
  5. What's also going on in Canada is that millions of people have decided to be as ungovernable as possible. Our governments have shit to work with and the results are becoming more obvious.
  6. $10 says this is just a stupid meme you pulled out of your butt.
  7. Sure, they just haven't paid enough is all and in the case of oil and gas companies they've been subsidized up the wazoo. More to the point we've screwed ourselves up the wazoo by subscribing to the sort of sycophantic thinking you put into your defence of our poor hard done by corporations. Sure, but rules still make you seeth.
  8. I said it was about you and your abject hatred towards being told how to behave yourself - the intent of very single rule and regulation on the books, including traffic lights.
  9. They didn't build that freedom, we did. In that case both Alberta and Ottawa should be helping Canada to a big chunk of the war profiteering our resource is generating. Most of which should be plowed into developing alternatives and making us more independent of world market dictates for energy. It's ridiculous that any energy super power should be held hostage to America's vandalism on the other side of the world. I know, it's ridiculous how beholden we are to others. Apparently your toaster knows you better than your mirror.
  10. No it's definitely Canada...and it has a lot more to do with being a Confederation of provinces who act more like seperate countries. We're more like the EU. Progressiveness is just a natural governing ideology most of us happen to share. You people just need to learn to not take that so personally.
  11. No, I've made it perfectly clear it's about you.
  12. Not even close. Sure, because we give them the opportunity. We set the terms we allow our resources will be utilized including the royalties and taxes. Do you have any idea who actually owns Canada's resources?
  13. No it's about the weird way you think about things, in this case rules. Going back to nature where it's everyone for themselves appears to be the state you'd like to live in.
  14. Nope. Nope, you just can't help but be a dingbat about things is all.
  15. Does it make you seeth to be stopped at a red light when there's no cross traffic in sight?
  16. I've certainly got no use for the stupid thing. Meanwhile it's entirely accurate to point out how often you people have admired China's HSR for the same basic reason Trudeau admired China's ability to get things done. You're jealous.
  17. I realize it's the best you can come up with but this... ...is not an accurate answer to... Is the monstrous amount of money in your estimation even bigger than the bonanza windfall profits oil and gas companies are realizing as a result of the war in Iran?
  18. China's high speed rail system isn't either. Imagine how hard you'd be whining if it was. That said as Chinese commuters make more use of HSR their conventional system is able to move more freight which is profitable. We should hire China to run our rail systems. Like we should've gotten Norway to manage our oil and gas and Cuba to run our healthcare system. We suck at doing stuff.
  19. Trump is a symptom - Bush and Cheney were just stepping stones along a path towards inevitability America has always been on. You've said yourself repeatedly Trump is just another president giving America what it's always voted for.
  20. "I can outlast her," Carney said, laughing briefly along with Ford and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow. What a bunch of douchbags... Two First Nations chiefs are calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to apologize for saying he could "outlast" a First Nations woman who was protesting over mercury poisoning in her community. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/first-nations-protesters-demand-apology-from-pm-9.7150237
  21. Isn't it to address a right wing grievance that we still don't have one and China does?
  22. No, but probably the stupidest. Dubya certainly isn't looking so bad in hindsight.
