  1. August1991....if you want information about your health I presume you go to the experts - a health practioner. If you want information on poverty I would presume you go to the poverty experts. You are inferring there is no poverty in Canada - it sounds like: "THE BIG FRASER INSTITUTE LIE" to me.
  2. Welfare incomes far below poverty line across Canada Direct result of right wing policies. What a sad society we are developing in Canada since Reform/Alliance/Conservatives have come into existence. These right wingers probably want to emulate the state of Florida, where more money is spent on prisons than on universities.
  3. Man told to speak English to dog I just saw a UNB spokesperson talking about the situation on TV and she was laughing. I don't think M Tessier is laughing about the situation.
  4. Conservatives must look beyond neo-con agenda I kinda agree with Glanville.
  5. Hugo.......if you are going to throw out statistics like that, back them up with URLs so that we can all verify them otherwise we might suspect you made them up, if you get my drift.
  6. N.B. university in dog house after insisting Quebec guide dog learn English Don't ever let schooling interfere with your education!
  7. The House of Commons poorly reflects our society, whether it be in relation to sex, race, income, and/or occupations. It is basically a white, wealthy, male lawyer's club. Perhaps Elections Canada will have the stats.
  8. Another Liberal 'Young Turk' Arrested
  9. Guess what? Most Canadians miss Clinton, but I doubt very much that they miss Reagan.
  10. Moore's Public Service Hawk.....you fit the right winger mold to a T. Never any substance to your comments. Smarten up, eh.
  11. Blair: WMDs may never be found Thank goodness for Jean Chretien. The more news that comes out about the war in Iraq the more difficult it is going to be for Harper to retain credibility with the Canadian public, it seems. (570)
  12. Why Moore's 'Fahrenheit' gets us so hot Is the war on Iraq the beginning of the end for the right in Canada and elsewhere? People who are full of lies and use them to advance their agenda. How sick can you get, eh?
  13. Arar inquiry counsel invites Syria to respond to torture allegations I wonder if this inquiry is going to shake up security procedures in Canada the way the hearings into 9/11 appear to have shaken up national security in the US.
  14. Election by the numbers: NDP Vote change in 2004 from 2000 election: +1,024,092 Percentage difference: +94% Liberal Party Vote change in 2004 from 2000 election: -296,981 Percentage difference: -5.6% Conservative Party Vote change in 2004 from 2000 election (combined PC & Canadian Alliance): - 847,092 Percentage difference: -17.4% I guess we can safely assume Canadians are moving to the left, which augers well for the New Democrats in the next election.
  15. Is the Arar inquiry (being shown live on CPAC by-the-way) showing, more than any other incident taking place in the public domain in Canada, at the present time, the best example of the differences between Canada and the United States?
  16. You want an equal standard of living for everybody. You need a lesson in logic: Statement 1; A government's priority is to redistribute the wealth. Equals: Statement 2; You want an equal standard of living for everybody. This is fallacious bunk. Go back to school and learn something about logic.
  17. Ontario didn't kill Tory chances Interesting analysis of the vote. I wonder what lessons are here for the New Democrats.
  18. A thief's priority is also to redistribute the wealth. So you don't believe in public schools, health care, justice system, pension plans, etc. I'm not sure I would be bragging about those things if I were you.
  19. Insurance rates are based on the element of risk. EI premiums are all the same and therefore do not fall into the insurance category. Is it fair that someone who collects EI every year should be paying the same monthly premium as someone that has paid into the system for 20 years without ever collecting a penny? Therefore EI is nothing but a form of welfare. Government's priority is to redistribute the wealth. I can see the greed factor is alive and well on the right. Isn't this a distortion of what Jesus was all about?
  20. Proctor named Layton's chief of staff Sounds like a solid choice. I wonder who Proctor is replacing.
  21. I'm surprised there has been so little talk about Martin's future. Does he really have one as leader of the Liberals? Liberals have gone from suggesting Martin would obtain 250 seats to a minority government. and Liberals are happy about that. Are they nuts? Isn't it time they threw the bum out?
  22. Now that Mr Harper has gotten over losing the election, and is going to come out of hiding, what will he tell his caucus on Wednesday? What kind of strategy will the Conservatives be using in this new minority government?
  23. Is anyone else getting tired of these unsubstantiated posts?
  24. Does anyone remember the PQ cabinet minister Claude Charron who stole the sports jacket from Eatons. Was he charged? What happened there?
