What do you Think of this Article?

It is written by a doctor who has a vested interest in making a lot of money out of the health care system. He is in a conflict of interest position, and does not understand the meaning of the word "ETHICS". Why waste our time with this tripe? Americans would love to have our Canadian health care system, and may get it when Bill Clinton is appointed US Surgeon General in 2008 . -
So whose fault is that? Certainly not the civil service. It is always easy to bash someone who is defenceless, isn't it? What about Ken Lay? Martha Stewart?

BC is a good example of the complications of the treaty process. Actually First Nations people in BC have claim to a substantial part of the province. It is time for us non-aboriginals to show some respect. -

Too bad so many people vote vote out of fear in this country. When one has to vote out of fear, something is fundamentally wrong with the system. My hunch is that sovereignists were hoping for a Harper victory with no seats in Quebec. Is that accurate? What is Ken Dryden is going to be like as a politician? I wonder what his views on Quebec in confederation are about. -
It's simple really. Research has shown that a very high percentage of the people that frequent these bulletin boards are ANGRY WHITE MEN

Give your respective heads a shake over this from another place: Please just ignore the spoof "Neanderthals" and "civilized places" comments.

Why don't you read "Repair of Taxation" by a guy named Tom Kent (I almost said Clark Kent, but then I could be accused of pushing it), and tell me what you think of his ideas? I am no expert about our taxation system, like so many people here appear to be, but he is, so I curious to know if you think Kent makes sense and has some good suggestions. Repair of Taxation -

Corruption exists everywhere, in every political party, in every religion, in every province. The idea is to minimize it. Look at the CEOs in the business world fighting tooth and nail against some controls over their corruption. -
Those are not opinion polls. Those are actual popular vote election results, and unfortunately, you are living in major denial. Harper has peaked, and has nowhere to go but down now, becasue of everything he had going for him, and everything the Liberals had going against them in the last election. I would imagine the last thing Harper wants is for Canadians to really dissect him, to get to really know what he represents, which is what they will do now. For example why wasn't Harper honest and above board and admit clearly that he supported sending Canadians to fight and die in Iraq just for oil to fuel the economy, eh? As I said previously, I think this W alienation thingie is probably a little enclave around the poli sc dept of the the U of C.

How about a little reality check, eh? Popular Vote Analysis British Columbia Party/2000/2004/Change Lib: 27.7%, 28.6%, up 0.9% Con: 56.7%, 36.2%, down 20.5% New Dem: 11.3%, 26.6%, up 15.3% Not a good omen for you know who!

I suppose that is why Harper failed and was defeated, eh.

From an article in the National Post today. They're probably worried about the so-cons future. Boo! Hoo! But the National Post doesn't have to worry about the so-cons, they have a good future here with the Christian Heritage Party.

Do you think you contribute to Quebeckers wanting to leave Canada with those kind of comments? I think I am beginning to believe in a firewall, but not the way you envisioned it. -
What about Star Wars? If Liberals join with the Conservatives to approve it, won't that be game over for future New Democratic or Bloc support on other issues? If Martin tries to play one opposition party off against the other, I think the opposition parties should defeat the government right away. Might as well get it over with ASAP. And apparently Martin is delaying returning to the House He is adding on an additional month. Don't the opposition parties have a say in that as well? Why the dealy - what afre the Liberals afraid of now? What did Martin say to the GG to allow the Liberals to keep governing? Did he say anything? How come we don't know what went on there? Should not this be public knowledge? And does Martin not have to get documentation in writing from the opposition parties for the GG to allow the Liberals to attempt to try to govern. And if the Liberals are defeated, would not then our governor general have to offer the opportunity to Stephen Harper to attempt to govern? Please enlighten me.

What would happen in ROC if Quebec leaves? What would happen to French in ROC for example? I, for one, would not not want to lose what little presence French has now. I was kinda hoping that with all these French emmersion students in Alberta, and elsewhere, that we are about to see an explosion in the use and presence of French on signs, etc. I mean I can't believe I still hear these kind of comments, but sure enough, even today, on another thread here, some yahoo is complaining about bilingual labeling on his cereal boxes. I find it hard to believe peole like that still exist, but unfortunately there are still a few around. Seriously, what do you do with people like that? -

Charest originally was in Mulroney's cabinet, I believe. It seems like the federalist forces in Quebec are quite weak in the quality of their politicians. But Le Bloc Quebecois with Duceppe is basically a left of centre party, n'est pas? Compared to the Liberals, that is -
That's great news for Albertans, and they are to be congratulated. But what does Harper have to do with Alberta's debt? I thought he was involved in national politics, eh!

That is huge sweeping generalization you are making about how many, is it 160,000 people? And don't forget the 10,000 people that administer 3 hospitals in the Ottawa area. Do we even know whether these issues were political or bureaucratic? What about the whistleblower legislation as well? There used to be at one time something called ministerial responsibility. What has happened to that end of things? It seems that the a little game is played when a minister's department gets into trouble, the minister gets shifted to another department, and then says they cannot comment on their previous department. Excuse me!
