  1. Obviously one of the recipients of Day's e-mail was concerned enough about its inappropriateness to have made it public, and so it should be. And good on that person whoever it was. If one is to be a principled person your private behaviour needs to be in sync with your public positions. In other words walk the talk. We need more honesty in society, not less. We need less secrecy in sociey, not more.
  2. Stripper granted favour, MP says This story has been slowly building, and it now appears about ready to hit the boiling point. I believe the minister, Judy Sgro, should step down until the air has been cleared, otherwise her department is going to have a cloud over it until this matter is resolved.
  3. Arafat kin blames Israel This is going to open up a whole can of worms, so to speak. One would think in a situation like this, an autopsy would have been performed, so that there would be no confusion as to what was the cause of Mr Arafat's death.
  4. Stockwell Day cites Arafat AIDS rumour in email If anyone does die of AIDS, why are not worthy of sending sympathies?
  5. The NDP did quite well considering the above.
  6. The last I saw the Liberals had 18 seats, while the NDP had 4.
  7. Looking good - maybe NDP will double their number of seats in just three years, since 2001.
  8. Let's see what the changes are, at this point, compared to last election in 2001: Popular vote (%): Party/2001/2004*/Change PC/62/46/down 16 Lib/27/29/up 2 NDP/8/12/up 4 All/0/9/---- Grn/?/3/? So far the big winner in terms of increase of popular vote is the NDP. Seats Party/2001/2004*/Change PC/ 74/61/down 7 Lib/7/16/ up 9 NDP/2/4/up 2 All/0/1/---- So far the big winner in terms of increase in seats are the Liberals. *Elected or leading
  9. The cow, whose BSE testing results we are currently waiting for, from the USDA, is from TEXAS with NO LINKS TO CANADA.
  10. If you think Quebec didn't like having its power reduced to one in ten, imagine what they think of Martin's one in thirteen: Article
  11. As I suspected with a little research, it shows that is was a right wing government in France that was in power and responsible for the deaths of those elderly people. To suggest that there are few children in Europe without backing it up with meaningful and accurate statistics is pointless. As usual misleading comments by Canada's elite in their efforts to milk the poor.
  12. As I suspected Linda Mc Quaig's informative article, published in Canada's largest circulation newspaper, is backed up by excellent and accurate reasearch. Speaking of the gap in the US between the rich and the poor I suggest you might want to take a gander for a reality check. The rich-poor gap: If Brazil can address it, US can and should Our naysayers need to publish some research references for their point of view, if they expect to have any credibility here.
  13. Both the price of gold and the Canadian dolla are up again today, consistant with the trends on the charts which we have seen for quite some time now.
  14. Article What a difference when you have a principled investigative journalist at work instead of some writer who shills for the transnationals! And how refreshing to see comparisons made with great programmes for kids, instead of always comparing what Canada does to the bottom of the barrel - the US.
  15. Dollar Is Near Record Low; U.S. Rejects Call to Stem Volatility Will the trend upward in the Canadian dolla continue, up in the price of gold and silver, or will the contrarian point of view take over the markets this abbreviated week? And what about crude oil, it bounced up a bit near the end of last week? Wow, some people are pessimistic about the US dolla's future! US risks a downhill dollar disaster /925
  16. Texas Woman's Death Probed for Mad Cow Tie I wonder what this is all about, eh! /182
  17. I have a better idea. Why not draft the rich who make these decisions to go to war? Anybody who promotes, encourages, or believes in war should go and definitely be place on the front lines. In other words walk the talk.
  18. Libs 40% Cons 25% Ndp 17% Bloc 11% Grn 5% Oth 2% Total 105% I wonder who paid for this survery and decided to have it released to the public tonite, eh!
  19. I think we can all acknowledge that this came from a reliable US source.
  20. What country attacked the United States first on US soil?

  22. If Bush did win the election legitimately, there is one issue that won it for him - "the bin Laden video" played to the US people a few days before the election. Think about it.
  23. It is all economics, it has always been economics, and it always will be about economics, whether it was WW I WW 2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq War 1 or Iraq War 2. All this hocus pocus about religion, culture, whatever, is nonsense. It is just the tools that the rich use to divide the poor. The US depends on certain materials (i.e OIL) to keep their economic engine running, and they will stop at absolutely nothing, that gets their way. I always laugh when I hear Bush talking about wanting to spread democracy. Especially after the circus we have seen in the US during the last two presidential elections. If Bush was so concerned about democracy why doesn't he go after Saudi Arabia, China, etc.? Well we all know the answers to that. Democracy is one of those good word in those good words, bad words marketing strategy schemes. These guys don't believe in democracy, they just know that the rich must stay in power, so they can keep themselves rich. Keep you eye on the planet's oil reserves and you will know where the US is, or is going, next.
  24. Bush in Canada Momentum seems to be building in Canada to protest against US policies, when President Bush comes to Canada (Ottawa) at the end of the month. Will you be joining the other protestors in Ottawa or the protestors in the city in which you live? PM Martin said in Chile this weekend that protests are a good form of democratic expression. Do you agree? Or do you think these protests are useless, a waste of time, and will not impact one iota on the US Administration policies, nor on Canada's policies as well ?
