Nice try guys. But it's tradition that a lame duck president doesn't appoint a Supreme Court justice in the final year.

Since you seem to be interested in the uS constitution, I'll point out that it says presidents "shall" appoint justices, not that they "may" appoint. It is civic duty and is not limited to their first terms.
