Do you understand the meaning of tyranny? I've seen true tyranny with my own eyes, let me assure you, Canada is not a tyrannical country.

I dont believe the intent was to state that a ban is in place or will be in place. I believe that the poster meant to say that big things can develop from small beggining's. In this case it would be an effort to silence anything critical of Islam. As such the implication would be a very serious one that could lead Canada to a situation such as that currently being endured in Europe. I don't know what your thoughts are on the issue. Myself, I'm very disturbed at what I see happening. Unless one actually wanted to be Muslim and live under the laws and cultural influences of Islam then of course one would certainly be disturbed by these elements. I for one do not want Islam being rammed up my ass like it is in Europe. Of course you could argue that this isn't happening, but, in that case you'd be wrong. I just read an article that stated people are leaving European countries in record numbers to avoid Islam and the vocal Muslim crowd who view Europeans as animalistic barbarians to be subjugated or eliminated. Given these circumstances I cant say I blame them for leaving. The fear is that once we start to stifle critiscism it grants certain groups the freedom required to forward an agenda without interference. I personally do believe such an agenda exists and further take offence to any group that tries to stifle honest dissent. Perhaps you believe these people should be permitted or even helped in the advancement of their agenda. If so that is your right, it however is a belief I do not share. Such is my right and any who try to suppress it are not going to receive any form of sympathetic understanding from me.

Sorry Buffy, perhaps I'm just missing it but I haven't noticed anyone going rah rah and salivating over the prospect of more war. I also haven't noticed anyone eagerly anticipating Armageddon either. Could you clarify just who does desire these things for me, from what I've read it appears you believe this to be the case with some MLW posters.

Discussion on this subject has wandered back and forth and now has come down to "where did the radio transmissions come from". In essence it can be boiled down to one indisputable fact. If these boats had pressed an attack it would have been a joke. Three ships, Cruiser, Destroyer and a Frigate. All on high alert. The boats would have lasted approximately 30 seconds or so before becoming seabed litter. As such whoever thought it was a good idea to send them out is positively worthy of a Darwin award.

Good point Rue. I too have been negative about the Caledonia issue. The reason being that Caledonia is a farce, any reasonable person should be able to discern this. The rhetoric we've heard from both sides on this issue has been heated and absolute. I have no doubt that there are good people among the natives in Caledonia, however there are a lot who will lie, resort to violence and take a stance that is indefensible. Many times people have resorted to sheer fabrication in order to defend their point. These tactics do nothing to advance their cause, rather they actually hinder it by painting all with the same brush. Having said that I will state that I do not support the Natives in Caledonia. I find their methods are disingenuous at best and am frankly repulsed by the lies and the lengths they will go to in order to defend them. Not to mention the fact that imported Natives are involved on Canadian soil. They, quite frankly, should either be jailed or sent packing back to the States. I do attempt to be objective about the issue, this objectivity has led me to an opposed stance, I cannot in any way at this point offer any support for this cause. Yes, treaties and land issues should be resolved in an equitable fashion. That is not happening, instead we see a bizarre form of Native extortion being employed. I fail to see how they can expect any support from rational people when they engage in such tactics.

Now, back on topic, since Kengs has just confirmed that myself and all my former and present comrades are nothing more than killers to the bone and evil bad people as well. Thanks for the enlightenment by the way. Any ship has to be aware of small vessels in their vicinity, as the Cole demonstrated so well. In the past small vessels were not regarded as a high priority threat. Since the Cole that has all changed. Now we regard them as one of the most severe threats and take appropriate precautions. I guess the Iranians didn't get that memo though. If it was Iranians of course, in that part of the world it could have been any group out of the numerous ones that like to play bomb follies on a daily basis. Here's something for you to ponder Buffy. If all westerners were to withdraw and hypothetically there was no contact between our cultures, what do you think would happen? We have a 17 year old who is CWB certified and lays down welds that are simply beautifull. We have another 17 year old who can operate any piece of heavy machinery you give him with a precise and delicate touch. This is in a small company of 35-40 people. Don't sound much like the mindless drooling evil youth you constantly spout off about. One thing I admire about them far more than you is that they do an honest days work and pay their taxes. I know, novel concept for you to absorb, you should try it some day, you never know you just might like it.

It's not the dog, it's the owner. Any dog will be vicious if raised that way. Banning Pit Bulls in Ontario was an easy knee jerk reaction to the real problem, bad owners. So as a result these same people have turned to other breeds to fullfill their desire to be big bad mean guys. So what to do? Ban every breed these people turn to? Reduce them to training packs of killer chihuahuas?

I'm sure illiteracy has some sort of contributory factor, I don't think thats the main factor though. I think following teachings that espouse some mythical characters exhortations to spread his word around the globe without compromise actually has a lot more to do with it.

Go to youtube and search Canadians in Afghanistan. You'll find videos of the boys in action. The Red Devils on patrol get ambushed by a numerically superior foe. A firefight ensues. They're outnumbered about ten to one and at the end of the battle the tally stands at 0 Canadian casualties and over a hundred enemy dead. Pretty inferior fighting men eh? You'll see highly disciplined, trained and motivated men laying down devastating fire. Not with some superior weaponry either, small arms, grenades and a single Coyote. You'll find similar videos of British and American troops laying the smack down on the foe. Now how does any of this support your baseless and farcical assertions as to the inferiority of our troops? Yes, it is considered being a traitor. Unfortunately, for reasons that escape me, in this country we have many who will bend over backwards to excuse the behaviour of filth like Khadr, even welcome them. We hear constantly about the poor misguided youth and how it's every one else's fault but theirs.
