political ideologies are religions. think of the basic drivers. you have two politicians who want to be elected. their constituents just want them to consult with them on decisions and represent them when they make those decisions. political parties were never part of what the founding fathers imagined. they are how democracy is controlled by a few. political parties built infrastructure to win elections on branding. the branding is how the politicians differentiate themselves. the social sciences have provided over and over again that given a particular issue that a group of people easily come to a consensus irrespective of political ideology when political ideology is removed from the experiment and that those same people do not come to a consensus when political ideology is included in their deliberations. the people don't get sold representation... they get sold a brand of power. and that brand of power is a fabricated belief system. and fabricated belief systems are the same as religions.
