  1. Maybe he just had a hotdog and he was commenting on the fine work of the mustard maker.
  2. I just wonder what will be more entertaining, Don Cherry or Rex Murphy.
  3. I would think so. I suspect this is some roundabout way to get Quebecers wanting to have a Team Quebec separate from a Team Canada. I hope some french players speak up and say they're voting Conservative next time.
  4. THe Bloc doesn't believe Shane Doan should be captain of Team Canada for something he allegedly said about French players in a game a few years ago. The incident was investigated by the NHL and he was cleared. Now parliament is going to investigate. Way to support our team!
  5. No, it was the media, opposition parties and propaganda.
  6. It would be nice if the media tried to get non-biased reaction from those in the scientific community and not from passion-charged environmentalists. I already know how they are going to respond. No news value there.
  7. Ambrose was an example of Harper governing according to polls, therefore party popularity. If I have to keep explaining everything to you though, you will go on ignore soon. Congrats, one example proves your whole point. Oh, before you ask what I meant by that - it was sarcasm. Actually it is a very good example. Since I prevously mentioned the enviro plan you should edit your comment to say "Congrats, two examples prove your whole point." Then maybe replace the sarcasm comment with "Gee, I learn something every day."
  8. Sorry, not to me. At best, you are just a last name to me. Then again, I am not in your riding. CAVEAT: Permit me to speak aneceditorially. I think Canadians in general are evolving away from taking hierarchy for granted. Part of me wants to think that immigrants are to thank for that. I do not want to believe that Liberals can count on "the ethnic vote" anymore. When somebody looks at a culture of a rich freeloading pre-politician whose father was a rich politician [Trudeau is not the only one] and so on and so on, I want to believe that more and more Canadians -- new and old -- will look to that with disdain instead of reverence. I also want to believe they will look to that as something they wanted to escape. Most people I know hate the guy who jumped the queue and got the job only because his uncle owns the company. Martin was the worst example. No one has taken advantage of his rightful position or profited by it as much as he did.
  9. Reread my post. S-L-O-W-L-Y. Here's what your post says. Please read it S-L-O-W-L-Y: "For the record, I agree with ALL of Dion's policies like you agree with all of Harper's." If that is what you meant, please read the post I wrote previous to that, S-L-O-W-L-Y. I stated I don't always agree with Harper. Explain the the Ambrose comment? And do you think the courting of Emerson was good for his party's popularity or his own popularity within the country?
  10. Funny how I pick a number of decisions from Harper to show "lack of judgement and common sense" and you completely avoid commenting on them, yet you expect me to do the same about some of Dion's less-than-favourable policies. The decision not to lower the flag was consistent with military protocal and Canadian tradition. It used to be only lowered on Nov 11 to respect soldiers and when certain military and government officials were killed. Chretien broke with tradition in 2002 when he lowered it for the four Canadian soldiers who got killed by an American pilot. It has nothing to do with Harper being American-like. It's the Canadian military way. You'll have to explain your Rona Ambrose comment. I think you meant to say you don't agree with everything Dion does, like I don't with Harper. Right?
  11. You've got to be kidding me. You can say that with a straight face after the Ambrose fiasco? I Disagree again. I share many of his values, so for me he does not lack judgement and common sense. Lack of common sense, to me, is not accepting the science behind global-warming unless absolutely having no other choice but to do so. Lacking judgement is deciding to stop lowering the flag for fallen soldiers as though we are Americans who are experiencing casualties on a weekly, if not daily, basis. I could go on, but the point is that "lacking judgment and common sense" are very subjective qualities in a politician. Saying you share his values, so therefore he does not lack judgement and common sense, doesn't make any sense. Few things have been politicized as much as global warming. If you're opposed to Kyoto, you are condemned to being against the environment. In reality even for the most pro-enviro lovers, Kyoto is an objective, not a solution. Should Canada signed on in the first place? No. Given Canada's resource-based economy and low population, signing on to it, expecially with no intention to meet targets as admitted by Eddie Greenberg, was beyond irresponsible. As for the 'science' behind kyoto, it's very debatable and should be debated as all scientific claims should be. There's no need to fall of the edge of a flat Earth, if the Earth is really round. As far as Dion, would you say his comment on bringing Taliban prisoners over to Canada is an example of sound judgement? Or how about his insistence on meeting kyoto commitments on time no matter the cost to Canada?
  12. Eddie Greenberg admitted in February that Chretien never had any intention on meeting the Kyoto targets. That is fraud. Gore should be asked what does more for the environment: The Conservative plan or Kyoto.
  13. [ Harper put down attempts to reduce emissions as being a job killer. It doesn't have to be that way. The only way it isn't going to be that way is if corporations decide to become altruistic and not concerned about maximizing profits.
  14. quote] Does that make masturbation a disorder?
  15. David Suzuki can kiss my hairy, yellow butt.
  16. Gere must have heard India thought he was gay.
  17. [ Yes, we need more unemployment.
  18. I think its safe to say David has more life experience about the environment that the whole caucus of the Cons! What does 'life experience' have to do with it? (hint: nothing)
  19. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Dion, except maybe his English. Even that I think isn't so bad. The guy is just too nice for politics. He was at 40% approval rating after the convention and he didn't do anything after Harper attacked him in those ads. He's an idealist who think great integrity and ideology is enough to win in politics, but he's up against a political shark. If he toughens up a bit he still has a good chance of winning. Too nice or too weak? He once said Kyoto targets couldn't be met, now they have to be, no matter the cost. Is he towing the party line for the good of the party? If he is, he is fulfilling his role as leader of the Liberal Party. The difference between him and "the shark" is that Harper's actions are not driven by party popularity. I don't always agree with him either, but he will put the country before the popularity of his party or self. This is called leadership. Dion also lacks judgement and common sense which are both crucial to being an effective leader. Nice guy, maybe. He's just been promoted to his level of incompetence. That's all.
  20. Back to the original post, this is just another example of the dishonesty around the global warming issue. Others include the passing the original paper of as authored by over 1,000, when it was authored by, if I recall exactly, 12; and Gore misrepresenting charts (800 year lag) to persuade the masses. If you catch a used car salesman lying to you, and you buy the car anyway, you're a fool.
  21. I think it would be nice to see every Canadian who doesn't believe in Kyoto to write Suzuki a letter, using paper.
  22. Good post.
  23. It's really a shame Harper didn't get a majority last election. We'd have another $8 billion to spend on health care.
  24. Will the govenment be launching a civil suit?
  25. You see, this is the problem with those who think they've solved all of their problems when they reject their parents faith and or church. They think they can answer the enigma of religion and God for ALL of mankind, all based on their singular experience. Like I said, get some time in kid. I think you just proved his point again with that answer.
