And it gets the Cons defending or advocating (take your pick) on the need (or lack thereof) for Private Corporately driven prisons. I guess the idea is the Tax Payer Funded Private Prisons will get a tax break. Meanwhile the LPC can lay blame at the Process of 30Billion dollar planes. I Think they are smart this time around. First time for everything. And when your government campaigned on integrity and accountability and has been secretive and conspiring, its hard to have any sympathy for this government. We have seen alot of firsts by this government. None of them have been positive. Most of the firsts of this government have undermined the democratic process. I'd say the Conservatives have been asking for it, and now that its coming, they don't enjoy not being able to bring the government down on their own terms. Regardless, expect a strong campaign from the money soaked Conservatives. Fact is they have so much money, I dunno why they choose to steal from the public purse.

Saipan is a broken record. Conservatives are allowed to lie, cheat and steal, jerry righ books and engage in blatant Patronage Appointments. Undermining Democracy and crapping on the public while running up the deficit to unheard of figures. Its a record deficit brought to us by fiscal incompetents. But we are to believe they are good money managers and conservative corruption must be ignored, because... "The Liberals".

I have no idea if the Public will award the CPC more seats because of their scandals. Right now, it looks like its 6 t0 12 seats either way. Campaigns take on a life of their own. I don't know why the Prime Minister surrounded himself with such sleazy people. I watch as reformists eat crow.

The Libyan civil war propoganda machines on both sides cannot be trusted. Many stories start iwth "Unconfirmed Reports and Unconfirmed sources" stating "unconfirmed facts" as facts... As soon as its confirmed, it goes from Rumour to fact.

Its a Civil war set on an East West narrative. The people of Benghazi will be protected from retribution, but its unlikely they will be able to regain access to the oilfields that the had occupied earlier. The other Arab countries currently in revolt are shooting and killing the protestors (who are not armed, unlike the Libyan rebel forces) and these other rebellions are likely to be crushed with government security forces. After China cracked down on Freedom and Democracy, it became the country of choice for investment. If you take up arms against a government that group is normally labelled a terrorist organization. This will not be the case with regards to Libya. Perhaps Ghadafis greatest mistake was trusting George Bush and reestablishing relations with the US. It must have made him feel like a credible force in the Arab world. Ghadafy will go, but I don't believe we will have any net effect in a civil war other then to orchestrate a stalemate.

There are more CPC/Harper threads right now , because the Government has a number of scandals front and centre. Alot of bad government, poor spending habits, lack of accountability and a disdain for parliment. I haven't seen many anti liberl thread except those created by the Usual suspects, like Mr. Canda and Saipan and they have no traction, because they are grabbing for straws. Other then that, any discussions of the CPC misadventures are guarranteed to bring out the CPC apologists and the "But the Liberals" whine/cheese and violin defence. However, I have no idea what GWhiz is trying to say.
