Redford sounds like a wornout Conservative campaigning for a worn out conservative party.

I guess thats true if you only look at pictures of a fire to get warm.... ... her facial expressions and squinty/blinking eyes stood out more then her natural looks.....

Well I guess you just blew your own thread all to crap... read the polling information below on the one your started this thread with.... The PC's are up two points from 35 percent, while the NDP has surged by seven from 23 percent last fall. The Greens increased their support by three percentage points. The telephone poll of 500 Ontario adults was conducted April 10-13.... the margin of error for a sample this size is plus or minus 4.5 percentage points at 95 times out of 100. While I agree in the last 3 rounds of polling Nanos is odd man out..they did poll 501 people I certainly wouldn't risk an election with numbers in any of these polls.. It tells me the electorate is taking a holiday from elections. IF one comes.. it just can't be the "protest" vote that Hudak is looking for, nor can it be driven by insider PC partisans who want an election now... so that they can turf Hudak and go for Elliot.

Misleading thread title These polls show the PCs in a Minority Situation, and not any closer to A majority then in any time in the Previous polls. Perhaps the most startling part of these polls in in the outcomes... The New Democrats, meanwhile, lead in northwestern Ontario with 57% (+14), northern Ontario with 40% (+9), northeastern Ontario with 37% (+8), and the 905 Area Code with 35% (+3). It is a very close three-way race. The PCs lead in eastern Ontario with 43% (unchanged) and southwestern Ontario with 37% (+2), and are tied for the lead in the GTA with 32% (+1). The Liberals are ahead in the 416 Area Code with 37% (-7) and are tied for first with 32% (-4) in the GTA. What we really see is a 3 way race. The NDP have surged up 8 points in total. The PCs are status Quo. The Libs have fallen. And when one looks at the Leadership Ratings... Hudaks approval is only 24% compared to Horwaths 46%. If the NDP only looked at polling numbers and trends...they should go for it... 60% don't want an election 6 months after the last one.

Kenney says you can't get EI if you turndown work.

LMAO The Cons want it both ways.... I heard Kenney talk about kids and jobs and higher unemployment (ironically few teenagers pay into EI and collect) and yet here is what happens when we have poor government choices. April 2, 2012 Federal government cuts student employment centres -

Other then your Ignorant comment regarding Lazy people on EI... I agree that those premiums should have been reduced or the monies retained for EI. The Conservatives BLEW the EI fund BEFORE the Economic Downturn. The Conservatives are fiddling. -
Two of Canada's federal prisons, including the maximum security Kingston Penitentiary, will be permanently closed, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews announced Thursday. Built in 1835, Kingston Penitentiary is one of the oldest prisons in continuous use in the world. Located in Kingston, Ont., the facility has four units that can accommodate 421 inmates, but currently houses 346. EI was Abused to the tune of $56Billion. $8 Billion diverted by the Conservatives.. $48 Billion by the Liberals. Now its going to be abused again ... used as a tactic to mask over the Hundreds of thousands of Asian workers Harper wants to bring into the west and bring in more Temp Agencies with them. -
Following this election has been one of the more interesting Provincial Elections. From an outsiders perspective.. it looks like the Conservatives need to get tossed. Redford appeared more competent then Smith, but I got very tired of listening to a bunch of excuses. I also can't see alot of air between the PCs and the WR with regards to policy or potential candidates. If the PCs have allowed a guy like Morton to be front and centre....whats the difference. You have far right wing party pretending its further to the right of the other and another far right wing party pretending its to the left of the other. But really one is tired and its time has come and the other is new, going to have alot of rookies and should be able to provide ample entertainment to keep the media buzzing. It could be better then electing Rob Ford, but I don't think it will be as looney as Sarah Palin. I find the PC campaign very sad. I hope they take a beating, I don't believe a word I have read from them. Their campaign, platform and policies go against what they have been doing and intend to do. I think the only thing that PCs are upset about.. is that the WR is going to be enacting the same policies and take the credit. Regardless it would appear both Parties are going to struggle as a government, and one is no longer focused and the other would rather divert focus on social conservative issues. My other observation is watching the Liberals. I wouldn't be surprised if they are wiped off the map. Sherman has been a poor leader and I have to wonder what the Liberals were thinking. I see a party that means nothing and is pretending to be more to the left of the NDP, but the question is "Why" when there is little to gain from such a position and lots to lose.. including all their seats. The NDP has been solid to a certain degree. Mason taking a small party with a negative image and is often referred to with disdain and as a joke, yet they do not look like the 3 Ring Circus that Smith provides with the WR. This election is going to be about change. I believe the next election will be about challenging the government to be better. I believe that Albertans will get the government they deserve. For better or for worse

This doesn't make them look any better.. infact it makes them look worse.

Smokescreen. The Conservatives want to bring in Hundreds of thousands of Asian workers into alberta use Foreign Temp Agencies. This is Kennys Mandate. If I want a Conservative to misrepresent EI and how it works.. we always have Diane Finley.. she never has a clue. -
Watching the Leaders Forum on CBC NOW!!! Tune in... First Impressions...(I have never heard them speak before) Vocal Tone: Not content or posture Redford Suprised me.. sounds better then I expected. Smith: And this surprised me too.. There is something in her voice that is nauseating Mason: Surprised again...sounds better then expected. Sherman: Not suprised.. sounds exactly as expected.

excellent analysis

Erm no its not.. it is always and will always be the 3rd rail... and voters are polarized.. it is not something that comes and goes with popularity. However.. people can fool themselves that they can win this in court.... I am sure Alberta has money to burn for such a challenge.

Doak is real nutcase... Ethnic Cleansing... By James Doak I recently labelled the Ontario NDP’s choice of taxing the rich as ethnic cleansing http://opinion.financialpost.com/2012/04/18/visgoths-versus-bay-street/

Forum Poll PC 37 NDP 30 Lib 27 New from Environics, conducted April 10-13: PC: 37% (+2 from election) NDP: 30% (+7) LIB: 27% (-1) GRN: 6% (+3)

I guess the WR intends to fight this in court Because they are funded, I think WR will have an even tougher time then Manitoba which until 2004 didn't fund abortions.. Until 2004, Manitoba did not fund private abortion clinics. However, in July 2004 the province's only private abortion clinic was purchased by a non-profit organization, which then successfully sued the provincial government to pay for abortion procedures there

I like this. February the Conservatives launched their own internal investigation, led by Toronto lawyer Arthur Hamilton April Arthur Hamilton told CBC News that he is not conducting an investigation and has not conducted an investigation into the calls...

Credit Unions recruiting small businesses
madmax replied to jacee's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
My Bad.. I was trying to recall exactly what happened in what was essentially a takeover of a credit union.. All the board of directors in a short period of time were replaced by directors from one of the banks. IIRC they started changing everything on how the credit union operated with regards to service... including the wages to the staff and after around 1 year or so of this the members were pulling out there moneys... IIRC this tactic was successful in reducing the number of branches of the said credit union. I recall some members withdrawing 500,000 and the credit union not even batting an eye. I don't even think the chain of these credit unions exist anymore. And yes I do know of many Credit Unions that had to silently close their doors... as these things are always handled very very quietly. I have only been a member of one credit union in the past. I was a member for about 8 years, and it was still running a profit when it was shut down. Weekly loans were the most prolific, then the loans for Vehicles (cars/boats/motorcycles and trips). Not much on business loans...as i remember it. -
Hmm, comparing his words and actions to pinnochio. Doesn't look good for Ford
