I thought that was clear enough for you to know.. the Liberals Put forth the Motion pulling down the government... and they LOST the election.... of 2011, I think that is pretty clear to anyone. I have no idea what you are speaking about regarding your last sentence? Perhaps I have written something unclear in that post and if so point it out.... its possible, its early and its a long post. If it is the run on sentence regarding the 2008 election... Harper pulls plug for Majority, Doesn't get it, ends up with similar status quo... that is how you win and lose and election. The purpose was to pull the plug on your own government to obtain a majority against a very weak weak liberal. Otherwise its a waste of $300 million..

Interesting, you are ok with Bernier... I think Chris Alexander is there to stay. He was a lightening rod before he was elected, but I am not aware of incompetence. I forgot about my favourite MP in Vaughn..... Julian Fantino... A very controversial and self absorbed dud.

I have read your other posts.. have at her...but I believe you answered this in the Federal thread you posted... !!! -
I would say Pro Migrant, Pro temp work. Pro Temp Agency.

Kenny and Raitt might be a B+ and a B- but their is an entire Cabinet to look at and its surprising how weak they perform. Particular failures.. are TOEWS, ODA, McKay, Reise (SP) who would make Bernier look competent. And Flaherty, I might move him from a D- to a C-

I think you are correct if we have to take a sample today. I am waiting to see more of what Mulcair is doing.. I gotta say, he looks and sounds alot stronger and more confident then Harper watching the clips from yesterday. I think this is Mulcairs to win or lose when it comes to a vision and direction. We will have to wait and see.

Actually, thats not quite accurate. Prior to you voting Conservative.... the Conservatives had wiped out the Budget Surplus, exhausted the Employment Insurance Surplus, giving away the last 8 Billion in 2 short years.... then called an unnecessary election in 2008 upon which they had never lost a single vote in parliment, were never once opposed by the Liberals and the liberal never asked for anything in return for their support. This was not good enough for Harper.. he decided to call an election breaking his own elections promise that was enacted. His government was not brought down...He tore it down.. Shortly after shrewdly winning that election, yet losing at the same time, can't believe Dion did as well as he did, and wasting another $300 million on an election... he decided to govern like Joe Clark. Moving forward with a non economic agenda, a Tax Cut and Spend agenda, along with some pet Conservative Projects, including stuffing the Senate full of party hacks. The Coalition threaten to Govern, which is not to "pull the government down", but to govern with the majority of seats, something the CPC failed to have and choose "at that time" to work with no one and hope someone bent over. It was the internal coup to replace Dion that saved Harpers bacon. Ignatieff put the CPC on "Probation" which means ... SFA... as he supported the direction of the Harper government and his only concern was that HE wanted to be Prime Minister and thats about all. The first time Harper had to actually put money into a program was when Ignatief, Sick of the NDP always voting no.. wanted to box the NDP in and force an Election on his terms. Not expecting the NDP to vote yes to anything, they were shocked to see that Harper met with Layton and Put back $300 million per yer into the EI fund over 3 years.... that the Conservatives had previously put towards corporate tax cuts. This is seriously a drop in the bucket to what was diverted from the payments of Employers and Employees. Ignatieff then went back to supporting the government carte blanche. Any decisions Harper Made.. Harper Made.... with a take it or leave it attitude and ironically it was the Liberals charging that Harper was spending money like a drunken sailor, while running up the deficit to record levels. But Afraid to lose an election the LPC continued to support the CPC. When Iggy decided to pull the plug.... Harper had actually went on a spending spree of sorts, "on Paper" to entice back NFLD and Quebec for votes and weaken the LPC. Thinking that the NDP would support the budget, they believed the NDP wouldn't vote non confidence on the contempt motion. The alternative was that the CPC could campaign on a pork budget if the government was defeated. The government went down on contempt... because.. well because it was in contempt. You don't have to bring a government down over this... infact... for those who choose this motion, they merely figured the time was good... a bad decision in hindsight for the LPC. While the Conservative supporters like to believe that the deficit is someone elses problem.. the fact is.. it is not.. it is the Conservative Government who blew the surplus early on and decided to cut taxes and increase spending.... You can look through these threads... back a few years... and you will see that it is many Western Conservatives that were questioning the fiscal abilities of Flaherty.

Hello Fletch 27 This is the polling thread... we post polls in it. Post any polls you find regarding the federal sphere of government. While you may disagree with the messenger.. the source "FORUM" is the same source that said , roughly a week or 2 ago that Rob Ford would coast to victory in Toronto if an election were held today. So.. while we all have opinions about polls...I could have made a thread marking the FIRST TIME the NDP has lead in a Federal Poll in 24 years...

Also today NDP leading CPC NDP 36 CPC 33 Lib 22 http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1168871--forum-research-poll-puts-ndp-ahead-of-the-conservatives

The lawyer was asking what everyone wanted for lunch. It wasn't an investigation.

i know i just got slapped for starting a thread on a topic that already exists.. but i am going to suggest that we already a practice of posting polls in a polling thread. THere can be 3 or 4 polls released in a week and a thread for each one is silly. I do see that you created a MLW poll as well.... just saying..

Conservative MP brings abortion back into the spotlight
madmax replied to madmax's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes we did.. and all the angles where discusssed, debated and we are where we are. None of the arguments today are new to me. I did start as pro life and it was over a decade of debates that changed my opinion. One thing I did learn... leave it to the women to decide. Past girlfriends have expressed both sides and I respect their view. The law does not hinder a woman who wants to bring her child to term. The law protects a women reproductive rights. -

Conservative Cabinet Minister Bev Oda Countdown

The Maple Leaf Pundits are victorious again. 9 picked Oda to pay for the limo when XXXX WOULD FREEZE. Mision is accomplished. 9 Votes for repayment wins. And it sure is cold down here... -
Conservative Cabinet Minister Bev Oda Countdown
madmax replied to madmax's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I believe so.. Anders managed a few weeks before getting demoted from committee... it might take a little longer for a Cabinet Minister. Considering the File... its ironic that this piece of work would have been considered for the portfolio. I couldn't find a better example of "Let them Eat Cake" since Guergis.. and at least she rolled around with Rick Mercer for a laugh... Without starting a new thread... Who is capable of replacing her... Considering the poor performance of many Conservative Cabinet Ministers, either the bench strength is thin... or... there are some bright MPs being overlooked for positions. Who's out there... toss out some decent names... -
Here we go again. Surprised no one else started a thread or if they did... my apologies and delete this one. So... the Conservatives want to know "When Life begins" I found this in the comments section.. ----------------------------- If it follows the pattern of the F35 purchase.. 1. It will start with life beginning at 3 years. 2. After an election, that will get refined to birth. 3. After a few senators get appointed, it will be moved to when the baby kicks. 4. The auditor general will determine that your life actually started when your parents met. 5. We'll get stuck with a bill that included your parents' upbringing. ---------------------------------

I was wondering the same...

Socialists think government funds come from heaven
madmax replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Good Pay? Benefits? Pension? Erm.. no. Sounds like a hard life ... a young person has to work in an environment with some recourse, all because of a union.. I like this real life story. Employee donates kidney to Boss... and is fired for not being at work after 9 weeks off... Ok... try a real life experience as a temp agency worker... hand over 50% of your pay to be pimped. -

UK wants what is left of ONT manufactoring
madmax replied to PIK's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Yes have very little to do with manufacturing decision to relocate.. often never in the equation as the defining reason in the decision. The uncertainty is for certain.. No confidence.. cause McGuinty has no understanding, interest or knowledge... Reminds me of Mulroney. I should add Harper into the fold... he loves an industrial photo op but has no idea what he is doing there.... Electro-motive = 1 of many... -
UK wants what is left of ONT manufactoring
madmax replied to PIK's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I doubt the UK can recover... Thatcher pretty much destroyed UK manufacturing single handed... but Blair continued with the same mantra.... The UK is offering nothing new... They haven't been able to grow under this model in decades of trying...The Conservative is offering the same old same old.. Not sure whats left of the UK skilled workforce.. -
You are the first I have heard to say this... You are not the first to say this.. You should be concerned...its McGuinty after all..
