  1. You don't have to be elected to become a Cabinet Minister in the Harper Government. I would be curious to know if she has a conservative membership card. She claims she was asked to be a Candidate. But Harper could appoint her to the Senate and give her the position. The CPC government likes to be accountable. That's why they appointed the last CPC bagman in Quebec.
  2. She still knows them. that's because the documents were left at her house. You have a crystal ball? You have a background in Biker Activity? And who is No One? Seems this little story, with something for everyone isn't going to die quietly quickly. But, if you are correct, and there is nothing more then an incompetent Cabinet Minister to the story, then this will not affect the electoral possibilities of the CPC. But if they think they can judge the future based upon the past, then they better look at.... Mulroney and Chretian and determine if they want Harper viewed in the same vein or just Bernier. Do they want to look forthcoming and competent or defensive and in denial.
  3. Start a thread unrelated to Bernier then. See how topical it is. This thread is about the actions of the departed Mr. Bernier. You can defend them or deny them. You can investigate them or ignore them. You can use the RCMP or the Political Hacks. But if you got Nothin..... Change the topic.
  4. Yes I can, and I am not going to. It takes seconds to check this stuff out with google. You only have to know what you are looking for. Anyone knowing the Mulroney Era knows that it was brimming with corruption. People defending the Mulroney era on this issue are fools. But really what they don't want to talk about is Bernier
  5. The Mafia connection was mentioned before but was pooh poohed. Now tying this connection to the recent.... hmmm, lets see what happens to be near Coulliard and people she knows.... Seems they die Really just a coincidence. I can't see the RCMP or the government overlooking a person who is "Known to Police" who starts dating or Choose ONE 1)associating,2) business transaction 3)travelling companion a Conservative Cabinet Minister. There is only one group that wants to look the other way.
  6. Exactly, and you start making something that sell.
  7. You mean the government and those involved in the file, the misplacement of the file, and the controversial associations to Organized Crime? Then yes. That is a good thing. You could be right to make that assumption. But Canadians will care, if it comes out that the Outlaw bikers were making inroads into government portfolios, and more so if it is shown that the government acted dismissively...... then all bets are off.
  8. A manufacturing plant can retool for anything in any location. The timing of the retooling is based upon market demand, production planning often done 5 years or more in advance. The conditions of what product will be produce and where will be dependant upon market access, trade deals, and consumer demand. It is not like changing markets haven't happened before. THe Japanese also following market demand created some of the largest trucks on the dealer lots. Japanese trucks used to be those little things, right up to about 12 or 13 years ago. Hybrid cars are not selling that well, but that is a good market to be ready to address, as their is a general movement amongst the consumer to entertain such a purchase. But none of this is neither here nor there with regards to a Auto Manufacturers Plant Locations.
  9. By using government money, they have been able to use this extra cash to relocate to offshore locations which are not affected by the rising dollar because their currency is tied to the US dollar. Also, product dumping and government "incentives" are superior. Quality is driven by consumer demand, competition and the (oh I hate to say this) insurance companies. (I will give them one star for this) Your opinion is not incorrect but marginal. The fact is moving will increase profits, and locate themselves in a growing market in a growing country. It has little to do with the "improved quality/value" aspect. This is as much to do with consumer marketing as many parts are received from the same suppliers be them offshore or in North America. The difference at many operations is that you can get finished goods shipped from offshore, cheaper then you can buy the raw materials. THis is the value added. However, with regards to quality, it was not unusual to toss out entire orders of dies etc, because they were garbage, inproperly heat treated (if heat treated at all) poor processing procedures, and simple trickery. But companies are willing to reorder because the batches, junk and all can still be had at less cost per item. Often this overlooks shutting down entire production runs, which offshore companies are rarely held liable, unlike in North America where fines of 6 and 7 digits are often the norm for poor workmanship or missing a JIT run.
  10. People are already working for these companies. Toyota is Staying in Ontario only for the access to the North American Market and the current labour skills and support network of suppliers with a skilled labour force. GM is moving most operations to China to take advantage of the Chinese Currency (Which is fixed) and the skilled labour market there, along with the growing skilled Labour force within the suppliers. Your answer is quaint.
  11. The Hells Angels has a strong presence in Denmark. Perhaps he should make Julie the Ambassador.
  12. I think he is a blowhard. I don't think he is an economist. And yes even a blowhard can recite an economic prediction. Because he is from Ontario, if you read the posts of CPC posters. Not sure if these reasons are more childish then mine.
  13. Well, here is just one Cabinet Minister... but I bet you get the drift from the headline. 3 Base hit coming. You must be young, or didn't pay attention when Mulroney was in Power. You should learn from Harper. Cut your ties to defending Mulroney and RUN AWAY!!!! FAST!!! Now.... What if Bernier is tied to influence peddling of Outlaw Bikers?
  14. I am pretty certain that Alberta has alot of Dead Wood CPC MPs. IIRC Stockwell Day was a lightweight Conservative. Had something to do with finance too in Alberta. Flaherty isn't a Liberal by any means. He is a very right wing Conservative. And he is not very bright. He puts ideology first. And his biggest gaffes, have the support of the Prime Minister. A finance Minister and Prime Minister share their own poop. That is not to suggest their aren't capable bright MPs from Alberta not in Cabinet. But to flag Flaherty off as a Liberal is absurd and shows your ignorance of the Minister of Finance.
  15. Harper is going for an "internal" probe. I wonder what they will find? What are the parameters of the investigation. Will they check out her house? Her Friends? Her background? Will they ask why she was a "Paid for Girlfriend/spouse" paid by Bernier? A one year deal? What was in the contract? Free Travel, Documents, security information, Contracts etc. Or Will it simply look into his incompetent actions alone. Simple view him as a lonely guy with not up to the job. http://canadianpress.google.com/article/AL...goZOwxh6zRlqYnQ
  16. I find this very hard to agree with. The US is having a financial and housing crises nationwide. They have a manufacturing base in the Northern States bleeding jobs on the same rate as Ontario. It is often the same companies relocating the work, they aren't going under. Manufacturing is 12% across Canada and 16% in Ontario, and yes it is bleeding badly, in all facits, although people often mistake Manufacturing to be "auto". That is a bad mistake. The Omens aren't good for Ontario or for many manufacturers, but for the trickle down effect to happen, and people to actually become concerned is still years away. The other sectors are strong, this is a fact, and this is creating the illlusion that all is well. It is not. The sector needs to have a plan based upon Retention. So, while things aren't looking great in Ontario/Quebec regarding manufacturing, the chances of us hitting a recession before the US is unlikely. Previous history indicates that Canada has hit the recession first. I don't see it this time, because things are so bleak in the US. But that is just my opinion.
  17. She was supposed to now be a real estate agent, but the company she listed with couldn't remember any sales. Neighbours noted a parade of expensive import cars in front of her house. The Government must address her associations. You are expected to be a naive citizen or A bleeding heart.
  18. Harper Chretian Martin Mulroney Campbell Trudeau and Clark.
  19. You asked for the poll in a different thread. I put the poll where it belongs. My editing error raised the expectations of the CPC more then deserved. It has been fixed. I don't normally follow Quebec polls, be it Nanos or Crop.
  20. Yes, You are correct.
  21. No! This isn't about subsidising Tobacco farmers. It was the CPC MP who is to blame for her misleading statements. See Dianne Finley Thread. The farmers have been led down the garden path by the Conservatives. It is Conservatives who were the first to bring in the ban on smoking in Cars. It is Conservative MPs and MPPs in the tobbacco ridings. It is Conservatives in Power federally. Keep Trying.
  22. Why are we paying for her on the Taxpayers TAB?
