I have been following a story in Alberta (Fort McMurray) where the Electrician and the Engineer where making $2.47/ Hour. I have stated in the past that you can get an engineer in China for $300 a month. So getting between $400 and $600 month may seem like a good deal. With the deaths of these two Gentlemen in the Labour Camp, the cat is out of the bag about what is happening with alot of the immigrants coming in from offshore. Now it is clear why many are "dissappearing" and working as illegals elsewhere, with no documentation. I highly doubt that they are making the minimum wage if they are illegals. Just about anything is an increase from the wage above. The Alberta Government has acknowledged they let these people down. It would be wise to have a good look at where all these immigrants are finding themselves. Does Alberta have a "Don't ask, Don't Tell" policy with regards to illegal immigrants?

Dion's "Liberal Green Shift" carbon tax Plan
madmax replied to madmax's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I giveth with one hand, and I taketh with the other. Hey....... wait a minute................................ someone changed my thread title. What is very clear, is that this is no long an environmental issue. This is simply a tax shift, a tax restructuring, and has nothing to do with the environment. I do find it interesting to hear some CPC supporters sound like Socialists, defending the poor against the lowering of the progressive tax and creating a regressive tax. Some of the tax shifting would make Peter Pocklington jump for joy. (Remember him). Many on the right would like to see income tax replaced completely with a consumption tax. And this shifting is simply taking advantage of the move away from the consumption tax that Harper engaged in, with his 6% to 5% reductions. The Liberals are pulling a fast one, and trying to get those monies before the Provinces do. Thus in the other thread, New Brunswick is going to claim back the 2% that the Feds Reduced. Politics is politics and the spinners spin. This aint about the environment baby. -
I hope you are joking when you say that? Comments like your last sentence scare the crap out of me. You can wait as long as it takes to get your food/coffee/timbit at a drive thru. I recall a Tims about 10 years ago, put in their drive through. Soon boasting how 70% of the business went through the Window. However, it wasn't 70% new sales. Just a huge drop in counter sales. Which remains current. Lazy people use drive throughs for convience. Yes cars waiting in line in a drive through Pollute. Establishments with drive thrus make MONEY!!! At least the old A&Ws you parked your car and shut it off. (and then drive away with the Glass)

I don't wish to wade into being a nuclear expert. However, I will start talking with my friend who was an engineer in the nuclear plant, currently recovering from Brain Cancer for details on these questions. In the meantime, are you separating the Uranium Mining from the Process?

What would we do without Google... Your research could be correct.

Dion's "Liberal Green Shift" carbon tax Plan
madmax replied to madmax's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Are you kidding... I provided the thread title... Look at it.... DIONS PLAN So that YOU wouldn't have to take the flack for starting another thread title to talk about the Liberals. I expect a warm hearted thank you....... Let the comments begin.... (again) -
Obviously not well enough for the Ontario Liberals. They have chosen Nuclear heavy water over Manitoba clean water . A common myth is not fact. I too thought that nuclear created less of a footprint. Apparently it does not, ..as the article earlier in this thread highlights. I too used to believe that these nuclear doorstops provided good value for the energy the produced. That is why we don't need another. I wouldn't recommend Manitoba get any either. No matter who is in power.
-
Oh, I thought you knew this person when you called him a hack and passed judgement. So, that is why I provided the environmental science professor who said basically say the same thing but had the credentials you wanted. Nuclear is Nuclear, I don't buy the false marketing. Tell it for what it is, how much it costs, and the problems it still creates. Nuclear power comes with warts. And it is not Sustainable in the long term so.... why bother.

Does it matter if DU is in a tank shell or a cruise missile?
-
You know him? Here some other stuff to consider. Alan Roberts taught physics and environmental science at Monash University. His sources are cited in full in a longer article in Arena Journal No.23. http://www.theage.com.au/news/business/uns...8796587593.html Not even touching the environmental problems of Nuclear.
-
Ditto. But it could be done. Unfortuneately the Nuclear Lobbiests have more say, and McGuinty has no courage. The nuclear lobbyists wants the taxpayers monies and McGuinty is going to give it to them.
-
Are you talking about the Manitoba NDP cancelling the above Conawapa? As for buying power from Manitoba, there is enough power in Northern Ontario to be self sufficient and sell to southern Ontario, except its not on the grid. Regardess, I am no expert, but why not buy power from Manitoba if its producing excess cap. I guess you will have to get some documentation from the Nuclear Lobbiest to back that up. I am still paying DEBT on those Nuclear reactors. I am still subsidizing Bruce Power even though it is "Privatized". You want to make a case for Manitoba power. Start shouting loud. If there is money to waste on this dogs breakfast, I am certain it could be better spent helping your province develop the above Conawapa. Nuclear Waste is not safe.

Ouch!

How much money did you get from the government? How much did you spend on child care you needed?

Know that is what her husband grew on her fathers property after her husband renounced outlaw bikers for because of her love.... Bernier, Fortier, Cote, and now Solberge... Looks like her ties and family ties are deep in the government.

If you are interested in Carbon Footprints, then you should know this..... http://www.canada.com/reginaleaderpost/new...48-fb29b66d9323 When has that happened. Nuclear will always be overbudget and a costly boondoggle to provide energy. Once again the Liberals are governing by polls. Including the chosen site.
-
The CPC have downplayed Couillards Mom getting the "part time" position. I want to know how well Monte Solberge new her mom in vocally speaking out on her behalf in order for her to receive the $50,000 job. PART TIME $50,000

Dion's "Liberal Green Shift" carbon tax Plan
madmax replied to madmax's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Liberals have backed away on "Taxing Gas" because they know it is bad politics and the CPC jumped all over them with their attack adds. It has nothing to do with "taxing the polluters". What the petroleum at the pump is no longer polluting when it comes out the tail pipe. WHAT A LOAD OF BUNK!!! It is a tax grab, like all the other provinces that are jumping on the band wagon. And the Federal Liberals want to follow suit. This is a tax to be put upon modest income homeowners on their ELECTRICITY and the HEAT!!! My Hydro Bill is in the lowest bracket, not the highest, and I do not need the government taxing me, telling me I am a polluter, under the guise of saving the planet. Same goes with heating . Planting a TREE is not going to save me on heating costs, unless you expect me to cut the tree down and BURN it. I just moved away from my lovely fireplace in the country, and my insurance company is not fond of me putting a wood stove in the home. The Government will not be giving money "BACK" to anyone without cutting services. I do not relish hydro companies doing the same to people overly burdened by this cash grab. -
1) I didn't know about those (BOLDED ABOVE) aspects of the law. 2) but...... You are an insurance guy, ser so I MUST HATE YOU!!! 3) I don't like Fantino  4) but you and I sharing common concerns about this law..... I cannot stomach....it Ok, Guyser. I am actually interested in these laws from a Insurance perspective. I thought the industry would welcome these "tough" laws. Any rumours on how the industry is handling these charges and what may be coming down the pipes.
-
Here are my thoughts on this. OVER MY DEAD BODY!!! Here is good marketing tool to use to sell it. FREEZE in the DARK!!! Vote Liberal. and then..... Well thats good, maybe people will live in there cars. Not GAS eh? What a scam to "save the planet". I can't wait for the next election, and the dismissal of Dion.

Or Monte Solberg

It is suprising that a judge ruling on an injuction made those comments. As far as I know, you are correct.
