George Bush Lays the Smack Down

You don't just cave in on something which could become as valuable as the Panama Canal. -
With regards to other sectors, a physio therapy and sports medicine facility that pays their University and college degree/diploma staff between $10.35 and $14.80. While there is a high turnover rate, they are never short of qualified staff.

More hours then "who". The majority of employees do not receive all the stat holidays, bargained holidays, paid sick days etc. The majority of employees do not have two months off, a few weeks at christmas, a march break, etc. It is easier to find a teacher working straight days, then shift rotations, straight nights or straight afternoons. Teaching is a job that has difficult elements, but it is not rocket science. As I have many family members that are teachers, I recognize the good life and lifestyles they lead. Sabbaticals, trips, and social clubs take up alot of time. Many teachers are able to do their curriculum in their sleep. Like any position it does seem like alot of work at first. The fact is, we can find teachers in the US who work just as hard as teachers here and work for $20,000. Teachers do not have a monopoly on hard work or a difficult job. It is because their are more difficult jobs in the private sector that the do not wish to partake that directs them to the cushy life of a public school teacher. All employees bitch and complain and mention how difficult their jobs are or how unpaid they are. But the majority of teachers would not be able to earn a living paying as much money for so few hours in the private sector. Infact, many teachers would be unemployable with their current skillset regardless of their university education. There is an abundance of graduates from teachers college who cannot find work in their field and are employed through temp agencies working for $9 an hour.

Lower commodity prices and weakening demand creeps into Sask Employment. Logic would concurr with the article that these layoffs will be short term.

You are oozing with syrupy goodness of the LPC and Iggy. I like far less syrup on my pancakes, but some people like to smother their pancakes with Maple Syrup. maple syrup -

I find it amusing that you follow up your request with a "smart assed remark". I find it interesting that a rural protestor hides behind his union for financial support. -
George Bush Lays the Smack Down
madmax replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Harper and Bush are idealogically and fiscally aligned. The believed in the same wars, same economic strategies and both believe in large deficits. But Harper does believe in Canada's sovereignty in the artic along with all other Canadian Political parties. What Bush has done, is put the ball deep in our court and then passed it over to Obama. This won't be about Bush and Harper this will be about Harper and Obama. Which could be a political bonus for a Prime Minister not warmly received in Canada. It is the kind of game that plays to Harpers strengths and gives him a bogey man south of the border and one who isn't idealogically aligned. -
Conservatives to table $40 billion deficit: CTV
madmax replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Never get slack on a government or it will run you over. Those moneys, which still can't fend off the fiscal deficit, need to go back into EI. I see it, raise EI payments to cover their mess up. -

Conservatives to table $40 billion deficit: CTV
madmax replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
After the court ruling and public outcry, the CPC have announced they would make changes to EI including creating a separate fund. The question is where is the money the CPC blew in 2006, 2007, 2008? EI revenues from those years were put into General funds and spent. -

The CPC did the same. Tweedle dee and tweedle dum. However, the LPC are inviolation of not using due process and changing rates. I could care less how government steals from the trough, but the CPC used the funds for purposes other then EI, and have the right to do so. That doesn't make it right, it just makes it justified theft of the EI fund. I don't see the CPC rushing out to change EI so that money that goes into EI is used for EI. The CPC would be in even worse shape showing an even larger deficit. Taxpayers lose again. -
Top Liberal denies Coalition exists!
madmax replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The coalition could pass legislation with CPC support. No different then, in order to avoid being tossed out on a non confidence vote, the CPC could work a deal with the BQ or LPC or NDP to maintain power. Infact, they have to. If the CPC get a written deal, it is far better then the seat of the pants governing. If the CPC lose the confidence of the house, and they certainly did, they now have an opportunity to regain it or hand it over to another party that can obtain enough votes to pass legislation. That party ... the LPC has secured a committment from the other parties should that occur. This saves us a costly and untimely election and maintains the MP in my riding. But the CPC are the ones who have succeeded with BQ support in the past, I doubt they will get it back anytime soon and now will have to kiss another political whore. That is why parliment is suspended. All the CPC MPs are getting out the chapstick. -
We know you are a characature. Archie Bunker was lovable.

I for one find this hilarious 1) The article is old. 2) It has been discussed on MLW 3) YOUR LINK IS TO THE WRONG STORY lol: -
The Liberal Party was the beneficiary. The tax payers are the suckers. Don't worry, we take it from both colours equally.

This is a far cry from the 4000 pows who surrendered including 497 Al Qaida foreign fighters who were executed after being shipped in containers on trucks out into the desert. That is a crime which is unlikely to ever see the light of a courtroom clerk. I suggest that it is too early to tell the outcome of this case, and that there could be many factors involved that need to be revealed when the time comes. Someone has to make a decision. Would he have been more humane to have let the Afghan suffer from his mortal wounds? How can he be tried in a federal civilian court?
