The Conservatives aren't backing your position, and vocaling and emphatically are stating just the opposite. You agree with socialist ideals.

The other issues in this thread are all old. I lost all respect for Ken Hewitt shortly after the Land Developer got their money.

One thing I have noted. Ever since being pointed in the direction of "Informed Vote" the more dissapointed I am in the website and its articles. They have been lame, and uninformed, often short and completely lack depth. The level of partizanship is problematic and not trustworthy. All conventions are designed to preach to choir, and certainly CPC conventioners are not going to rock the boat and lose their Social Conservatives lapdogs anymore then they are going to advance Social Conservative ideas. This isn't a left or right issue. It goes across all party lines and all voters who vote for different parties have a position on this issue. The Conservative Candidate in my region played possum on the abortion issue, until the Christian Heritage candidate flushed him out into the open and then you couldn't tell the difference between the NDP, LPC and CPC. The Christian Heritage Party has a mix of socialism, fiscal responsibility and well thought out family support visions, that are lightyears beyond the CPC and further then the NDP. The CHP is considered right wing only in its social conservative values, and is like a socialist conservative with regards to fiscal responsibility. The position of the CPC has not changed since 2004, and isn't going to change, anymore then when an LPC MP brings forth the same type of private members bill. So, whoever you are trying to kid or fool regarding the Conservatives, it just isn't working. From the CHP website...... So stop Bull SH17ing people about the Conservatives..... here is a party that means what they say about abortion. The CHP will.... Which is more inline with the amount of popular support this issue receives with the Canadian Public.

20 of the 21 posters believe in abortion and a womens right to choose. Only one person is 100% against all forms of abortion. That is the thing about a womens right to choose, they each make their own decision on when, and if they should ever have one. All the factors above are considered in a womens decision, but at the end of the Day, it belongs to a women and not to "Mr. Canada".

I understand the void you want to see filled. I believe their is a demand to have that void filled, but neither the organizational means, nor the ability to mobilize will come from another set of policies from a "new" political party that people will ignore, like half the public already ignores the main ones that exist today. We are moving away from that type of society for one that requires both members to work hard and bring home enough money that would equal one paycheck from 10 or even 15 years ago. It's hard to know your place, when you are running in and out of the house and juggling between two or 3 part-time or part and fulltime jobs. You put it in your poll and two people who agree to the conditional abortion in your poll are insane that it allows for up to 9 months? And I don't know how insane it would be, but if you could have a child and at 9 months you were denied an abortion because your life was endanger, I would miss you...... just like in LOVE STORY And if they are not? So is it murder or not? If you are allowing it but still calling it murder, it is a crime. So where are the changes to the criminal code? What are the penalties?

Are you suggesting that centres with pro life activists who talk young women into having the baby over the abortion, then ignore and abandon the single mom on welfare, or ostracise her? In my area, young girls having babies is exploding at a pace we haven't seen. Many of these groups have been very effective and now the government has built child care centers for girls with babies/toddlers at the highschool and who live on their own on welfare after classes.

I am clarifying that your polls allows for the woman the Choice to terminate a pregnancy but under conditions that only you agree to. The choice to continue the pregnancy to term, still belongs with the woman. The reasons and rational to give her that choice belong to you. Not only do the criteria of right and wrong belong to you, but you have decided that 9 months is ok. I could not cheapen this poll. But you have left the final decision to the woman who is pregnant. That is still choice.

I see that there is no term limit on Incest, Rape, or Danger to the mother. So, a perfectly healthy fetus can be terminated up to 9months according to the current two people who choose this answer. Sounds like a Choice Question that ends up being left between a Women and her Medical Practitioner. Much as it is today. That said, there is nothing here about changes to the criminal code.

The Canadian Economy experienced steady expansion in 2006, 2007, and to midway through 2008 and may yet show expansion when the final numbers come in, but it is highly unlikely. In the midst of this expansion, rapid growth, the loss of value added industrial jobs were masked by growth in Service Sector growth, real estate, resource economy and growth in the financial sector. So, to put it mildly, you are wrong in your assumption that when Harper stepped in, he walked into a global recession let alone a Canadian one or even one in Ontario. But there were all the writings on the wall, of what effect the dramatic loss of Industrialized jobs could do if they continued at the current pace, let alone an accelorated pace. I hope you are not a Harper Kiss ass and apologist...... That's funny, because I have met with business people in forestry back in 06 and more importantly 07 who cared not only of BCs forest industry but also with Northern Ontarios and forestry across Canada. However, I realize that politicians don't care about forestry, particulary the CPC ones that I met, who happened to be in government, and what do you do with an LPC politicians who decides to care after they have lost government . But arrogant people such as yourself claiming to state that nobody cares about Ontarios Forestry, and that people in BC are only self centred on their own needs is not what I encounter. All the MPs elected in September are still there today, (Just not working), and will be there in January. And should enough MPs agree to work together without having another election, then I am all for it. The agreement of the coalition is for 2 years. Harper has no intention of governing beyond fall 2009 before throwing us into another election. If he were to have had the foresight to work with a political party to ensure a majority of seats will pass legislation and keep us out of the polls, why would I complain, regardless of if its the LPC, BQ or NDP? It was good enough for Harper to contemplate in 04, its good enough in 09. Or they run off to their GG MOMMY like a little girlie man. How the F)#$)#@* would I know what the Frenchies think? I think if Harper gets the BQ on board, they would be happy as life is back to normal again. The highest losses in Industrial Jobs have been in Ontario since the CPC took Power. That is nearly 200,000 and these are in all facits of industrial job losses. From Food Processing, Packaging, Windows, Beef, Candy, Canning Facilities, Pulp and Paper leading the way, screen printing, bearings, furniture, washer dryers, you name it has dissappeared and that trend has been the case in point since nafta and moreso since the acceptance/confidence of China as a major place to invest and produce consumer goods. The resource sellout you are talking about is actually something that the coalition has on the table, with regards to FORESTRY that the Harper Government wanted NOTHING to do with. That condition arose on the table because the NDP swept Northern Ontario with the help of devastated communities affected by the loss of Forestry. The Auto Sector, the sectors that are likely to receive help all happen to be in CPC ridings. One very very close to the Finance Minister. Of the hundreds of thousands of industrial jobs lost under Harpers watch, the Auto is an important sector but not as many jobs are affected in the grand scheme when other industries are added in. However, the North American AUTO DEALERS association are lobbying heavily to avert bankruptcies as the financing packages collapse or consumer confidence is lost. Auto has a broad mandate, and just because operations are located in Ontario, the fact is, no matter where Auto is located, they would ask for government money, just like all companies do, and while Industry has been ignored for 15 years of PC/LPC/CPC rule, it was to allow them the right to invest their money elsewhere and to exit Ontario, without causing a hemorage. So if you are wondering why forestry is getting nothing, it is because of the CPC. If the CPC choose to support forestry, it will be because of the threat of a coalition government supporting forestry. As for the Auto sector, you are like most Canadians and have little knowledge of their intentions. Which makes us no different then Americans or Japanese etc.
