I feel for you Greg. They forget to use the Ignore button or just stay away from the threads they dislike. I have stopped responding to a certain member because there is no point banging my head at the sillines I get in reply.Others can do the very same thing. Maybe you will have to make a definitive statement to stop this fragmentation among the members on how this forum should run? Oh well.

Ann Coulter at it again
sunsettommy replied to newbie's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And I was showing you how his manners are just as bad as Coulters. Since it seems that is the argument you were trying to make there. And how the hell can one read better with only 3 lines of text present? Does not leave much room for interpretation. Or did you not say what you really meant? Ok I could have said more to make you happy.I was asking Guthrie anyway NOT you. That is why I was sparse in my post.He knows where I am coming from. You obviously do not. However Ann Coulter Writes a lot more Satorically than Bill.Bill writes his books with little Satire at all. She makes insults in her writing. She also does namecalling in her writing.Bill writes with negligible to zero namecalling, insulting and so on. On TV. Ann Coulter is actually a lot nicer while Bill is more overbearing. A world of difference. Bill has a show where his undenied combativeness is evident and yet people keep coming to his show.Maybe there is a reason for it? I tried all your links and only the last one works. Here is the one I read: LOL, A mighty short transcript section of the video. How would I know this was NOT taken out of context? All I see is rudeness. NO namecalling. No threats. No slander. Ann Coulter is much nastier than this example you used against Bill. Try reading any of her books. -

Bill O'Rielly bothers you that much? He at least has much better manners than Coulter. He is NO Republican either. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA Sure he does. He is a dangerous man for many ignorant people like Bill. OH and he is intelligent and reasonable HAHAHAHHA http://youtube.com/watch?v=tLPuGuaZTx8 With Jeraldo Revera. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ctlmholr45c With Phil Donahue CHEAP SHOTS !!!! http://youtube.com/watch?v=MsuooIpnArQ Cuts off a former Colenels mic. http://www.crooksandliars.com/index.php?s=Ann+Wright Explains the above clip This is my fave part Notice the subtitles they put up during the interview. I shall continue WATCH OUT FOR LUNATICS !!!Bill needs dumb people on his show to make him better. Sometimes he gets the smart ones on his show. That ends up looking bad for him. Oh how I could go on...... Sigh, I was COMPARING him with Ann Coulter. Read better next time ok. -

Ann Coulter an Entertainer? I think she really believes what she writes and I doubt it is for "entertainment". She has an obvious dislike for liberalism and she attacks it hard in her writings. I had to use the dictionary because he was denying the obvious that she is a Satirist. When they continue to deny without a good rebuttal. Then I know they are just blowing smoke. -

sunsettommy replied to newbie's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well, obviously I can't speak for 'the left', but observing from the center, it's pretty clear that Coulter is a rightwing stalking-horse whose 'humor' consists of slandering and victimizing anyone who falls afoul of right wing prejudices. As much as rightwingers relish that sort of thing, it's really not satire or humor. Thank you for skirting my post. LOL I showed you the definition and you were had. Why are you denying the obvious that Ann Coulter is a SATIRIST? She has been nasty, humorus and plain stupid in her writings. -

sunsettommy replied to newbie's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Except without the satire or the wit part. She's a professional scold, attackdog, and haridan, not a satirist. The Dictionary differs with you: I did say that she has a potty mouth. Her Books,Columns and Interviews are full of Satorical commentary. Do you read much? LOL -
Inhofe calls the goracles hand
sunsettommy replied to B. Max's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And the beat goes on..... ...At this point Hansen criticised Al Gore's presentation in An Inconvenient Truth of current greenhouse gas concentrations in comparison to paleo concentrations. Saying Gore was wrong to suggest the temperature change we are likely to experience from current concentrations is proportional to that seen in the paleoclimate. Those paleoclimate changes were predominately driven by ice cover, which as long as Greenland and Antarctica stay roughly the same size isn’t a major factor now and also aerosols which had scope to reduce their cooling contribution as climate changed from cold/dry=dusty to warm wet. http://www.energybulletin.net/22996.html Except your article is from last year and I have since talked to the guy and that crap is blown way out of proportion --- Hansen agrees with Gore's presentation and the predictions made - sorry if you guys can't deal with it You are desperate. Al Gore still stands by his Inconvenient truth presentation. James Hansen is STILL involved with Al Gore.Has been since the late 1980's. Try this link, Al Gore in NYC - "Operating the planet like a business in liquidation" WorldChanging Team May 26, 2006 1:41 PM Excerpt: Arthur Smith has been following energy issues since 2002, co-founded the Alternative Energy Action Network, and is vice president for chapters with the National Space Society. http://www.worldchanging.com/archives/004496.html or this, http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Pag...L20060526b.html or the very recent comments by james, James Hansen who should know better is making a total fool of himself drooling in Gore's shadow. It is sad. -

sunsettommy replied to newbie's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
He said she was a shill for the fascist right, not the Whitehouse. Those positions tend to confirm that characterization. Sigh, you are playing fast and loose with the meaning of the word fascist. She has no political power and has NO organizational position in a party. She is a SATIRIST with a witty and potty mouth. -

sunsettommy replied to newbie's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Good work Guthrie: Yes they said all that nonsense. The problem is that they are satirists and have NO party power. Ann Coulter has no power over the Whitehouse or the Republican Party. She writes books, posts satirical columns at various outlets, speaks at various locations and have interviews on various TV shows. She has NO political power. That does away with your "Both Limbaugh and Coulter are shills for the fascist right." absurdity. That is why I believe you do this to be divisive. -

I am getting tired of this immature bickering on the part of some people here in this thread.Same in some other threads as well. I am on a number of forums currently and have dropped from other forums in the past because of the immaturity and OR poor moderating within.I may consider dropping from this one as well. I am a MODERATOR in one of them and may become one in another one later on. The bickering and the divisive nonsense I read is not worth my time. The topic is about Ann Coulter choice of words. Remember this?: Coulter's Syndicate Won't React to 'Faggot' Slur Guthrie: They bother me because they are uneccesarily divisive.Plus your words are patently absurd. The word Facist can not apply to them. "Both Limbaugh and Coulter are shills for the fascist right." It is plain that you overlook where these two have been stating their displeasure about the Republican President on several topics. They are not shills since they have attacked even some of the Republicans pet positions on the issues. Gosh did you forget Ann's loud attack on the Presidents choice for the SCOTUS? She lambasts the White House for being a wimp with the Democrats on number of occasions. Did you forget Limbaughs attacks on the Presidents weak response to the illeagal immigration problem? Besides that YOU dragged in Rush Limbaugh when the topic is about Ann Coulters big mouth. You are not making much headway in how you conduct yourself in this forum. -
Inhofe calls the goracles hand
sunsettommy replied to B. Max's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That is called an opinion. Yes, an opinion that the facts are in. and? Newt Gingrich message was an opinion. Jim Inhofe calling global warming a hoak is an opinion. Al Gore's gloom and doom presentation has been found to be lacking by a lot of scientists on BOTH sides of the debate. Even James Hansen is getting nervous about Al Gore. Anything else? -

Blanket statements makes fools of people. I am mildly conservative. However I DO NOT listen to Rush Limbaugh,Mike Savage,or ANY other conservatives.Who are on the air. I rarely read anything from either Coulter and Limbaugh.I never paid my way onto Limbaughs website membership. I object to your divisive pigeonholing of a political group. It is hateful. Why not drop it. -

Catchme's first post of the thread: My post in reply to the above: Catchme's second post of this thread: Well I failed to see your words "brown people" in your original post. My wife is brown and I see so little of what you complain about in this forum. Next time be more specific since I did not see it the way you wrote. -
But if those "conspiracy whackos" stay within the bounds of civility. How can you deal with them? If they try to peddle their nonsense in a way that still conforms to the aims of a forum. Promoting discussion. If you have a serious problem with someone whom you believe is perverting the ideals of THIS particular forum.Report it. If it is a particular person you dislike for some reason.Consider the IGNORE button. I have had one person put me on ignore in this forum despite that I was always reasonably civil with him the whole time. The world is changing and so can any forum.

yes this is interesting, you know I always thought the definition of Luddite was someone who was afraid of change. Isn't that what the argument is all about, we need to change our ways so exactly who are the luddites, the ones who want to keep the so called status quo. there are right wingers posting on this very forum who like to use big words, even when they really don't know what they mean aside from exposing them as not being as educated as they claim, it really kills a genuine debate when we are caught up in educating some moron about words he misuses and can't seem to understand, even when given clear explanations of his error Exempting yours of course. LOL

Guthrie: Well I think it is important to realize that only a few climate scientists actually write the report. How Many Climate Scientists Were Involved With Writing the 2007 IPCC Statement For Policymakers? You are of course invited to rebute a climate scientist who was one of those FEW scientists on the previous 2001 IPCC report.

sunsettommy replied to Charles Anthony's topic in Support and Questions
Yes such as nastily mocking Ann Coulters appearance in a thread. Wholesale condemnation of a political party as seen many times in this forum. The smearing of a small group of scientists who are skeptics on the Global Warming front. Many more examples I can say can be found in this forum and in the world. -
Why Doesn't the US Respect Canada More?
sunsettommy replied to jbg's topic in Canada / United States Relations
America, through it's foreign policy , doesn't respect any country. PERIOD. America serves, it's OWN interests. This has nothing to do with 'respect'. which makes these questions irrelevant. She is a vicious, hurtful, mendatious idealogue who plays to ignorance and malice. It's no wonder she's the poster girl for today's Right. Well you seem to overlook a lot of attacks she has sent the Republicans way too. She blasted them hard over Ann Meiers. She blasted them over being (in her opinion) patsies to the democrats. She slams them over immigration and more. -

Coulter is actually a poor excuse for a satirist. As far as her looks goes, how can anyone so ugly on the inside look good on the outside? Henry Rollins is my new hero ;-) A poor excuse for a SATIRIST? LOL She is world famous for her witty and sometimes nasty prose! Sells millions of books and gets on TV many times. She is a millionaire because of her success. Look at how many time she is being attacked so poorly here in this thread? The attacks on her physical appearance is juvenile.
