  1. That alone justifies you needing the vaccine but don't think just because you need it, everyone else does.
  2. Hate to tell you but age is not binary. I can give you multiple scenarios off the same question...20 vs 65, 20 vs 75, 30 vs 65. Distinction by age is the furthest thing from binary but nice try. Of course, its always telling when people don't actually answer the question but instead deflect. So your simplistic way of viewing things is that anyone that is 'more of a risk' (regardless by how much) should stay home? So by your logic, then you would agree that anyone over 60 (vaxxed or not) should stay home because they are still hospitalized and dying more than 20 year olds. Also, should Blacks and Hispanics be forced to stay at home as they have been shown to be at higher risk for both hospitalization and death? 95% of deaths in Alberta have been shown to be in people with pre-existing conditions. Clearly anyone with a condition, regardless of their vaxx status should stay home because they are clearly higher risk? So the only people that should NOT stay home are triple vaxxed, 40 and under, white people. Gotcha! If you are going to make decisions based on risk then you need to make that risk objectively comparable and you have to have an acceptable risk limit. The people above this acceptable risk are elderly and those with pre-existing conditions. These people NEED to get vaccinated. People under that acceptable risk should all go on with life regardless of vaxx status, especially is Omicron remains to be as mild as they are saying.
  3. You quoted the question when you first responded to me but don't worry, Goddess requoted it for you. The statistics clearly show that the people filling up the hospitals and dying are elderly and those with pre-existing conditions. But instead of targeting those people, the government felt it was easier to just have everyone get the vaccine and thus created the vaxxer versus antivaxxer dichotomy. If they truly wanted to make the proper dichotomy, they zone in on the elderly and pre-existing condition group and educated people with simple stats. Right now, you are trying to convince a bunch of young, healthy people to get it and they are giving you outright resistance because of it. Because of this, you now have unhealthy and elderly people (who SHOULD be getting the vax) refusing to take it because they too think they are healthy. I have had COVID, I am also under 60, slim and athletic and no prexisting conditions which statistically tells me I don't need the shot. With that said, I have been very vocal about telling those I know who are over 60, overweight or have any preexisting condition that they SHOULD get the shot. The government knows the stats but they choose to propagate their phony stance that EVERYONE should get this and are now moving on to 5 years olds. This thing could have been controlled a long time ago if they had the kahoonas to actually tell the people that need this shot what they need to hear. But instead, its easier to attack young, healthy individuals who know they are not at risk.
  4. When you answer the question I asked above, you might see the point I'm making.
  5. You think a 20 year old unvaxxed person is more vulnerable than a 70 year old double vaxxed? If so, you have clearly bought into the binary divide they are hoping you would have.
  6. The doctor who first reported it actually says it looks really mild compared to other strains however its WAY too early to tell definitively. https://www.businessinsider.com/omicron-variant-symptoms-mild-no-hospitalizations-yet-doctor-says-2021-11
  7. The two largest of the three "waves" Ontario has had occurred between Nov 2020 and July 2021 which was before most of the people were vaccinated...hence most of the hospitalizations and ICU visits could only be those numbers. If you truly want to compare how the vaccine is doing then you should be measuring the hospitalization and ICU numbers from the point of vaccination. Clearly the 83 people under 60 with vaccinations happened after they were vaccinated. The bulk of the vaccinations started in June/July when the largest two waves were already over. If you truly want to compare the numbers then see how many under 60s were in the hospital or ICU from July 2021 to Nov 2021 as that is what your numbers above are actually referencing. Not saying that the unvaxxed would be lower or even the same but I'm guessing the shock value would surprise you.
  8. So no need for boosters?
  9. See...you just got caught in the lie as well. Its not like these bed are cots rolled in for your buddy to sleep on. The surge beds are just the same as any other bed just reallocated from some other use. If they have an ICU capacity of 425 then they have the beds in place for 425 but choose to use them for ICU when needed. The limit is 425....where was the expanding when you are at 300? Or is it reallocating? Again, this is wording they use to make it look worse than it is. The ICU continually operates at 80-90% whether its full or empty. When the ICU beds aren't being used they are allocated to other resources. When needed they are reallocated back. That's the question I have been asking all along. Is this a Covid issue or a resource issue. I read somewhere that Ontario's max capacity for ICU is 2300 beds. Based on a population of 14.5 million that would mean there are about 16 beds per 100k. Alberta has a max capacity of 425 beds. Based on a population of 4.4 million, that would mean there are about 10 beds per 100k. According to an article I read, Saskatchewan's ICU numbers were around 60 and they were sending 25 or so to Ontario. IF this is true, then that means 60 is their max, then that means their ICU bed rate is just over 5 beds per 100k. To put this in perspective, most US states have 20-30 ICU beds per 100k. So Ontario has 60% more ICU beds than Alberta per capita and 220% more than Saskatchewan....why is that? Is it poor health care management by these provinces? Maybe? Or is it that the plan is always to use Ontario as a back up? Honestly not sure. I can admit my numbers are crude but I don't think they are far off.
  10. No they didn’t extend capacities, they just twisted the truth about what the capacities are. We approached somewhere around 200 and they said we were getting full. Then they created surge beds to bring us up to 325 or so. Even at that we got to 90% and it looked like we were going to max out if we didn’t do something. HOWEVER, the actual max icu rate according to AHS is 425 but they don’t want people to know that because it’s not as scary to say ICU is 2/3 full. There was even talk last spring from Kenney’s office saying they could have 1000 beds but that was probably BS
  11. I find it ironic that one one day we are overwhelmed and at 150% of our capacity and then they magically re-assign some beds and we are at 85% capacity. I think the media and our unions have done a good job of sensationalizing the word overwhelmed. Agreed.
  12. Again, I would caution you when they say "more" as they often don't quantify how much more it really is. 1%? 10% 50%? Its like the example I showed you about US covid where the MSM down there made a huge story on Delta affecting under 18 kids more. They weren't wrong since for one brief period the rate hit the highest its ever been but it went from something like 4.1 cases per 100k to 4.2. Yes....an increase but nothing to be concerned about.
  13. The majority of young people have been been infected but are you saying the majority of hospitalizations have been young as well?
  14. It’s called sarcasm pal. You really struggle with this
  15. Are you sure I’m going to die? ? I see you no longer have rational arguments so I suggest you shut it down for the night
  16. You’re right. I don’t care about your faux outrage.
  17. Its all good. I have been confused by that too at times.
  18. LMFAO.....CANADA has had 1.72 million cases. Ontario has had about 600k. What are you looking at?
  19. @Cannucklehead Or better yet, Sweden has had nearly 3X the amount of COVID but only 1.5X the death. Catching on yet?
  20. I literally cited the article I posted from. You even said you read the article. Are you into the booze right now? You're circling back now. Again, Sweden had more deaths as 11% of its people had Covid. Ontario is at 4%. When Ontario hits 11% then you can compare.
  21. Bully for you? Are you 12? The last time I visited the hospital was after a flu shot when I was 23 years old. Also, I had Covid in March of 2020. I'm fine. Maybe its wise enough that I do me and you do you?
  22. They did but minimal restrictions. Nothing compared to what was done in Canada, US or UK Um…21st out of 30 countries for excess death. Maybe more COVID deaths but clearly less suicide, drug overdoses or any other restriction related death
  23. That’s cute you think 20k is a lot. AHS spent 16 billion last year. They had 920 people on the Sunshine List for a total of 180 million dollars in annual salary. If you want to worry about dollars maybe start looking there
