  1. I often wonder why anyone would ever want it and how any of them find the time to sleep - Maybe a good topic, what makes someone want to be President.
  2. I think he's right on that, about half of the recent Tamil 'refugees' will end up in Toronto and more to come so the Province or the Feds are going to have to help Toronto out in that respect. I also agree on Subways rather than streetcars. If Ford gets in it's going to be very interesting and maybe fun LOL should liven things up at City Hall..
  3. Good for her.... Now if Congress can pull their funding, but I doubt that will happen, not any time soon anyway. Maybe Soros will send more money - IMO Juan Williams is another casualty in the war against any non liberal opinions, but now they are caught up in it themselves. It's a chill wind blowing and getting chillier.
  4. Expressing an opinion or a fear of radical Islam will get you branded and marginalized, Medved has a piece on it here. There's nothing bigoted about voicing a concern when you consider the actual attacks and attempted attacks on the west by radical Islamists, it is now at the point where people cannot even vocalize their feelings anymore without being demonized,it is an insidious malaize on our society which threatens our freedoms. Just as using the term Hitler invariably shuts down an argument, so does calling someone a bigot or racist, and lessens the impact of actual racism. http://townhall.com/columnists/MichaelMedved/2010/10/20/disapproval_of_islam_is_no_indication_of_bigotry/page/full/
  5. It was a re-enactment group, that doesn't make him a Nazi supporter, are actors who play Nazis their supporters too? Maybe in today's climate it would not be prudent to belong to such a group as these things have a way of being taken completely out of context and used against you. I saw many pieces and posts comparing Bush to Hitler and am looking at one right now that has documented many of the signs at various rallies, hardly the 'fringe'. Moveon.org did a "Bush in 30 Seconds" project containing two specific comments comparing Bush = Hitler, there was no shortage of that nonsense. Remember Soros, you know him, he opined that Bush's rhetoric reminded him of the Third Reich while Al Gore used the term "Brownshirts" in a speech referring to Bush 's teams so it was definitely main stream.
  6. Weird the liberals/democrats/left and their love for nazi analogy
  7. Exactly... found a bit more on this http://costonscomplaint.blogspot.com/2010/10/school-children-manipulated-to-vote.html vote Democrat then eat ice cream every day LOL
  8. Well, if you look at the Pacific Mall at Kennedy & Steeles you would know right away it's Asian. All lettering is in Chinese, you'll be hard pressed to find English (or French) anywhere, when you go into the mall it's more than obvious when you see the merchandise and the vendors. http://www.guidingstar.ca/Pacific_Mall_&_Market_Village_in_Markham.htm a Grand Asian Shopping Experience, although it has been raided more than once for pirated videos. - I did read that there was an expansion going on, not sure what happened, I don't go there any more. BTW, in the same neck of the woods, even the seniors centres and nursing homes are all Asian. found this http://www.thestar.com/business/article/653446
  9. IMO they were not the marginalized fringe, it was a regular occurrence, left wingers today do it a lot too.
  10. Teaching about politics and the system on a neutral basis isn't a problem, but when taking them to vote then showing them a sample ballot with only one party (democrat) on it, it is at least manipulating young minds. That would be akin to going into a Canadian polling place showing a list of candidates, but with one name on it.
  11. They do have a point, comparing anyone to Hitler does tend to lessen what actually happened. There are lots of nut jobs out there who like to compare Bush to Hitler too.
  12. I guess it's hard to turn down 1.8 million dollar donation from a liberal extremist who has a far left political agenda, by accepting it they are demonstrating their liberal media strategy. The price for not turning down those checks is a big one. Indeed we know that Soros is using his money to influence the media message, so really, does anyone expect NPR to hire 100 reporters Soros wouldn't like Actually expressing a fear of something based on actual past events is not a bias, it's a normal human emotion under the circumstances, and anyone who actually went on to watch or read the rest what he said, they would know what he was trying to express. Maybe people should be asking why NPR didn't fire it's Liberal analysts who made much worse comments Things you can say on NPR and not get fired - call protesters with whom you disagree a sexual pejoratives such as "teabaggers." - You can wish 4 million Christians would "disappear" from the earth. - wish AIDS upon a Republican Senator. - claim that Newt Gingrich seeks "a civil way of lynching people," - call for Rush Limbaugh's death.
  13. If you actually read all of what Williams said you will find that he did say, not all Muslims... etc. Rex Murphy has an excellent article today on this, he says it all very nicely, excerpted: Read more: http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2010/10/23/rex-murphy-npr-firing-assists-the-fatwa-on-free-speech/#ixzz13H2JWad4
  14. Gosh, insults allready before anyone has even read it, I'm sure with such open minds you won't need to read it to form an 'opinion'.
  15. Talk about straw man arguments and distractions. I got the link from a news aggregator and it is cited on numerous other sources. I've no idea if Cincinatti.com is right wing or left wing, it's the content, not the source. Schools should be very, very neutral, even if a retired teacher is helping, all sides should be presented and all names should be on the "ballot'.
  16. What enquirer page, not the one I posted ? Nothing to do with unions, there was no mention of unions, it's about taking kids on school time and promoting one party over another.
  17. Thought you'd all like this one Image thingy doesn't work http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/User91_2006/for%20forums/novfromourhouse.jpg
  18. you'd care about it if you were American, or if the same thing happened in Canada. Indoctrination by teachers is not a good thing. Your link doesn't work.
  19. Christie Blatchford has written a book about the Caledonia situation, if the library gets it in I'll read it. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/caledonia-the-town-that-law-forgot/article1769901/
  20. Just an example of how teachers play politics with young minds They are denying it saying it was a retired teacher, but it ain't settled yet. http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20101018/NEWS010702/10190308/
  21. Maybe he just wants our 'free healthcare' which he would get as a refugee or asylumee (is that a word ) -
  22. Thought you all might like this one .Read more: http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2010/10/22/lorne-gunter-liberals-defend-sanctity-of-free-speech-for-liberals-only/#ixzz137BoKKZF
  23. Maybe on NPR but this is a guest spot elsewhere, he was asked, he answered, did you watch clip posted. I think NPR will regret this, they are allready losing subscribers.
  24. and as Juan Williams says: Well, now that I no longer work for NPR let me give you my opinion. This is an outrageous violation of journalistic standards and ethics by management that has no use for a diversity of opinion, ideas or a diversity of staff (I was the only black male on the air). This is evidence of one-party rule and one sided thinking at NPR that leads to enforced ideology, speech and writing. It leads to people, especially journalists, being sent to the gulag for raising the wrong questions and displaying
  25. Possibly, but not likely, he didn't refer to ALL muslims either. It's just advanced political correctness and the continuing attempt to suppress opinion that doesn't coincide with the liberals who go along with appeasement. It's interesting to note that LCC refusal to book Steyn's speech was because of complaints from Muslims, and, that his speech was about Muslims and free speech.
