Nothing would make me laugh harder than if the people of Toronto re-elected their morbidly obese drug addict as mayor.

  2. Maybe you could read the links and content from the BBC, The Times and other papers,
  3. I wouldn't know, have they ?
  4. Pretty sure you still do and you must have a valid PAL
  5. I meant here as in MLW, the not so thinly veiled accusations. Meanwhile, read up on what has being going on for years in the U.K. (and in other Euro. countries) BBC Inside Out - the hidden scandal of sexual grooming of young Sikh girls by Muslim men http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10061217/Imams-promote-grooming-rings-Muslim-leader-claims.html
  6. Do they really want full deregulation, surely they are okay with keeping what we had prior to Bill C68
  7. Have any of you actually read about what happened and why council et al didn't take action and failed the children, did any of you read the report. I think before you go off about paranoia and make light of what actually happened, you should read up on it. It was political correctness gone mad, much like what is happening here. They failed to protect the children because the perpetrators were identified as 'asian', they were in some cases advised not to take action rather than identify them. The report actually said ‘several staff’ at Rotherham Council ‘described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so’.
  8. IMO essentially it is something aimed at PM Harper and the federal Conservative government's reluctance to make to make good on Harper’s promise to repeal ALL of the C-68 Firearms Act. The so-called 'gun culture' is really a left wing smear by smarmy anti-Americans. What the Americans enjoy is a culture that values civil liberties and places the rights of individuals ahead of the power of the state. Most countries restrict gun ownership because of its potential to challenge power, Americans celebrate gun ownership as a symbol of freedom. We could use a bit of that thinking in Canada. -
  9. This horrific tragedy is still going on, and was across north east Yorkshire, not just Rotherham. They have known what was going on because there were arrests in January in Newcastle. http://www.thejournal.co.uk/news/north-east-news/newcastle-child-exploitation-allegations-tip-6641462 If the rabid politically correct crowd are afraid to enforce the laws and save children for fear of offending some alien culture what should be done? The police have to walk a fine line as they are continually accused of profiling and racism which leads to inaction. They now need to make examples of those who ignored this and make it clear no matter who is doing the crime, they are to be investigated and the guilty severely punished. Yasmin Alibhali-Brown a Pakistani Muslim, spoke out about the abuse stating clearly that these Pakistani men do not consider their actions to be wrong. She said they have little respect for their own women, less or none for white women. http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/rotherham-child-abuse-scandal-apologists-misogyny-and-double-standards-9692497.html The perpetrators are not paedophiles in the normal sense of the word. Racial and cultural odium as much as ugly lust and power drives them to abuse. Most of them are also irreversibly misogynist. It is a lethal mix, this sexist psychopathy. I partly blame their families and communities. Too many Asian mothers spoil their boys, undervalue their girls, and demean their daughters-in-law. Within some British Asian circles, the West is considered degenerate and immoral. So it’s OK to take their girls and ruin them further. Some of the most fierce rows I have ever had have been with Asian women who hold these disgusting views. One has to wonder if our way of life is so abhorrent to them, why do they immigrate to the west.
  10. Jack liked guns, he was not averse to them
  11. According to Brad Wall there have beeeen 29 studies and reports on aboriginal issues since 1996, do we really need another multi million dollar commission gathering dust. The proposed roundtable discussions seem to be a good idea with all parties at the table. e.g. aboriginals, premiers and the feds.
  12. It is true that the actual numbers have declined according to the police report which also points out that there are many murdered aboriginal men. The police chiefs won't endorse a commission, and surprisingly Walkom of the Star and Simpson of the G & M don't think a commission will be of any use. It's just political posturizing... Maybe they should dust off the 1996 commission along with Chretien's White Paper of '69, all relevant to the issues today.
  13. I'm surprised actually at the no. of bills that have come and gone...
  14. The article says it has never been properly debated but I believe it was debated in the 90s, followed up with the Senate report. I'll have to find the link to that to see what it actually said. I doubt any party would run with it as part of their platform, they might but they would be taking a chance.
  15. True, and they are not, the laws just tend to keep widening.

  17. There isn't really, but it is what can happen if laws become too liberal as in Europe and how the most vulnerable could be at risk. We have to be very careful - should we allow someone to be put down because they are depressed over a sex change operation?
  18. I have no problem with informed consent, but that is the problem, consent in some cases is not being required. There is a large increase in euthaniasias there are falsified death certificates but now Holland even has mobile euthanasia units They are launching an investigation into the increase and a more liberal interpretation of the laws. We have a euthanasia on a person in his 40s who was depressed over a failed sexchange operation. A double euthanasia on deaf twins and a woman who was depressed. How many other border line cases are there… The slippery slope is allready here.

  20. I haven't had experience with any of it myself so can't speak to the issue from a personal viewpoint, but do feel for someone who has, and the person who is terminally ill needing help. However, there is enough out there telling us how the system is abused and how the most vulnerable could be at risk. I have a number of links here is one of them. How do we safeguard against this type of thing. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3070710/ The present paper provides evidence that these laws and safeguards are regularly ignored and transgressed in all the jurisdictions and that transgressions are not prosecuted. For example, about 900 people annually are administered lethal substances without having given explicit consent, and in one jurisdiction, almost 50% of cases of euthanasia are not reported. Increased tolerance of transgressions in societies with such laws represents a social “slippery slope,” as do changes to the laws and criteria that followed legalization. Although the initial intent was to limit euthanasia and assisted suicide to a last-resort option for a very small number of terminally ill people, some jurisdictions now extend the practice to newborns, children, and people with dementia. A terminal illness is no longer a prerequisite. In the Netherlands, euthanasia for anyone over the age of 70 who is “tired of living” is now being considered. Legalizing euthanasia and assisted suicide therefore places many people at risk, affects the values of society over time, and does not provide controls and safeguards.
  21. I agree that we should be allowed to die on our own terms with dignity but I too am concerned about the 'slippery slope', the path from physician assisted suicide to involuntary euthanasia. Belgium now allows euthanasia for terminally ill children http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2014/08/22/jackson-doughart-the-path-from-physician-assisted-suicide-to-involuntary-euthanasia/ It is disingenuous for PAS proponents to say that the problems waiting on the other side of legalization can be simply willed away by the platitude of “proper restrictions.” Recent history suggests this to be more of a wish than a thought. The repurposing of doctors from caregivers alone to the added role of deathgivers signifies a veritable revolution in medicine, whose implications have been nowhere near subject to proper consideration. Abuse has been rampant In Europe http://www.adfmedia.org/files/BelgianChildEuthanasiaMemo.pdf
  22. From what I've seen I agree, the media http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2014/08/20/police-official-ferguson-media-coverage-unbalanced-focused-on-protestors/ ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A St. Louis County police official says there are two sides to every story – but both are not receiving equal treatment in news coverage.
  23. Well, the CMA delegates are against it. http://www.canada.com/Delegates+Canadian+Medical+Association+meeting+vote+oppose+smoking+plant+substance/10134228/story.html They already opposed tobacco. Now the nation’s doctors say Canadians shouldn’t smoke “any plant material” whatsoever, including marijuana.

No, we don't know that. Setting up democratic voting booths where the guy was shot, in front of memorials is at the least classless, inflammatory aand fanning the racist.politcal flames

  25. I don`t think they are going to be able prove anything conclusively, usually by now someone comes forward with a video but here we don`t have one of the actual event. We have some eye witness who said he shot in the back execution style which we now know is incorrect. We have very few facts and may never know other than the cop's testimony. I'm inclined to believe that even if the cop was justified they will throw him under the bus, can you imagine the riots if he was found to be justified.... I'm not saying he was because I don't know and neither does anyone else at this point. I just found out that cigars are used for rolling blunts.
