  1. Of course, democracy only works if one party is elected that fits your views. If you don't get your way then democracy is a complete sham. No offense to the left wingers on here [i'm Centre-left myself] but democracy has always worked in America for the most part. Canada is actaully less democratic then the United States. We don't elect our senators, usually 40% of the vote translates into 100% of the power, and the PMO has more control over affairs then even the White House.
  2. I don't remember hearing about these cases of rape, drugs, and sex in the areas of the country I lived in. Your painting every church with the same brush. Their have been cases of sexual molestation in the Catholic church, however I haven't heard as much scandals coming from many church's up here in Canada.
  3. So when was the left talking about how they support the troops not the mission. Yet here we have talk about our troops getting killed, wow their sure is nothing like hoping Canadian troops die over in Afganistan for political gain eh. How about this since were staying in Afganistan, and NATO is staying in Afganistan why don't you support the troops, and hope that the Taliban doesn't kill anymore of our citizens so they can go home after a successful mission.
  4. Everybody get on their tin foil hats and start smoking dope. I know why were in Afganistan, and it's related to 9/11. As for why were dying there, it has very little to do with economic's since our country is losing billion's of dollars overseas. The same can be said with every other country in Afganistan right now.
  5. Whats the point of debating, pretty well everything that shows your wrong is somehow flase due to the supposed involvement of the Bush administration or some other wacko conspiracy theory. Was that website patriots9/11 questioning whether or not terrorists perpetrated 9/11, or if the government could have done more in relation to 9/11. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4162315283354424113 http://www.debunking911.com/ http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?articleID...E1583414B7F0000 http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/...1531315,00.html http://www.911myths.com/ By the way I think a few of you will enjoy this video and can relate. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4162315283354424113 For everbodies enjoyment, here are a few conspiracy theories. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conspiracy_theory
  6. If the conservatives bring out a new policy on the environment which the majority of Canadian's accepts, as well as fix the fiscal imbalance, then we could see a majority in the next election. I think the two areas the conservatives need to work on are the environment, and the fiscal imbalance.
  7. http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology...aw/1227842.html Well, here you go. I'm sure that you will try to attack me and give a youtube video or some obscure site. But I trust the information above more then something a crackpot said.
  8. The only two Liberal leadership candidates I would consider voting for are Kennedy and Marth Hall Findlay. Unfortunately neither one will win. The only problem with Kennedy is that his french isn't good enough and he never got enough support in Quebec. But I'd think he would be better then the alternatives. But needless to say, the Liberals need to be set straight. They think they have a god given right to govern this country due to percieved arrogance. They need to sit the next four years out. The sky isn't falling like many lefties say it is, and the current government is doing just fine. No deficit, thats about all it takes for Canadian's to not kick out a government. It's worked for the past 14 years.
  9. I have more trust in the Ipsos Reid poll, so far they have been more consistent in recent years in terms of actual election results. Besides a poll done now can't say as much about whats going to happen in an election. Remember the 93 election.
  10. Well apparently a large portion of people all around the world were fooled into believing it was Osama. Listen PN your in the small minority, and you and your kin are with the anti-semite conspiracy theorists, the Elvis is still alive conspiracy theorists, the Roswell and UFO people, Bigfoot, whatever. It's all laughable, and despite your facts a large portion of the scientific community disagrees with you, including the majority of the population.
  11. Pretty well anything considered politically incorrect can be considered racism nowadays. I blame the fact that Canadian's aren't taught enough history in the education system. Their are many great Canadian's, its just that most people don't know who they are.
  12. Yeah I mean who would have thought that people would get emotional over something like abortion...
  13. Now you know how Timothy McViegh felt.
  14. Allright since you've won the debate you now have to run for elected office and tell everybody about these conspiracy theories. Since any idiot can see what you have pointed out your for sure going to get a majority. Or you run for office with all your conspiracy theories and are laughable candidate who would be lucky to get 0.5% of the vote. Listen bud, the vast majority of people believe Bin Laden was involved with the 9/11 attacks. Obviously people aren't as smart as you, especially the ones that don't get all their info from conspiracy theories on youtube. But thats life, get over it.
  15. I think people need to get a sense of humour! I remember when people were made at Conan O'Brian for making some remarks about french people with Triumph the insult dog. Some people were even questioning whether he should be charged with hate crimes, people should lighten up. Besides is that how you treat one of the people that made it be one of the top ten greatest Canadian's.
  16. I'm thinking democrats will win both houses. Apparently Bush was well known in Texas for being able to reach out and work with democrats on the issues. So maybe the last two years of his presidency might actaully bring about something positive.
  17. Wasn't America always democratic Anyways, as for the right wing up here being quiet, a poll showed a majority of Canadian Alliance voters would vote democrat, and I'm sure the same would go with most conservative voters. Remember Canada is a very left wing liberal country. Our conservatives would be considered closer to the Dem's then the GOP.
  18. I've heard many of these conspiracy theories before. Many of them are based on ignorance, and they all have a common root which is ignorance. It's much akin to the holocaust deniers belief of what happened in Nazi Germany. Lets see, the Green Party, Libertarian Party, Taxpayers Party, Reform Party, Republican Party and Democratic party. All of which have many different factions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_11%2C_2001_attacks http://wtc.nist.gov/
  19. Get off it. Bush didn't prop Harper up into government, and Bush isn't telling him what to say. This is about as intelligent as all those posts on here about conspiracy theories.
  20. Actaully a few people will target military members, even in St Jean I remembered that some bars would refuse to serve any person with the military issue haircut. For some reason people will think they are tougher if they get into fights with military members. People will taunt you if your in the military, but its best to ignore such people.
  21. Lets see, their really wasn't much of an economic benefit to the US attacking itself on 9/11. The FEMA Concentration camp wasn't one since any military facility would be heavily guarded. The New York Times is independant, as are many other publications. If the media is constantly lying we'd all be rallying around only one party and one line of thinking which we clearely aren't. What else makes me skeptical of conspiracy theorists, oh one blew up a federal building in Oklahoma City. Lets see what else, many conspiracy theorists are anti-semitists, pointing to the idea that all of the Jews left the WTC on 9/11 because the Jewish community perpetrated the attacks. But I can't get into the mind of somebody truly paranoid. So far on most topics you have offered up conspiracy theories with little proof, and when people show you what actaully happened you throw around some nutjobs theories pointing to that as absolute truth. It's as bad as the guy that backs up his arguments with the viewpoints of people who have been in jail.
  22. Is Presstitute even a word? As I've said I've looked at those video's on the "9/11 conspiracy". But then again I like to think rationally and not be a victim of paranoia.
  23. I'm sure thats an unbiased source!!! I've seen the 9/11 conspiracy movies, hasn't made me change my mind that 9/11 was a terrorist attack. I think everything is a conspiracy theory to you, and you are obviously very paranoid. People have tried to debate you and you simply throw around these video's on Youtube. I saw the one on the FEMA concentration camp, which once again I showed was complete BS. Why weren't their any MP's at the supposed concentration camp. The only evidence was a few renovations done to the place, and a train that had an AF sticker on it. If you have ever been to a US Military base you will notice you need to get through the MP's and security to be let on to any base.
  24. 19 years old. I've always been interested in politics, first volunteered for a political campaign when I was 13.
  25. Yep, only people on really potent pot would be able to pick that up. Can you give us any sources for your BS theories that come from unbiased sources.
