"Democracy" in Afghanistan
Canadian Blue replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Lets look at another mission were the left wing was silent when it came to Canada's role in Kosovo. Who were we supporting, the KLA, here's the background on the KLA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo_Liberation_Army I love how they talk about how much they hate Harper, yet Chretien, Martin, and Harper, have all be involved in wars were they may be supporting questionable groups. Yet were is all of the criticism of Chretien and Martin? -
I'm simply pointing out your ignorance on the issue Norman, when proved wrong the best thing is to not answer the question but instead insult those that prove you wrong. Norman, grow up and try acting like an adult.

Stephen Harper: Closet U.S. Democrat
Canadian Blue replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What, is their a need for anymore NATO troops in the north. Once again I love hearing this whining from somebody who has no clue what is going on in Afghanistan. Especially when they make a comment saying that only a "few" NATO nations are in Afghanistan when 31 nation's have troops currently in that theatre. -
How do you know that? How do you know what soldiers lives are like, I'm in the military and so far haven't seen the same dire mood that you have regarding the mission. Go to army.ca on the forums and spew that same post there and see the kind of response you get from soldiers who have been to Afghanistan.

Stephen Harper using the troops AGAIN.
Canadian Blue replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Because Canada has been a democracy for over a 125 years. Afghanistan has made the change to democracy within 5 years so how can you expect them to be a pluralist democracy within such a short amount of time. Allow the Afghan's to make progress, I'm certain ten years down the road it'll be a different story if the country is fully functioning. But that is only if NATO doesn't pull out before training the Afghan Army and Afghan Police. -
"Democracy" in Afghanistan

I am a young member of the CF.... From the soldiers I've talked to they have said we are making alot of progress in Afghanistan at the moment. Perhaps you and Norman should ask yourselves why you don't see many of the troops coming back from Afghanistan opposing the war. Apparently it fits the UN's idea of democracy. Honestly why did Canadian's have such a huge change of heart in a matter of a few years? -
Stephen Harper: A one mandate PM?
Canadian Blue replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Economic consequences, lost jobs due to increased waits at the border. Not to mention as was pointed out police needing to be able to charge people with driving while high, and having something which could hold up in court. Their are more reasons then simply saying he's a SoCon. I'd rather wait till we have a different administration in the Whitehouse then lose thousands of jobs so a high school pothead can get high. -
"Democracy" in Afghanistan

Norman's solution is to pull out before all of the facts are known to Canadian's. Army Guy, I've showed him the same info 15 times about the Christian who was about to be killed, but wasn't due to international pressure. Apparently its extremely easy for a country to go from extremist religious rule to pluralist democractic rule . -
Harper's position on China
Canadian Blue replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I was being sarcastic. Because of all the people that say Canada's reputation has gone down the drain since Harper got in. I've read the story and looked at the bill. You thought the bill was about murdering homosexuals when it obviously wasn't. The bill is about hate speech. In the case of Abdul Rahman. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul_Rahman_%28convert%29 Once again we have shown you this about 15 times on here. As for Iraq, they are in the middle of a civil war, which human rights violations are you talking about? I think pretty well every single western country has concerns about Iraq. As for islamic law in Iraq, I guess you can blame Bob Rae for letting it happen, seriously!!! Really, where do you even stand on international issues Norman. I've got no clue, all it seems you do on here I post about how much you hate Stephen Harper. -

Sigh, once again WRONG!!! http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories Man, once again proof we are selling out on Canadian values. How can we ever grant honorary citizenship to the Dalai Lama, how un-Canadian of us. -
Stephen Harper: A one mandate PM?
Canadian Blue replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If Harper were to only focus on his 5 priorities he would probably see his support going up. But now that foreign affairs has taken the spotlight his popularity has gone down. I'd reccomend Harper to take a few actions. First would be to try and hammer out a deal with the NDP to bring about a much better environmental plan that could be accepted by both parties. The second would be to start focusing more on the law and order agenda, and the third would be fixing the fiscal imbalance before the next budget. If Harper were to show any progress on these issues, he has a fighting chance to get a majority government. -
Crosses Yanked from Nov. 11 Gr. 3 Display
Canadian Blue replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
GH, here's the thing though, the poem "In Flanders Fields" says crosses clearly. Should we then get rid of the poem due to the reference. I don't think the crosses were meant to interpet Christ's death on the cross, but the sacrifice our soldiers gave for the country. -
French minister slams Canada's Kyoto retreat
Canadian Blue replied to Mimas's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Because Afghanistan isn't as pressing as Iraq at the moment. As for your factual tip, the US is still very much involved in that area of the world, and will not be pulling out anytime soon. I never noticed this attitude in Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec, or New Brunswick, from my time spent there. I don't know maybe your just a wingnut. Really why would you want Canada to split apart. See I actually agree with alot of the NDP's policy, but when you see a person spewing this garbage you don't want to be associated with them. The only thing we have given you is billions in transfer payments. What shit have we thrown your way that makes your life so difficult. Stop calling yourself names. Honestly, try engaging in rational debate once in a while instead of coming off as a crazy catwoman. Hasn't happened yet, once it does then start complaining. As for evil Quebecers, we have never called them evil. Honestly, I don't even know how to respond to you, its like a kid that complains whenever they don't get their way. PS: Learn how to properly use the qoute button. -
French minister slams Canada's Kyoto retreat
Canadian Blue replied to Mimas's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What are you talking about. Being rude gets you nowhere. First things first, nobody said anything about hating Kyoto, as for the democratic deficit, no one say anything about hating it. Engage in democratic debate maybe. What is a neo-con? What is the philosophy behind neo conservatism? My mom was homemaker, and worked on the farm. She wasn't really all that lazy since she raised three kids who went on to get good jobs. I believe single mom's get that benefit as well slick. America has the highest troop levels in Afghanistan right now. I have talked to plenty of soldiers who have worked beside members of the US Military. Once again back up your statements. Wow, strangely enough me and another friend of mine from Alberta wear the Canadian flag on our shoulder. We don't hate our own country, and were never taught to hate our own country. As well what about those Albertan's based at CFB Edmonton who have given their lives in Afghanistan. But feel free to spit in their faces while your at it. I have never seen a person's tires getting slashed because they don't have Albertan plates on their vehicle. As well I have met plenty of fellow Albertan's who unlike myself will be going over to Afghanistan and in harms way. While your going on with this BS about how much you hate Alberta, remember those Albertan's who are currently serving in Afghanistan and have given more to this country then you probably will in your whole lifetime. As well why does it always seem like Albertan's show more support for the troops then any other part of the country. [no offense intended to other parts of the country] Replace Albertan with jew, and it would sound like something a nazi would say. Our economy is more then just oil. Yeah, Alberta's economy isn't all that impressive. -

Upon looking at the members previous posts. In the short time I have read your posts, you have come off as irrational, incoherent, rambling, intolerant, bigoted, and childish. So you aren't really helping your cause. Perhaps you should look to jdobbin who is on the left and provides an actual argument. By the way try using some euphemism's to describe people for a change. If you possibly grow out of this childish jibberish and name calling. I think if I acted the way you have on here I would have been sent to the principals office in grade 2. -

Hold on, if Alberta leaves how would Quebec afford its daycare. As for "we" who are you talking about. So far I have lived in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick, and Alberta, yet haven't noticed much anti-Alberta sentiments. In fact the only province that ever really seemed stuck up was Ontario, but I wouldn't paint all of Ontario with the same brush. Were supporting Afghan democracy and development. Unfortunately we have to deal with the warlords, and the druglords. If you wanna have a debate fine, but stop getting so emotional here. Damn Albertan's and their oil. I reccomend ethnic cleansing. As for the shutup remark, Alberta is a province not a colony. Get that through your head. The only place that I've heard people refer to as the centre of the universe is Toronto mimas. As for our booming economy, we seem to be growing at a much higher rate then Ontario, and many people from across the country have moved to Alberta. But it had nothing to do with the economy. Chernobyl??? I don't think its just Alberta mima's. Really, stop with the intolerant remarks. I'm assuming you've never been to Alberta, and you don't know much about the economy. As for Alberta damaging the economy, thats a joke. The dollar has helped the economy as well. My mistake, I thought I read that France was the leader in the Arms trade. No you SHUT UP!!!!!!! Really grow up and start acting like an adult for a change. -
Once again, the Afghani government had changed the decision after a massive uproar from the international community. I think this is then tenth time you've been made aware of this. Yet for some reason you fail to provide the name of the man who would have been executed. The CPC and the Liberals can be blamed equally for that, even though it isn't true. I'm not sure why the UN would help make a nation similar to Iran which is what your claiming. WRONG Promote and Advocate are different then actually murdering a person. So is Afghanistan, which has been pointed out to you more times then I can count. The last elections were in 2004, and the UN oversaw those elections to ensure fairness. As well 28% of the parliment is made up of women. The UN also helped setup the constitution, but apparently the UN is in the business of making theocracies. Here's something of interest on our involvement in Kosovo. The group we helped support the KLA was also accused of war crimes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo_Liberation_Army So then was Chretien wrong for getting Canada involved in the former Yugoslavia? Intolerant, how would you know? Has Harper asked for homosexuality to be outlawed, or certain cultural groups? If not, then he probably isn't intolerant unless you have some inside information to the contrary. Hold the phone, based on that definition of tolerance, you are actually intolerant. Am I correct?

France is involved in Afghanistan which is good on their part. However the French are also involved in the arms trade to more of an extent then any other country in the world. I believe some of the equipment Saddam was using was bought from the French. -

Lets hope that ignorant voters who can't even figure out that their are more than a few nation's in Afghanistan don't know where the polling station is because they never bothered to find out.

Crosses Yanked from Nov. 11 Gr. 3 Display
Canadian Blue replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes it is, because it refers to crosses. Should we then get rid of the poem "In Flanders Field" due to the reference of crosses? Afterall a cross does represent christianity. Political correctness is trying to avoid offending people at any costs. This issue is an example of political correctness. -

Harper's position on China
Canadian Blue replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Was it about hate speech, or killing a person based on sexual orientation. We had a lengthy discussion about it, and noted what the law could imply for religions, free speech, and freedom of expression. Hate speech is much different then advocating killing gays. If you actually advocate to kill someone, then your going to be charged under the law no matter what. Once again Harper was more concerned about parts of religous texts being labelled hate speech.
