  1. So how did you help the disadvantaged today? Oh I'm a liberal thats more then enough Personally, whenever I hear liberals making the constant Bush Republican comparison it reminds me of why I, and most Canadians routinely ignore politics because of that BS.
  2. PN, I think we just proved that your an idiot with that poll you posted. Do you think that question asked whether or not people believed the US was responsible for 9/11. Allright, anybody else wanna get that tin foil hat.
  3. Well, I don't think any of them are too impressive, and I think that they would lose any election against Harper. Especially when Liberals rally against the tough on crime approach. But then again I think the Liberals will always prefer to put the rights of the criminal above the rights of another. Why do they always go on about pitting one group against another, thats democracy. Especially when this party only seems to pit Canadian's against each other in order to gain votes.
  4. No the liberals aren't comparable to the Klan. Such rhetoric is absolutely useless, and simply meant to be inflammatory and offensive. As for the Liberal's calling Harper's remarks divisive, they often divided the country into two camps. Remember the remarks about Canadian Alliance members being holocaust deniers, racists, and xenophobes, not backed up by any substantial statements. After the 2000 election many western Canadian's were infuriated with what had happened. As well when any politician, especially liberals since they seem to do it the most, claim they represent Canadian values. Despite the fact that nearly half of the nation might disagree with them. Personally whenever I hear talk of Canadian values being sprouted off and its only to advance a political cause that has divided the country it doesn't add anything to my pride of Canada. More or less such talk only divides Canadian's, and makes it harder to debate an issue because one may be considered uncanadian or pro-American. It's all complete BS, which is the reason why people don't get involved with politics and have a very low opinion of politicians.
  5. Sen. Byrd But this is stupid, the Liberal's aren't the Klan by any means. Do you know what the KKK is all about and what they have done in history. The Klan had members in both parties, and were extremely popular throughout the nation in the 1920's, and made abit of a comeback in the 60's. I think the Hitler/Klan/Stalin comparison's are idiotic. I question whether those people are simply completely ignorant of history. I've heard people say Bush is just as bad as Hitler, I wonder whether these people have any clue what the Khmer Rouge, Hitler, Stalin, Hussein, Mugabe, and a host of other leaders have done while in power. The only reasoning behind using such comparisons is hoping to shut down debate. At its core comparing people to such evil in a way is fascist, since you are going against the fundamentals of what a liberal democracy should allow which is free, and open debate regardless of political leanings.
  6. It's a funny movie, better then most of the other Canadian shows that are crap. But then again I don't think its really glorifying that lifestyle, its something to be mocked, not something to aspire to become.
  7. Allright, well why don't you and the other 1% of people that wear tin foil hats run for political office and expose the truth. It is a free society after all.
  8. I am a fulltime reg force soldier, unfortunately with my posting I'm am not on the list to go to Astan, hopefully will be though by the end of my contract. From every other soldier that has gone there they are more then proud to have gone over there, and in fact a member of my trade got shot in the head while in Afganistan. I am more then aware about the Afgan mission since it affects all of us in the CF, every single member. What members of the CF don't really like is when people try to undermine them back home, it demoralizes the troops to hear such BS. But then again pretty well everybody that disagrees with you is a simply minded idiot. Paranoia will get you nowhere in life, try growing up, and maturing a little bit. The only reason why you have this freedom is because of blood spilled on foreign soil for your freedom.
  9. Or for that matter saying that the conservatives are going to turn Canada into a police state by placing troops in all Canadian cities because of an increase in funding to the CF. I like seeing Liberals getting this riled up, despite all of the smear campaigns against their primary opponents. Harper's comments were pretty tame compared to being called a holocaust denier, bigot, homophobe, xenophobe, and all of that BS. All simply because of a difference in policy.
  10. Well, I will give Rae the best and most intelligent response to Ignatieff's mideast comments. Allright, for war crimes what if Canadian pilots accidently bombed civilians in Serbia due to the fact the Serbs has strategically placed military points in civilian locations. Would you support our troops being incarcerated for that crime. It's war, get used to it. War is a terrible thing, and should always be a last resort, however most always remain a possibility. Canadian's should know this from fighting in the Boer War, World War 1, 2, and the Korean War, as well as fighting in Kosovo and Afganistan. All of these mission's involved combat. It's a large scale combat mission, and right now conventional war has been replaced by Guerilla warfare. The rules have changed dramatically. If you have ever seen the documentary Death in Gaza, you will notice terrorists using children to achieve their means. In the western world we are actaully willing to see our own military casualties rise in order to save civilian lives on the enemy side. The last thing we should be doing is charging troops for an honest mistake. You can't accuse Israel of warcrimes, yet it seems okay that British Para's fired into unarmed civilians in Ireland in the 1970's and got away with it. A common saying used be many is I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6.
  11. Ontario has some retarted politicians on both sides of the fence. You know what Ontario should try doing, just elected a completely new party. If one party screws up so bad that they can't be elected, never trust them again and force them to the opposition benches for eternity .
  12. The problem I find is that Ignatieff did a a huge flip flop on the issue. He believes that saying what happened in Lebanon was a war crime will get him more votes in the leadership race, which is pretty typical of most Liberals unfortunately since they have become corrupted by the belief only they deserve to run this country. Harper has supported Israel, but lets think for one minute here, if a country kidnapped our soldiers how exactly would you want to respond. Especially if this country wanted to wipe you off the face of the earth. Israel has gone through more pressure then most democratic countries, and is the one singled out and attacked constantly. Either way, its a poor show of leadership on the part of Ignatieff to simply troll for votes instead of actaully standing on principle which is the reason why the Liberals should be wiped out the next election.
  13. Show us undeniable proof, sorry but when some dingbat makes accusations like that while I have friends that are going to be going over there I want to see some idea of what you believe. The sad thing is that so many Canadian's died so that you could spout off this nonsense, its close to spitting on the graves of the soldiers that died in my opinion. As well the majority of the members of the military that I have talked to that went over don't seem to substantiate anything that your saying. Unless they were brainwashed. Then how is that the majority of the media doesn't believe it who are primarily unbiased. Down in the US, and around the world I would doubt the majority of people are brainwashed. If they were then we wouldn't see all these massive protests. The difference being is that the war right now is very unpopular. Bush had absolutely nothing to gain in the end as he is now one of the most unpopular presidents in history. Other then the terrorists being identified, the confession by Osama, and nearly all intelligence reports and investigation done into 9/11. As well what would be the point of crashing a jet into a Pennsylvania field, what is the hell kind motive would be behind that. Personally I'm more then sick of all this BS that comes from conspiracy theorists, you'd have a better time proving that Aliens crashed at Roswell in 1947 then trying to tell us that the West attacked itself so they could go and fight for mountains and sand in Astan. How many people have BS theories about the "Jewish conspiracy" or that Elvis is still alive, the moon landing was a fake, whatever. Somehow I think these people simply are so paranoid to the point where they can't trust any authorities and it drives them crazy. A perfect example is militia groups down in the US, the cult in South America that drank posinous koolaid, etc. Despite the fact that you are intelligent, you seem to suffer from paranoia, perhaps you should get counselling. It's scary that your that paranoid. As well, if those troops that died in Afganistan were in on it, then why would they die for a cause thats completely untrue? Please answer this question. 100% Pure BS
  14. When a person flip flops so much it only shows poor, undecisive leadership, and worse things to come. If any potential leader cannot show that they can show a position on an issue and stand firm then they only willing to compromise after some debate they should not be leader of this country. Iggy has gone from one extreme to another within a few months.
  15. From what I learnt, a war crime is when civilian's are intentionally targeted in a war. I think in a legal sense what Israel did would be justifiable since civilian deaths were unfortunately collateral damage. The people that would be responsible for war crimes would be Hezbollah who purposely used military positions in civilian populations in order to have an advantage in the propaganda war. I'm shaking in my boots at having another Liberal as PM, finally having a PM that shows leadership would be a huge loss for the country. As well in my job I'd imagine morale would once again nosedive and be similar to the situation when the Liberals took control of the country in the early 90's.
  16. This is all hypothetical, who would you vote for in this election if you were eligible to vote in the United States.
  17. Same here Michael, unfortunately their aren't many options out their for those that want a different choice. I'd prefer the Democrats since they have shown they can govern. Here at home I'm content with the Conservatives, better leadership then before. However on social police while I support the government getting out of the marriage business I am pro-life so no major party besides the Conservatives are willing to allow me in and be heard. I just did a poll that showed I would be more likely to vote NDP as I share some common views as they, however could never bring myself to support them over issues of pro-life, government bureaucracy, and their views on Afganistan which are important to me since I am a member of the CF.
  18. I would vote for the Democrats, especially if that democrat were to be pro-life. I find that the Bush presidency and Republican's have strayed so far off course in the past few years that its time for a change. As well hopefully the Democrats can provide a compassionate government yet at the same time be able to compromise on social issues to heal the cultural divide in America.
  19. I haven't really found any of the candidates in the Liberal leadership race to be all that different with maybe a few small differences in policy. It's a shame that the party of Pearson, King, St Laurent, and Laurier has been brought down to this level.
