  1. Well, I am of the opinion that institutionalized day care is institutionalized brain washing. I do not support any tax funds going to day care. While I do not support my taxes going to people with kids under the age of whatever, I know it happens and I suck it up. I believe that if you have children, you exercise adult responsibility and support them. If you cannot support them you do not have them. Borg
  2. Good cause - but ...... Healthcare is a provincial responsibility. Period. Borg
  3. Perhaps you should apply for a seat on the judge advocate generals team - you seem to have all the answers. I am sure they would value you and your expertise. Borg
  4. Peace is peace. Oh please. You know very well I'm asking about final borders, population settlement, redress payments, water access, and security guarantees and the like. Reciting 'peace is peace' obviously doesn't touch on these points, so let's not pretend otherwise, hm. I am sure the Isreali folks will be happy to accept damages for relentless attacks on their people. But in fact I would bet they would just be happy if it would all stop and let those who owe them keep their money. I also believe they would be happy to build from where they sit right now - and allow others to do the same. You continue to throw red herrings into the mix. Why don't you tell us how it is going to work? You have had 3 pages of suggestions and yet you continue to pontificate and yet provide nothing of substance. Perhaps you would like to dazzle us with YOUR brilliance? I suspect no one has changed their opinion of you - have you had a report back yet? ;-> Borg
  5. Name calling? Coward? It was a question. Report away. Borg
  6. As much as I am not a supporter of Iran and their nuke policy, they are a nation - they have the right to self determination. Even if it pisses off the4 rest of the world. This country will do as it pleases until it is forced - probably by war - to toe the line presented by the major powers. Borg
  7. Actually dog is quite tastey when prepared properly - it was an emergency food in the arctic as well. Fur hats are nice and warm - it takes about 4 average cats to make a decent hat. Tell you what baylee - try it - you might like it. Borg
  8. Judicial procees was carried out and sentences passed. You obviously are a better judge and jury. Borg
  9. The link? Yea,on the morning news on TV this morning I see Baylee did not answer the question - a coward? or no response because it was not something to be of interest? More smears and more innuendo - time to write this one off. Borg
  10. I agree. Any nation that practices state executions is largely uncivilized. Are you willing to include China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, N&S Korea, Japan, Jordan, Egypt, Singapore and about 75 others in this statement? http://web.amnesty.org/pages/deathpenalty-countries-eng Borg
  11. Wilber - precisely. He is not a snivel servant - he is a general - a soldier and a leader of men. He took the same oath every other officer takes - fortunately this man takes his oath seriously. Unfortunately for him - many Canadians do not understand he is doing what he is supposed to do - the Generals the Canadians have been used to - DID NOT DO THEIR JOBS - but people preceived them to be doing their jobs - while sucking the golden tit and worrying more about high priced jobs on the street. The Canadian book - Tarnished Brass - illustrates what the military has been going through for many years. Things have finally changed and folks need to get used to it. Borg I was always under the impression that an officer's primary responsibility was to those who served under him. Something that the politicization of our military brass was making obsolete. Hillier seems to be a throw back to a time when that was still true and a damn good one at that. He sticks up for his people, that makes him a man to be respected.
  12. Actually, he is doing his job. And the troops love him for it - best morale booster the military has had in years. His predecessors did not - they sucked the golden tit at the expense of the troops - hence folks think Ranger Rick is out of line. I might add - quoting directly from the article in the Star - I am sure it is your favourite paper - Chief of defence staff denies blunt talk about past budget cuts is too political Feb 17, 2007 04:30 AM Bruce Campion-Smith Ottawa Bureau Quote - But Hillier made no apologies for his blunt talk, saying his job was to describe the state of the armed forces, "like it or not." "We've gone through a decade of darkness and we're starting to come out it," he told reporters. He denied he was straying into political waters or trying to signal a preference that the minority Conservatives – who have pledged $17 billion in new purchases, including helicopters and transport planes – remain in power. "As the chief of defence staff, I care not who governs our country as long as they support the Canadian Forces," he said. End Quote Read the last line of the quote and then go to the entire article if you like - link provided. Entire article: http://www.thestar.com/News/article/182858 He has gonads AND brains - not sure what you have but I doubt it is much of either. Unfortunately you seem to represent the average Canucklehead today. Liberal social re-engineering has done wonders for people like you. Wanna' drop that purse and get it on little fellow - or do you want me to tell your mommy to take you home and spank you? ;-> Glad he is leading the charge because I am sure you would not be up to the job. Have a nice day. Borg He should shut up and do his job. His job is not to mouth off about the choices of civilian government.
  13. Well allow me to put it in simpler terms. Isreal is not the aggressor. If they are not attacked or threatened they will not retaliate. If there is no one shooting or bombing them - they will not do the same thing in return. That is fleshed out enough for most - hopefully it works for you. So - in closing: If Palestinians stopped doing their darndest to remove Isreal from the map - and their neigbours stopped doing this - peace would break out. If Isreal lays down it's arms. it will disappear in a week - pure slaughter. I am sure you will be pompous enough to refute at least a little or possibly all of what I have written - but the best solutions are usually the simplest. Now - get the Palestinain people to stop teaching their children it is good to kill Isrealis. Peace will come. Until then it will not. Peace - the absence of war - or do you want me to give you a Websters definition. Am I clear enough for you? Take your "useful specifity" and stuff it where the sun does not shine, because it is folks like you that perpetuate the problem. You are such a pompous ass. Borg
  14. Well Baylee - lets go at it from a different angle. And the - "we should not be there" or "we must leave" - excuse is not a suitable answer. The soldier is there because the politician put him there - to stab the soldier is to attack the wrong person. This story actually took place - but I will disguise it a bit and use Afghanistan as the country - although it might have happened in Iraq. This is a short story about a soldier - who might be British, American, Canadian or Polish. I want you to forget about skiing and collecting your unemployment cheque and actually put yourself in the following position. You know that human bombs are in the country and you know that you are to follow the rules of engagement. You do not need to know the rules of engagement - they are not important for this exercise. Last week you either were nearly blown up by a walking bomb - or you had the honour of picking up the pieces of one of your friends who was literally "mistified" because he was very close to the actual detonation. Or one of the Afghan soldiers you have worked with as an advisor was killed the day after you had supper at his house with his family - and you were there to see it. It is now early afternoon - you are tired, hungry and probably shit scared - the crowds of people are closing in on you - enormous numbers of people in a very small area. If you have never been to a third world country you might not understand - but there are literally thousands of them on the street and you are getting lots of "looks". All you have at the check point is you and three fellow Afghan soldiers you are working with. The others are behind the sand bags with the heavier weaponry - you are out in front - alone and afraid. Suddenly someone ignores the written warnings of the signs you have prominently posted. This same someone ignores the the voice commands - in the local language from your Afghan soldier who is standing guard with you - and continues on foot to the barracade. Weapons are pointed and the Afghan soldier now shouts his commands to stop - the person begins to sprint to the barracade. A soldier - which one is not important - fires one short burst and this person drops to the ground - does the rubber chicken - bleeds out and stops moving. No one approaches the body - it might be rigged. I will not tell you who the shooter was - it is not important. I will not tell you if the person was carrying explosives or not - but I will ask you - what would you have done in THIS situation? I was not involved - I do know what the runner was / was not carrying. This person - the runner - was carrying out orders from someone - somewhere. Testing the resolve of the soldiers. Testing for a reason. To repeat - first question - what would you have done? Second question - what would the the bad guys test this resolve for? Answers please. Put down your beer, your joint and think before responding please. I would like an honest response. I would hope you have the moral fibre to produce this honest response. Borg
  15. I am assuming - perhaps wrongly - that this was addressed to me. If not sorry. If it was was - why will you not do me the courtesy of responding to the rest of my post? Divert? Change lanes? Not interested? Only care about your own opinion - others be damned? Final question - is there anything conservative or military that does not immediately make you foam at the mouth and spout and denounce? Or do you figure all of us folks are dirt under your feet? Surely there must be something that would at least merit SOME respect from you. Or are you completely against everything that wears a uniform or votes conservative and so on. You really hate ole Ranger Rick so much? Your life seems almost lonely. Over to you, Borg
  16. weaponeer - remember now - this has been going on for years. So the "run the road block" is completely planned. I suspect it is similar to the 'suicide by cop" syndrome. Except these folks are told to do this - it creates bad press and weakens the resolve of citizens in Canada. I figure you give one warning and then provide them with a bullet. And no - not sorry. If you are a plain old citizen of the country out on honest business - you will stop - if you are one of the bad guys you will run at the road block faster. Another goes to heaven. Just when will heaven run out of virgins? Borg
  17. Learning lots - you are a productive member of Canada's society I see. Taking out far more than you put in? Borg
  18. How about national "Screw Winter - Let's Have A Party, Eh?" day. Borg
  19. Recently on CFRA Ottawa there was a program about a person who sent letters to a war widow telling her that her dead husband deserved to die because he was a killer of innocent civilians? Would you be this person? Borg Takes even more courage to sit behind a computer and basically say who cares about Afghani citizens being killed by our soldiers.Or cops indulging in kiddie porn A real man/women would agree that its not a good thing. But no not you CB. You just want,as the saying goes,to shoot the messenger and not the message. So how about it. How do you feel about Canadian soldiers blowing away innocent civillians ?
  20. Alter ego? Borg The Taliban supported Bin Laden, thus the Taliban is allies with Al Queida and Bin Laden. The Taliban allowed Bin Laden to operate in Afghanistan. Wait 25 years and let history decide what was evil and what was good. It's odd that the biggest feminist on here, won't name any names, refuses to lash out at Baylees comment's against a women in office.
  21. marcinmoka - be careful - to support me will get you in the bad books of dozens on this board who sit on the left side of common sense. See the post above by catchme - a "divert" post versus an answer to the original question along with an attempt to actually sound like she is knowledgeable on the subject. As for the original questions - the answers are and still are simple. Stop attacking the country that is now a neighbour and will not go away. Lay down their arms and allow peace to break out. Others will simply pontificate and throw data around in order to obscure the obvious. Stop the teaching of hatred to your kids and get on with life. And I would bet you a drink and dinner in the establishment of your choice that when this happens, peace will reign supreme. Borg I think Borg hit the nail on the head when he said They are a minority, and their neighbours are vocal and VERY passionate about destroying them. If Israel wanted to, they could easily expand their borders for they have the military capacity, but all they want is to be left alone to eat their Mozza balls in peace and argue amongst each other about the Torrah. If there was a genuine, long term peace, then settlements would be out of the question. Israel has never experienced peace and acceptance, and their actions are the result of a "war" mentality. It was Catherine the Great who claimed the most effective way to secure her borders is to expand them.
  22. <grin> You live in a righteous world - the world of Baylee. Join the world when you grow up and perhaps you will be taken seriously. Until then I look forward to your posts as an equivalent to Readers Digest "Daily Chuckle". Have a good day sweetie. Borg Canadians Shot first ask questions later and more Afghan civilians die
  23. American mess? NATO sent us there and Bush is no moron. In fact I figure he's a pretty cagey guy. As for insults - where were you when our politicians were calling the Americans bastards? No sense getting wrapped around the axle about this. Borg The world calls bush a moron. Interesting though.44 Canadians have died in Afghanistan trying to clean up an American mess. bush totally disregards Canadas contribution and all you have to say is.. calling bush a moron is against the rules?????
  24. Ok - sounds legit. By the way it is calving not birthing. Absolutely the best time of the year besides Christmas. And stabbing is definitely not correct - pressure or raking - spurs are not used as a cruelty item - but as a control measure. I use them daily - and my horse can move forward / back / side to side without the use of any other means of control. Very handy when roping. Ever eat "oysters"? I think you know what I mean. As for goldfish - I don't have any but my daughter feeds goldfish to her Oscars. Borg
  25. Well Figleaf - I figure the answer is simple. 1. Stop kicking the bee hive. 2. Peace. If Palestine were to stop bothering Israel and lay down their arms, peace would break out. If Israel were to do the same, it would be a slaughter. Never happen though - too much ingrained hatred - taught from the time the Palestinian kids can watch television. Borg
