This is a pretty weak defense because we aren't talking about hypothetical alternate universe Donald Trumps that are leftists or Democrats, we're talking about this reality and why you choose from teh range of options before you (or would if you weren't, you know, Canadian.) As you already indicated there were alternatives to Trump with better (in your view) policies than him and who are probably less problematic in terms of the many flaws (that you've admitted to), but you still support the guy because of his personality. And I don't even think you're even representative of the average Trump supporter; for the median GOP voter, for whom personality is an even bigger factor, if not the only one.

IOW policies are less important to you than personality, or at least your perception of his personality.
